Athens Holiday [ Saturday + October 11 2008 ] tsaress [ mood | bouncy ] [ music | New Kids on the Block - Dirty Dancing | Powered by Last.fm ] So how best to start the little holiday story so many crazy things happened and cool things and funny things and I was going to make little lists but some of them need to be explained a lot more. I'm working on my pictures at the moment. The night before we set off was spent watching Bowie and drinking red wine. We got the coach from Leeds down to London and then I had this feeling I was going to get a cold sore so I thought best to get some cream. The coach stop is about 5-10min walk from train station so we just missed a train when we got there as airiddh1 went to pay for the tickets she released she didn't have a purse. So started the comical/scary time after much freak out I decided to run back to coach station. I remebered too late that I still had my backpack on. When I got there I freaked out as I could not find anyone when I did I told him he said they had found a purse and they had taken it to customer service area so I raced over after much begging because they we're going to ask for airiddh1 to come over and get it I phoned her and she told them everything that was in it. I ran back but it was too late we missed the train so we had to pay for the gatwick express. I thought I was going to pass out from all the running and I was starting to freak about getting on the plane as we we're really really late. We finally got to the check out desk to find out that we had to pay for the bags we thought it had already gone on the flight costs. Finally got on the plane ok and we felt so much better. We landed so happy to finally be on proper holiday. We thought we might have trouble with the finding the metro but will a little help of signs and a guy who didn't speak any english but helped us work out how to stamp our tickets and made sure we got on the right train. It wasn't too hard to get to the hotel by metro apart from one scary moment we're we released we we're on the wrong side of the platform. So we thought we got it sorted then we got to the final station and the exit it talked about was not there. We then we freak out and can't seem to see any road signs so we have no idea so after about 15mins of walking up and down we ask some taxi drivers and they point us. We had been walking on the right road beforejust not far enough down then we saw the hotel sign and we we're so happy to be there. So after a quick drop off of the cases and a freshern up we go upstairs to the roof top bar which has a view of the Acropolis all light up I in fact took a pic with my camera phone and sent it to my flickr account see pic below. We kind of got kicked out of the bar because it got really late and I was drunk off one drink because it must have been a triple or something. Then to bed. cmnt

the butterfly effect [ Friday + October 10 2008 ] saintgem [ mood | happy ] It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly's wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world. - Chaos Theory A couple of nights ago David wanted to watch The Butterfly Effect since he only saw part of it. It's an interesting movie, I liked it. It's not really a happy movie however I like the idea it entertains. When we were done watching the movie I told him how I made a similar theory when I was little: A single flower could change someones day. It's not as SUBTLE as the flutter of a butterfly's wings, but it's the same idea. Yellowstone Ghosts! [ Thursday + October 9 2008 ] chickadilly [ mood | sore ] [ music | Ancient Voices - Ah Nee Mah ] Grrrrr. My back is killing me. Every once in a while I'll get these annoying back spasms and when I do all I can do is sit around with a heating pad until it goes away. I took a muscle relaxer I had left from the last time this happened (or maybe it was the time before) and now I feel sort of spacey ... (I'm sure you're all thinking, "And how is that different from how you are usually?" Heh.) And now it is time for another ghostly entry in my month long series in honor of Halloween. :D I know I said I was going to post about the Ghost Named Fred today but honestly I'm just too tired to explain it all right now. It's kind of long story so instead I'll post about another ghost. Fred will be posted soon, though! (I know you're all just anxiously awaiting him ... *snorts*) So, I'll link to a few sites about Yellowstone Ghosts. Hay Torowilliams (or, Zombies Will Never Hurt You) [ Thursday + October 9 2008 ] iamsupernova Why do I feel like I'm making a confession? I really like Hayley Williams! I do! I mean, her band is less than musically brilliant, but a lot of their stuff is catchy and danceable and sometimes very good! And regardless, I seriously like her voice. She can be powerful and strong, or soft, and hit all the notes, and sing in a wide range. She's good. I just watched the behind-the-scenes video of her recording motion-capture for Guitar Hero and she's just so effing cool! I really, really want to see her live. I don't care about the rest of the band at all- they're all non-entities to me. They're three prettyboys who are clearly conforming to the ~popular look for bands like that, with their feathery straight hair and stupid headbands and american apparel gear. I'm not saying other bands don't do it- they all do it. But other bands have qualities that make them stick in my mind. Farro 1 & 2 and that other one- they do nothing to catch my attention. I'd like Hayley if she'd never had the firetop dye job, too. She's just so dynamic and fun and smiley! In other news, Buzznet zombified Ray Toro and it's hot. Ryan Ross.
