I meant to post this earlier, but I've been busy ;) Comments & additions are welcome.
Heather was in good voice Friday, if a bit tired. Traffic sucked (at least for those of us coming from the Seattle area). She performed many requests, including We Are Bound, Happin' Frog, Creature of the Wood, Black Jack's Lady, and Gruagach. Heather also brought out The Pirated Pirate Song (Tim Curry's 'Professional Pirate' from Muppet Treasure Island).
Oh, and she perfomed 3 new songs.
'Festival Wind' is the title cut of the new album, and about going off to a festival. It's bright and fun.
'Golden Ring' is more meditative, about The One Ring. Heather seemed relieved to find that everyone present had seen LotR:FotR so she could just sing the song, and not have to try to encapsulate the movie's plot into 5 minutes. (If you're going to the 'Festival Wind' recoding show & you haven't seen Lord of the Rings, do everyone a favor and RENT THE MOVIE.)
Heather introduced 'The Bow Turns Back' by explaining that Phil is always waiting for her when she gets home with a cup of something hot & soothing. Since she often has to wire herself with coffee to manage a 5-hour drive home, she really appreciates it! 'The Bow Turns Back' was written on one of those long drives from Anacortes to her home near Portland.
I'd say the new album is looking pretty good... :)
