The Big Comfy Couch! [10 Jul 2009|07:30am]

molly_in_fay
I made a playlist of all the episodes of The Big Comfy Couch in order! As many as I could find, anyway. There are some missing, and the internet gives me conflicting information about how many seasons there were and what order the episodes were in. So if you can help me improve it, I would greatly appreciate that!

Hi all! I'm trying to remember some books from my childhood. Early-mid 90s is when they would have been published. The first one was a goldie locks and the three bears reversal type of story. The bear snuck into the three humans' house. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

And the second I don't really remember that many details about except that it was a halloween book and it the cover shaped like a pumpkin. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Does anybody remember the intro people on Disney Channel that were various robots? I think it may have been about mid-'90s, but I don't really know. I'm trying to remember their names for some reason, and can't. :(

Help? [13 Jun 2009|01:46pm]

Hi, all!

There was a film I remember watching as a little girl. I can't remember much about it besides it having Raggedy Ann in it... I can't remember if it was just about her, or if the film had other tales in it. All I know is that it wasn't in traditional cartoonish animation.

Sorry for being so vague, but that's all I remember. >< Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated!

(Also, does anyone remember this version of Snow White? I liked it a lot as a child. I wish it was still up on YouTube...)

Does anyone remember this tape that had Clifford & his family that went to check out his dog house or something and it was a sing a long style tape.  The woman was blonde and reminded me of Joanna Kerns now that I think about it and one of the songs was BINGO and at the end when they returned home it was time for Clifford to go to bed.  It wasn't animated it was live action and Clifford was someone in a costume.  I know it's vague but another thing is it was a family of four.

Thanks in advance to whoever can solve this! =)

Kids shows that should be brought back [01 Jun 2009|07:39am]

algemron
Following on from my previous post (kinda) and watching some kiddies TV i was wondering what shows should be brought back and revamped (if they actually need to be revamped) so as to show the children what a good show is

In this i mean the The Mysterious Cities of Gold (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mysterious_Cities_of_Gold) that i loved as a child (shame i can only find it in french now)

I personally dont think that this would need to be redone as it would stand the test of time

There was a book I used to love when I was younger and I could use some help with the title. It was about these little pigs and the child in the book made them using socks (i think) and used buttons for the eyes. I also believe they showed you how to make your won in the back of the book. I am going to be an aunt in a few months and would love to purchase the book for the baby. Any help you can give would be wonderful! Thanks!

If someone could help me, that would be awesome. There was this book I loved as a kid (in the late 80's to very early 90's). It was about a little boy who had a set of markers that wouldn't wash off, no matter what he did. It was a childrens book. I cant remember anything else.

Any help would be amazing!

Heffalumps and woozles [17 May 2009|06:01pm]

Just now I remembered a Winnie the Pooh movie that used to scare me sh*tless when I was a kid. Specifically the song "Heffalumps and Woozles" in "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day." Did that song scare the cr*p out of anyone else, too?

Pinocchio Live Action Musical? [14 May 2009|06:23pm]

I can't seem to find any information about this anywhere. But does anyone remember this version of Pinocchio?

Basically it was a live action musical, and Pinocchio was played by a female, and she wore a green outfit. It starts out with Geppetto in his house, singing something like, "I'm talking to myself again." Once Pinocchio comes alive, he asks about the objects around the room. A lot of the characters were dressed up in nice costumes, such as the cats. It's a pretty fun adaption, and I really miss it, yet I can't find it anywhere! There's no info that I can find on imdb, youtube or amazon. Was wondering if anyone remembers this?

EDIT: Thanks to [info]softpaw  I was able to find it.

Here's a clip.

Perhaps you can help me remember the names of a couple Wishbone episodes

All I can remember is the very end of one episode, where Wishbone says:  "And all the world's a stage...for this little dog..." and the other episode where he says: "And  I call this scratch that scratch..." and he scratches his collar and the bell on his collar rings.

Can anyone help me with that?  Those two episodes just popped into my head and I cannot remember which ones they are!

Thank you in advance! :D

When I was a kid, Timmy Mallet was the Saturday Morning TV king. Then that gave way to Ghost Train, and I think Ghost Train alternated with something else. I don't know.

The format is the same today: cartoons, etc are presented within a frame-programme which involves games, silliness, and a lot of gunge!

But I find that some children's TV presenters, especially today, have a completely fake smile, and are clearly just doing it while they wait for their careers to start. Some of them are downright condescending, talking down to the children watching, and I just want to grab these people and scream at them "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I'D GIVE TO HAVE YOUR JOB?!"

I think the exception, in recent times, has been Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow. They clearly love what they're doing, clearly aspire to be as cool as the kids watching them... and there's a cleverness to the madness they produce. A genius, even. Like BOGEYS! And the rewrite-the-dictionary game.

YAAAAAY for Dick and Dom! They're no longer doing Bungalow, but they are doing a hilarious fantasy-adventure spoof called The Legend of Dick and Dom. Again, what sets this apart from other children's television is the absolute lack of condescention, and a definite sophistication in the humour, even though it's cleverly intertwined with the manic slapstick and gunge of the whole thing.

By the way, if you're not from the UK, do you have any idea what I'm talking about? I'm not sure if Dick and Dom have travelled.

Hi, I was looking for a couple of things, and I figured here was the place to ask.
First, does anyone have the cassette or CD of Wee Sing Around the World that you could upload?
Second, when I was a kid I had a tape of dinosaur songs that I'd like to find if I can. It wasn't Wee Sing, although I also had that one. This was a tape of song parodies of pop/rock 'n roll songs. I just looked on google, and the name of it is possible Dino Sing Alongs: Prehistoric Pop. Some of the songs were:
Born to Be Extinct
Where Have All the Dinosaurs Gone
I'm Not So Bad
He's a Carnivore

Anyone have this album as well? There are others from my childhood I'm trying to recapture, but I'll test the waters with these first, and then maybe come back asking after others. Thanks!
