Now, while I'm extremely proud of that fact...it's a bit of an eye opener because I've realized how little I've done with this community recently and how quiet it's been overall in the last few months.
First off I want to thank everyone that's been posting fic, art, links, anything b/g. You've kept this com going and I really appreciate it.
Secondly, I want to share some of the recent changes in my life. I got a full time job in November that I love, even though it keeps me busy and exhausted. In December my fiancee and I adopted a kitten we named Zoe who keeps us on our toes (and well stocked in Band-aids).
Basically, my life got hectic very quickly and it was very easy to let things drop...like atj...mostly because I just needed the rest. I'm just not very good with time management.
Sometime last year when I saw that I was about to lose some precious free time and I asked ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) editcat to co-mod. She happily agreed and did a great job for a while, but with a new addition to her life...she also became very busy. I'm sure she'll return someday...but until then...I need help!
So I've decided instead of asking someone this time around I'm going to ask for a volunteer. I'll ask that you write a brief essay stating why you'd like to be a co-mod and then from the entries I'll choose someone to share in the oh-so-glamorous job of co-modding!
Some things to know first...
My allthejellies philosophy:
-All posts by members should have a comment (I've been really bad about this recently, I know...). I want every member who posts to feel validated.
-Every new member must be welcomed.
-Spam needs to be removed. ASAP. SPAM posts are obvious.
-Constructive criticism and differences of opinion are great things. Flaming and general bitchery aren't.
-With regards to underage B/G fic...I don't think they are appropriate during ficathons but it's fine if it's your own thing as long as an appropriate warning is in place.
-A community is great place to meet new friends...you just have to put a bit of yourself into it in order to get something out of it. I especially want people here to comment and post and make friendships.
The co-mod to do list:
-Comment to each post (when I'm not around to comment).
-Help to organize the memories section.
-Help to maintain the memories section (once they've been organized).
-Help to revise the rules for atj.
-Assist in planning atj ficathons, and artathons, etc., this includes choosing the themes and the assignments.
-Get along with me (this is a big one...).
-Aid in maintaining the links section.
Requirements:
-At least 18 years of age.
-Deep love of all things B/G.
-Time.
-Commitment.
-Basic LJ layout and memories knowledge.
-Patience.
-Adaptability (to work with me...I'm not that rough...just spastic at times).
Please submit an essay of at least 400 words, and, please no more than 1000 words, by January 20th. Let me know why you'd like to co-mod and what you think you can bring to the table...as well as why you love b/g. I'll post my decision on the 29th!
