About
This community will serve as an archive for the finished version of Aki no Monogatari ("Tale of Autumn"), my 2006 National Novel Writing Month novel. It is a fanfiction of the recent anime/manga series, "Mushishi", also known as "Mushi-Shi", and places its focus on the main character, Ginko, and a few of my other favorite characters, and a couple that I created myself.

Oh, I'm [info]minako134, by the way. You may have seen me lurking around [info]mushishi.

Those who know Mushishi fairly well know that it's a series that's not really about Ginko, but about the world he lives in and the people he meets. My fanfiction goes a different route, and focuses on our one-eyed white-haired traveller, and explores his personality and character. I've tried to keep him as in-character as possible, but given that the original work gives only tid-bits of hints about Ginko's character over the whole series, I end up making up a lot of things just from inference. If he seems out of character... please understand, there really is only so much to go on. :D That's what this fanfiction is all about.

How the heck did I write such a long fanfiction, you ask?

"National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30. Valuing enthusiasm and perseverance over painstaking craft, NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared away by the time and effort involved. Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly." This and more information can be found at the National Novel Writing Month website. It's really an experience. I've done it twice. :O I recommend any and all fanfiction writers to get in on this. Be careful though, there are disadvantages as well as advantages in terms of writing something based on someone's pre-made world... But it worked out all right for me. :D

So, to see the entries, you must join the community. Once a member (which happens automatically), you will be able to see all Friends Only posts I make, which will be pretty much any. I just wanna be able to see how many people are reading, and also want to block my parents and non-livejournal users from just barging in on... certain chapters. ^o^;;;;

On that note, chapters will be posted with varying ratings, but most of them are G or PG. There are a couple R-rated, and one NC-17. But they will be clearly marked, as will be descriptions of what you will find within (straight/gay, language, etc.)...

Without further ado,
welcome to my novel!
