Hi, I just wanted to say hi and do the ten questions due to my newness and all. Actually I've been hanging around the B/G community for quite sometime but I mostly lurk so... going to try not to do that anymore. I'm also new to the whole LJ thing so hopefully this goes alright.

Why B/G? I've always liked older men, so the idea that Buffy and Giles together appeals to me. He has the knowledge and

Why B/G? I guess because I can relate to several aspects of the "relationship": The age difference, the perhaps unreciprocated love that Giles feels, and the fact that no matter how she treats him, or takes him for advantage, he still loves her unconditionally.
What is the last great B/G fic you read, and where did you read it?Aspects of the Slayer, at Watching You, Watching Me.
In your opinion, what is a B/G fic everyone should read? Matched Set, by Koala
What would you like to get out of allthejellies? I'd like to find some really good B/G stories, and perhaps create more of a fan base for my own site. All of the "people" I know on other various b/g sites and groups are so nice and intelligent. I just love creating more of those kinds of friendships.

In Hush when she comes to his place and he greets her with so much affection, a hand on her shoulder...that moment spoke volumes.
Of course, the hug when he returned in Flooded. I could go on and on.
Is there a Giles moment where you swoon?See above. Oh, and I LOVE the scene in the Magic Box when Giles goes all Ripper on Spike, and tells him that they are not his way to Buffy.

My answers:
Why B/G?
I got hooked on fanfiction as a result of an article on Slashdot (I think, way too long ago) and I came to BtVS fiction as a whole not so immediately. As a result of the article I started with Xena fanfic and discovered fanfiction.net. I was intrigued by the amazing number of BtVS fanfics so one day I decided to browse around and see what all the hoopla was about. The character of Giles grew on me. Being one of the few 'adults' on the show and having the most extensive knowledge about what's really going on in Sunnydale put his character in an interesting position and, after reading some good fanfic, I was annoyed on (putting aside any B/G or G/Anyone relations) how little they were really using the character. B/G grew on me because it seems like the one of the most natural pairings - the balance of age vs youth/inexperience/experience; a true understanding of what Buffy is going through; and most importantly the ability to be an equal in the relationship. Buffy is the Slayer and has to be strong (best description of that strength: See Rari Coss' "Power of Friends" where Giles explains the situation to Paul and Roger after they see his wounds from Angelus. Whoever she ends up with has to be able to be her equal in all things and match point for point, like the yin/yang symbol. (Flame me if you want, another for me is Willow and Giles, for many of the same reasons).

Selenay's "Three Days" and its sequel "One Year"; the wonderful "Death Brings Clarity" by J.K. Philips (I'm lucky enough to have a copy of the book!!!); Anything by Rari Coss; the stuff on VirtualLunatics.com; Let me stop now......
What would you like to get out of allthejellies?
Like I said in my initial entry - I'm not much of a writer; more a reader. So I'd love to see some great writing and am more than willing to beta anyone's work.
