Hello, I run Fan History, a fandom wiki dedicated to writing and preserving the history of fandom. There is an article about the Alien vs. Predator fandom that could use some help from people inside the fandom. :) While it is easy to get things like when communities were started and when canon was released, it is much harder to put that information into context, find out about fandom fighting, who the big name fans are and what people are doing at conventions and on the more remote parts of the Internet. Any help in editing the article would be much appreciated. :) If you don't feel comfortable editing the Alien vs. Predator article, please pass the link along to anyone you think might be able to. :) The more people who contribute to the article, the more accurate and useful it will be.

Hellew, wondering if someone knows any site that,

- holds scans of Machiko from the Dark Horse Aliens vs Predator comic

- holds teaser screencaps or a more detailed description of the added scenes from the unrated version. Wanna know if it's worth the extra money. >__>

- holds screencaps of a behind the scenes footage of AvP, where Sanaa Lathan is giving Ian Whyte in pred-get up a hug. I also remember seeing on some fanart (that's now gone bamfed), including a screencap where the pred is standing over a passed out Sanaa Lathan - anyone know where to get a look at that?

AvP X- The Unrated edition review...

Yes ladies and gentlemen, I have bought the AvP unrated edition and I must say, it is an improvment over the original of course and I am pleased with my purchase. So I have decided to write this tiny review about the movie. Paul Anderson has improved the movie by adding new scenes to this edition, making it more worth while to watch of course for fans old and new alike! New camera angles and sounds effects give the movie a better chance to appease die hard fans such as I and a few other friends I knew. A few interesting scenes such as the Skull Chamber and the scene where Scar is reading Sabastian's lips has DRASTICALLY changed the movie and more information on the Yautja is revealed. Surely, the movie has a better chance of getting more attention.

However like all movies, there are cons... I could name ONE major con to complain about the movie...The human violence. It's no different from the original version of AvP.. all Anderson did was DIGITALLY ADD THE BLOOD to the scenes where....

When the unblooded Yautja kill the security gaurds...
Scar kills that drilling leader...
Reusseau's Alien chestburster...
Weyland's death scene...

A few gallons of blood doesn't really up the human gore factor... Anderson, what the PAUK were you thinking?! You could've done more when making the movie post production! Pauk'de ooman sy'uit-de!!

Overall the movie is better in plot and now is more revealed about the Yautja! It is worth buying for those who have the original version.. if you are a die hard fan like me that is...

Of course and I already bought the DVD.....grrrrr

AVP Wrongs?

Might as well be time I post o.o;

I just wanted to explain my err. confusion about AVP from the other Alien movies and probably Predator movies.

My first nag is about Predator's only coming in the dryest seasons on Earth, that was the basic fact of a Predator dwelling on Earth. But for AVP it has the 'Hunt' and that overall 'teenager to manhood' with chopping xenomorph's heads off. But the original text says 'only in the hottest days do they come'

My other two, basically in one scene is where Miller is encrypted in the alien binds and is grappling for the gun, I noticed that the guy with the facehugger on his face was moving, here comes my second nag, in the first Alien, Kane is unconscious from his facehugger attack, this guy is not unconscious and I would think anybody in their right mind would not want to be conscious when a facehugger is attached to your face... :/

The next is after he shot the first facehugger, automatically yet very comically, it made a chain reaction and all eggs in the room opened but if I am right, eggs only open up when a lifeform is 3 feet away, wouldn't think they'd all open up?

I hope this makes any sense whatsoever, AVP was a great movie and I can't wait for the Predalien's debut

Okay, its time for a real, serious story.

This is a fanfic following the ending of the AvP movie..MI of course. Okay, here we go.
Please buckle your seatbeltes and return to your upright position, its going to be a tough ride. Rough airing ahead, ready for some chop.

Chapter 1: Grid&Torch

Grid lay crouched in the snow near the broken wood planks and tortured houses wich surrounded him. The wind sloughed and raced against him, and the pain in his cranium ached but he payed no heed.
His reality had been shattered, his life in ruins..Before him lay the corpse of the bitch-human named Alexa who had perpetrated the demise of his queen, his larger self who now lay dead at the fathomless bottom of the liquified chasm into wich she had been thrown. And all he could do was feed on the humans frozen corpse and wish for some barbeque sauce and a deep fryer. What had happened to him and his colony? Why had it happened? What was he going to do?
He was going to find his way to the hive center of these creatures who had come and disturbed them only to revolt when they were offered the suffocating blessing of implantation. He had to do something about this duck.
So he rose to his fours, and with a bound was off into the streaming and flowing snow and the night.

Clatter, raucous laughing, shouts, music, traffic, lights, shadows, horns, grit-- at once aweful and inviting smells..the city of Paris.
France's capital sprawled like a field of one thousand diamonds in the cloudy dark of night. Not a star could be seen due to the polluted air and thick smog, but no one of the drunk and partying people of the area would have noticed the streak of light through the clouds anyway.
And then the soft, vibrating cuncussion wich followed not long after...

The Predator, Torch, came to conciousness with the smells of ozone and scorched metal in his little pig nose, and felt irritation filling him. He slogged down an anti-depressent.
The dropships were always doing this these days. Whenever they did make it through earths atmosphere to the planned destination, they crashed so that the Predator was knocked out and his capsule trashed...
The Predator kicked and growled his way out of the ruins of the capsule, thanked his lucky trophies he was alive, and began to strap on his militaristic utilities he had retrieved from his backpack. After properly uniforming, he began the slow march towards Paris..He began to think of the missions objectives over.
He had to go to this city, retrieve his deoderant wich he had left since his last trip..and...he stopped, scratching his helmet. It made a screeching sound and he shouted out.
What a bad noise! " Oh, thats right!" He said, " I came here to get the body of that other Predator who supposedly survived the Antarctica Incident. They got the body somehow, and now it is being investigated by members of Unexplained Mysteries..what an EXCITING mission.."
He cursed, then took to the trees when he saw a porcupine come slouching out of the bushes ahead. He remembered the words of his teacher so long ago speaking to him of such dangers.
" You never know when one of those animals might go crazy on you," He had said. No, he never knew.
But he also did not know how to use the trees, so he had to climb back down. The porcupine began to chase him and he started running as fast as he could. Wich wasn't very fast.
Eventually, though, he got to a place where some bums where laying on the street, and the porcupine dared go no further.
But the Predator did. Ignoring the gasps and shouts of " Wait for Halloween you lunatic!" he continued on into the center of this metropolis untill he came to the place he was looking for....

Okay, so this community doesn't seem to be going anywhere, so I'm going to drag it somewhere.
I am going to take it to my soaring heights of wonder that are found only in my story telling.
In other words, I am going to write a story every week, a continuous story that will be so engaging, so infatuous, that this community will be teeming with wretched, and tortured life and buzz.

Here we go love bugs.

Silence oozed out of the night.
*twitter, twitter* a cricket sounded like a boomarang....
The Alien stretched on the floor and realized that it needed to press the pedal to the metal.
It got up, got on a ship that was putting colonists on the planet, hid in the docking bay and waited until the ship took off.
Than it snuck through the ducks, and found a room with the captain sitting in a chair at a computer looking at...oh my god..pornography.
The Alien felt disgust welling in its throat like acid and jumped down, and disembowled the man. " Porno on a ship out in space, where no one can see. How typical."
It muttered and muttered. Then it saw the planets out the window and called a friend. It walked slowly along the window, staring at the camera..." Isn't it beautiful? You'd love it out here." Xeno( The main character) walked toward the lens--" But thats also the problem..because..I think I'm gonna go career. I want to command, a ship of my own and you know..that doesn't leave a lot of room for you and me Trax. I no this isn't what you wanted to hear, but, I have to follow my heart. Write me, alright. Write me so that I'll know we'll always be friends."
It left the room, killed all 506 residents in 3 days, and reconfigured the ships systems for landing at mining station Alpha 1 Not 2.
It saw the slogan on the wall and shook its head. It read: If you go 2 here, you aren't the only 1 to be sent to be killed by Roy and his psycho teammates.

Jesus, it thought. No wonder the Mother Queen is always so stressed out, and depressed.
It saw Ripley through one of the station windows dancing, she was dancing with Hicks to what looked like Beathovens 9th symphony..everyones favorite.
The ship docked..A hummer cut through the door and scanned for life. The Alien stripped down to its underwear and climbed into the spacesuit sans the helmet. No one would find it here. And no one did.
But they did find the slug it had hid in suspended animation. A Orbitz Slug, very rare. But efficient.
I have a long, good life ahead of me it thought.
They took the slug and sent it Priority Mail Across The Universe to gateway. It was saved. The Alien got onto Alpha 1 Not 2.

Ok, I am an Alien-H.R Giger-Sci-Fi-James Cameron-Space FANATIC.
I am also very into acultism and I serve the Queen Alien and base most activities around my Xeno-Cabalism. Oh yes, I am obsessed. I also try to look as much like an Alien as possible-starve to look skeletal, you know, and draw them, write about them, watch the movies at least once every two weeks, and read the books-love those books, by Steve Perry you know. And of course, the comics.

In fact, before I ever saw the movies or heard about Aliens from anywhere else I saw them in one of those darkhorse series and immediatly knew that Aliens and I were meant for eachother. Ever since then, that was 1997-I was 8 at the time, I have been obsessed...yeah, you probably think I'm a pervert, but I'm not. I'm just morbidly obsessed.

And do forgive my references to what must be disturbing you, my cabalism, but I do it mostly for fun. People go around saying they believe in god and christ..well, I believe in Aliens. They are my salvation, so I might as well pray to them and serve them as best I can..when I want too. Ok, I'm rambling now. Anyway, I just wanted to say to all you other obsessed Xenomaniacs, I am joining the club, and would have long ago had I not been delayed in finding these communities.
Thats all for now, but be assured-I have access to almost all Alien related media that at least I have been able to find, so I will be posting many links to Giger, and other Aliens artwork.
