14th July 2009www.deadrockproductions.com and come play on our ning: diamonddead.ning.com Featuring music by Richard Hartley (Rocky Horror), created by Brian Cooper (Nymph). Voted Best Musical Pick of the Capital Fringe 2008, and traveling soon to New York Fringe. Come down and help us scare the theatre kids! Hi everyone! My friend Candi told me about this and I thought I'd put it up here in case anyone here has an act (or is friends with an act) that would be appropriate to the venue. There's a new group that has begun a monthly Burlesque night in Richmond, VA. They are always looking for new dancers and other acts because they are a variety show. They don't have a full website yet, but they do have a FB page - Richmond Varietease. Also, here's a review of Saturday night's show: http://rvanews.com/enterta Current Mood:

midnightscott @ : Midnight is closed this week, but for an update & some suggestions...
Midnight is closed again on Saturday, July 11, alas. We're engaged in a major league venue hunt that we hope will pay off shortly. We've actually located several places that would love to have our business, but none of them seems quite "right" for what we'd like to do. For a full update, plus a list of alternative events worth checking out this weekend--including Powerstrip Festival in Philly and a gothic scene AIDS benefit concert in Charlottesville--go to our website (www.dcmidnight.com). Friends of DJ JavieR might want to stop by Ascension (www.marylandascension.com) tonight, where he's celebrating his b'day! Just once I'd like to post an announcement to the right place on the first try, lol. Quick reminder Alter Ego was supposed to be open tonight. It's NOT. Friend of mine just called and asked, so I though it was worth re-posting. HOWEVER, Spellbound is on tomorrow with me, Steve Archer and Loss of Signal Free Jell-O shots and Champagne while supplies last. Sanctuary is ALL AGES on Monday. I hear a good friend of mine is DJing with DJ Transept. For you over 21, Alcohol is served. For EVERYONE, it's in VA, so you CAN smoke in the bar. 9th July 2009![]() ( Click here for approximate set times, ticket info, band descriptions, and YouTube music videos! ) 7th July 2009for Spellbound on Saturday July 11th! There's a birthday about to happen so we're gonna party like rock stars. Silly, black clad, spooky rock stars. And you're invited to dress up and join the fun! ![]() ( Details Under the Cut.... ) 5th July 2009FREE, all ages, and AWESOME. What more could you want to round out the weekend? ![]() Current Mood:
4th July 2009From Virginia, heads up Memorial Bridge is closed, and I'd avoid 14th street like the plague. I'm taking Arlignton Blvd to 50/66. I Imagine that Key Bridge is also a good alternate route, but probably has more pedestrians. I'm assuming parking should be fine since everyone else will be on the mall. See y'all in a few hours. PS. I'm using my Alter Ego icon cause it's ... wait for it ... EYE catching! No DJs, no vendors, no giveaways, no cake. Midnight is CLOSED this Saturday, July 4--a day always marked by serious traffic and parking problems in D.C. But we have suggestions for some other fun events you can hit this weekend, and an update on our pursuit of a new venue... ( Click for more info! ) 3rd July 2009

For anyone not interested in the mayhem of the National Mall, we'll be here for you! Parking is expected to be normal once you get to L Street...it's just getting into DC that may be a challenge. And remember, Metro will also be busy and running on a holiday schedule. So plan accordingly. We said star-spangled and we mean it! Wear something with stars on it for $2 off admission at the door. Spellbound offers super drink specials in addition to the cheapest (and strongest) drinks in the entire 18th Street area. Bring your friends, drink on the cheap...and dance the night away! 30th June 2009Someone asked so just a reminder Spellbound is open on July 4. We've Got Easy Rider and Fear & Loathing in the DVD players to keep your night surreal. Also Friday, July 3, Alter Ego is going to be christening Little Miss Whiskey's Golden Dollar. I'll be spinning with my pal Mike (some of you might recall his wedding party showing up at Chiaroscuro). Lots of punk, ska, rock/psycho/goth-abilly and deathrock in one of the most unique bars in DC And obviously Combichrist, et al, tonight at Jaxx. |
