afi__challenge! This is the weekly icontest community for the band AFI (A Fire Inside, for those of you unfamiliar with them). Each week a theme/picture(s)/base(s)/lyrics will be posted and you will be given a certain amount of time to create an icon. All submissions are done through comments, so only the mods will have posting access at this time.

Rules
1. Above all, your submissions must fit LJ's icon standards: 100x100 or smaller, 40kb or smaller, and .gif/.jpg/.png formats only.
2. If an image, or multiple images, are posted for you to use, use ONLY the images provided. Any blending of outside images will result in disqualification.
3. Your entry must be original. Using a base someone else has cropped, unless it is one provided for you, is unacceptable - as is using an icon you've made previous to the challenge. **unless otherwise stated**
4. Your entry must be anonymous. Don't post it in icon communities or use it before voting is done. If this happens, your icon will be disqualified.
5. Brushes, borders, effects, text, colourization, textures, animation, etc. are allowed for your icons, unless otherwise stated in specific challenge rules.
Submissions
1. The start of each contest will be marked by a post containing all the information you will need: picture(s)/base(s)/lyrics/theme, date due, max number of icons to be submitted, any specific rules for that challenge, etc. Entries are to be submitted in a screened comment in that post only so that only the mods and the entrant can see the submission.
2. You will need a host, such as Photobucket or Image Shack, that allows direct linking. If we can't see the icon, it won't be included.
3. When responding with your submission, please use the img src and url versions in the following format:

Voting
1. DO NOT VOTE FOR YOURSELF, or your icon will be disqualified.
2. Do not ask other people to vote for you. It defeats the purpose of anonymous entries.
3. All votes will be screened.
4. Unless there aren't enough entries recieved, the places will stand thus:

second place
third place

special category (optional/to be announced at start of each contest)
