Welcome to Alchemist Elite. This community is an elite community with a closed membership that is dedicated to the series Fullmetal Alchemist or Hagane no Renkinjutsushi.

Alchemist Elite is for those who are creating fanworks related to Fullmetal Alchemist. If you are admitted to one of the branches of the military after submitting an application, you will be assigned a rank and a superior officer. From there, you will be assigned fandom challenges and be given the option for advancement.

Only the best in the fandom are allowed to join the community ranks and only the best will reach the top.

To join the community simply fill out an application. You can find copies of the application in both stateexam_elite and alchemist_elite. It is required that you join both communities. After applying, if you are admitted, a rank will be suggested and assigned. A superior officer may elect to have you be his or her subordinate.

In this community, officers dedicate challenges and or promote you based upon your fandom input (on your own or challenge based) in a certain area.

You are required and expected to read and follow both the community and military rules and guidelines. There are no exceptions. If you break a rule, it is most likely cause for instant ban.

COMMUNITY RULES AND GUIDELINES

1. Play nice. No flaming other military members. Flaming someone's comments, art, or fanfiction will result in deletion of the comment or post. If you don't quit, you'll be banned or demoted.
2. Use the LJ-Cut. Some people are on really slow dial-up, may be checking the community from work or school, or just don't want to clog their friends pages. So, when posting a long fanfiction, a big picture or more than a couple small pictures: use the cut. If you don't know what the cut is, it is < lj-cut text="More..." > < /lj-cut > without the spaces by < and >.
3. This is not an adding community. Please don't make any posts in the comm. directly asking to have everyone add you to their friends list. addmeplease is a great community to meet new friends. Or, use comments.


4. Hide Lemons. Some people are watching the community from work or might be uncomfy about reading something lemony. So, hide it with the cut, please.
5. Memories. If you do NOT want your fanfiction or fanart logged in the memories, mention it in the post and it won't be.
6. Stay on Topic/Don't Advertise. Please don't advertise for other communities or for e-bay items. Please, stay on topic. Yes, Prince of Tennis is cool, but this a hagaren community.
7. Rules Check. When applying, to make sure you actually read the rules, include the phrase 'Elysia-chan is _____' in the subject and fill in the blank.
8. Icons. Post away. If you're posting thirty, use the cut. Try to make it so that they have at least something to do with Fullmetal Alchemist.
9. Fanart. Stolen fan-art is not permitted in this community. Link to the artist's web-site if you want to show something. If you want to post icons with fan-art in them, be prepared to have proof that you have the artist's permission. Not giving credit will be cause for ban. This includes doujinshi where the scanner or circle has not been credited.


10. Use English. No 1337 speak or CaPiTaLs AtTAcK speak. This will be cause for an instant ban. This community requires its members to be able to put together complete sentences.

MILITARY RULES AND GUIDELINES

1. Ranks. Upon acceptance into the commmunity, ranks are assigned by one of four generals (moderators). Any rank at or above Major may suggest for the rank and military dedication to be assigned.


2. Discharge. Only Generals have the ability to discharge military members. Any rank above or equal to Colonel can demote a member below his or her rank if that member is the officer's subordinate.


3. Military Dedication. The military dedications are: State Alchemist (Multiple Fandom), Soldier (Fanfiction), Office Personnel (Research and Discussion), Mercenary (Photographic Manipulation and Web-Design), Guard (No Fandom and Beta), Intelligence (Scanlator or Translator) and Civilian Consultant/Domestic Alchemist (Fanart and Cosplay).


4. Rank Listing. The military's rank listing can be found here.


5. Superior Officers. Your superior officer may or may not issue fandom challenges for your skill. Your superior officer is chosen by availability. It is not a community requirement to have a superior officer.


6. In-Activity. Without notice, military members avoiding duty will be discharged. A monthly check for in-activity will occur.


7. Admittance Suggestions. Each member above Major is required to post an admittance rank suggestion.



8. Membership. Each member is required to maintain a membership to both stateexam_elite and alchemist_elite.

1. When did you discover Fullmetal Alchemist? Who is the author of the manga and who is it licensed by?


2. Have you read all of the manga thus far? Have you seen all of the anime? Please summarize your two favorite episodes/manga chapters of all time (please include one near the beginning and one near the end).


3. Name the Four Elements and Three Principles of Alchemy.


4. Provide the full name (pen-name, family name, given name and alchemical name) of the real-life alchemist that Hohenheim appears to be based off of.


5. According to mythology and legend, who were the Elric brothers?


6. Name two canon pairings and name two fandom pairings. What are the definitions of canon and fandom?


7. The symbol on the back of Edward's coat is found in the drawings by a famous French alchemist rumored to have discovered the Philosopher's Stone. What was his name and time period? What is the symbolism behind the crucified snake, wings and crown?
