~ABOUT~

Welcome to affinity_rating! This community is made to be a rating community… not for you, but for your characters!

The surveys are meant to be taken "In-Character". As in you're taking it in your character's mindset, using first person. (If you really want to you can do it, but please mention it's for you and not your character. ;D)

We will attempt to come up with theme applications that you can take after your character has been approved.

We are anime/manga friendly, so a monthly theme might be an anime stamping theme. If you don’t like anime or manga you can choose not to do it, but please, no bashing.

You can have multiple characters do a theme, but only after your individual characters have been stamped with the entry application.

Read the rules~ We have a "three-strikes and you're out" thing.

Stay active! We don't want a dead community. Any promotions would be greatly appreciated.

~RULES~

1. No flaming!
2. You MUST be a member to post. You are not allowed to post other people’s characters. This is a community for your original characters.
3. To show that you’ve read the rules, please put ‘Analogy? Word’ or a variation thereof in your post subject. You will be reminded by a mod if you don't.
4. Please review your characters thoroughly and make sure that every part is clearly defined. Treat every question as a "why". Please define your character’s abilities and why they have them and explain them clearly and portray them in a realistic light.
5. You must vote on at least 3 applications if available. If there are less than five or no applications, please state so. Can't find any Unstamped Applications? Click here!
6. Please use a lj-cut. It's already included in the survey, to make things easier.
7. Two applications at a time. Once an application has been stamped, you are allowed to submit another.
8. Please type coherently: NoN3 0f Th15 or this omg plz liek totaly.
9. Your character will be stamped within a 5-7 votes or a week or so.

~The Biggie + Rule 10~

10. Please, please... no Mary-Sues or Fan-Characters.
We define Fan-Characters as such: Characters created from somebody else's universe (for example, Lord of the Rings.) This doesn't mean you can't have an elf, it just means you can't have it living in Middle Earth. We allow characters of every kind, though they must be of your own devising.
If we find the character crossing the line from 'well-rounded' to 'Mary-Sue', we will ask you to remove or edit your post. If not done within 48 hours, we will not hesitate to remove it for you. We may also ask you to expand on areas if we find them lacking (this does not mean we consider your character a Mary-Sue).

~RESTAMPING~

You may get a re-stamp for your character if you do not feel the vote your character received suits them. Wait three weeks to do so. This counts as one of your applications.

Theme Applications: We'll be doing a lot of themes. Once you've submitted your entry applicaton, you'll be able to submit theme applications. Please include the link to your character's entry application in the survey. You may choose not to do the themes if you like. If there is a theme that you would be interested in doing, contact the maintainers with your idea.
