If you have AFI fan fiction, fanvids, and fan art, I thought this might be of interest as a way of helping your promote your work and get a bigger audience: FanWorksFinder: AFI.
The site is basically a link archive for that material. It is reader, viewer centric. It is searchable. You can manually submit your works or find works that have been added from other sites automatically, because the FanWorksFinder pulls their RSS feed in. If you like a piece of fan fiction, fan art, a fan vid, you can rec it so others can easily find it. If you think it is crap, you can bury it to make it less likely that people will accidentally stumble across it. You can write recs for all that material ON SITE, for other READERS. It isn't centered around the idea of putting the vidder, writer and artist on top. The reader is the priority.
The site was created by screwthedaisies and has a support community at fanworksfinder. screwthedaisies runs RockFic so she knows fandom and she knows the perspective of people writing BandFic. So yeah, I highly plug it and hopefully AFI fans can totally represent.
Hey, if you don't know about it, there is the history of fan fiction wiki project which is basically as stated: A wiki dedicated to chronicling the history of fan fiction. It desperately needs contributions and assistance with updating articles from people other than myself.
A page I thought might be of interest to you is AFI which needs work in a couple of areas including identifying the well known and influential fans, finding out important dates and events that took place in the community, any fandom specific terminology and details of any kerfluffles that took place in the community. If you have the time and inclination, I would be extremely grateful for any updates you could make to the AFI article or any other article.
Hey. Thought I'd let everyone know there's an AFI interview in issue 51 of Black Velvet. It's not out yet, but will be out at the end of this month. It's an interview with Jade and Hunter and it's based on a superstition theme (because the interview took place on Friday the 13th). The questions aren't all about superstitions but they stem from superstition-related quotes (if you know what I mean!). It's hard to explain but you should read it! There's more info at http://www.blackvelvetmagazine.com/nextissue.htm
Hi there! I'm new to the comm, pretty new to AFI in general, and I come seeking the advice of more experienced fans.
My friend and I are going to our very first AFI show pretty soon - it's at a fairly small venue, the kind where the tickets are all general admission and seating is a first-come-first-serve kinda thing. We've been debating how early we should show up in order to get good seats, so I thought I'd take a kind of general poll, and see how far in advance of show time those of you who've been lucky enough to see them live like to get there.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone happened to have the sheet music for the piano intro to 'Silver & Cold'? Even if you just sat listening to the song until you think you figured it out... I wanna know about it!
Hey guys, for any of you talented writers out there who have AFI fan fiction, join the new community, afictioninside. Any rating as well as type of fiction is allowed, so if you're interested please join.
:waves: I'm new here. As I joined I read the info page, and though I'd call myself and elitist AFI fan, I'm not a douche. I swear. My names Eric, I'm 20 and have been a fan for about 7 years.
So, what does everyone think of Decemberunderground?
Ok, I need one more favor. I'm sorry to keep doing this.
I'm making a compliation for someone who has never heard AFI before. I spent a good many hours creating the perfect mix and the perfect order but I have one problem. I need to songs. I need Morningstar and I need God Called in Sick today. For some reason they won't burn off my CD's and I have no idea why, and even if they did I don't want them with the bonus tracks.
So if someone could please help me, it's for a present. I'm trying to get it done before tomorrow.
Hi, new here. I have a favor to ask you guys. This morning, I heard "Miss Murder" on the radio for the first time (radio sucks around here, so I don't listen to it that often), and I was surprised to discover that the bridge (the part that begins, "What's the hook, the twist within this verbose mystery...") was totally different, and I rather like it. I was wondering if anyone has the mp3 of this version of the radio version of this song; my friend and I have been searching everywhere for it and can't find it anywhere.
