The concert was wonderful, as always, especially since it was all of Tricky Pixie, when we weren't expecting Sooj back until July (P.S. They are having a show on July 20th at Danceworks in Redmond with enough room to dance, remember that date), and I had some warning ahead of time so I did something special. I made an Alligator Cake.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0647.jpg
It was a Red Velvet cake on top with Raspberry Jam filling with a strawberry cake on the bottom with white icing. I called it Tricky Pixie's Revenge since the Alligator in the song ate all the Raspberries and Cream and didn't leave any.
I presented it to Tricky Pixie and Sooj's first words were "Does anyone have a camera?" Which I did and took pictures of it :) I also got pictures of the group.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0650.jpg

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0653.jpg

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0654.jpg

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0655.jpg
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0656.jpg

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0658.jpg

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0660.jpg

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff183/Cleothyla/Apr0661.jpg

Also, www.faerietaleminstrel.com is finally up, though it doesn't have much content yet.
Balance of Nature Icons

I recently picked up Alec's "Balance of Nature", and had the irresistible urge to make icons based around the CD. Fortunately, chirik gave me permission to turn some of her pictures of Alec into icons. (The Heather picture I used is from the Heatherlands.) I'm sharing what I've got so far with you all; I might make more, depending on time and energy and continuing inspiration. ;) Feel free to use! Just please credit makhsihed or makhsicons.

This is the main one:

But in the process of making one icon, I tend to generate five to ten more, so the rest are beneath a cut.

I'm also open for requests, if anyone has particular bits of lyrics that they want iconified. :>

At Norwescon, but Kore asked me to pass this along, so :)

1: Alec had a 2-page interview published about the transition in the March 7th issue of Portland's Just Out. You can read it (PDFs): Page 24 and Page 25. (The entire issue is here, again in PDF.)

Edit: from Kore on the Puyallup thing:
Yes, we know about the Puyallup/Portland mixup. The interviewer got it backwards. Still, when Alec read the article, he thought it was a minor boo-boo in the grand scheme of things. Besides, he reasoned, if everyone thinks he lives in Puyallup then no one will be able to find him and disturb his privacy at home!!!

2: The forums at www.heatherlands.com are becoming a read-only archive. If you can't log in, comment, or post, that's why.

3: Kore has snagged the LJ account celticougar, so she can post here :) Alec has one too.

Hope you all are having a happy spring, wherever you are :)

I usually get the lyrical image, but I'm stumped on this one. Anyone can help this poor soul?

From Wintertide:
"...Will dance in a circle of six and nines"

Sounds interesting. Sounds magical. Sounds hard to keep clean. :) But really, what is such a circle?

Great Tricky Pixie concert tonight! As always.

But I think that by the Alligator song, Alec's puns started getting to my head.

First, thanks to ursuscelticus, my brain kept replacing "alligator" with "naked lady". (It fits amazingly well!)

Then, when we got to "she was sleeping on the velvet couch, and the cats were dozing there too", a disturbing -- yet inevitable (I can't be the first one to have thought this, can I?) -- thought occurred to me.

What would happen
if the alligator
was sleeping on the velvet couch
when Betsy's testosterone-poisoned cat
came into the room?
Hmmmm?
