The new Trinity So I've been working on converting the Trinity Universe over to the new ruleset as laid out in the
World of Darkness rulebook. Ordinarily this sort of thing would quickly become an ebook project, but in this case, since I want to actually include all the rules, it'll likely remain strictly for my own purposes only. However, if I'm gonna do something, I want it done right.
Among the other things I'm changing, I decided to change the name of
Trinity (again).
For those unaware, the original name of the game was
Æon. This was cool, because if everything had worked out, all three games would have A-names:
Adventure!,
Aberrant,
Æon. But two weeks after
Æon was released, MTV started complaining that a sci-fi property called
Æon was too confusingly similar to their
Æon Flux property. Rather than deal with costly litigation, White Wolf changed the name to
Trinity.
Anyhow, as long as I'm changing whatever I like for the nTU, I decided I'd bring back the A naming convention. But not
Æon. Something new. We're moving forward, not backward, here. Preferably an "AE" word. So, after looking up every single AE word I could find in the dictionary, I came across "aegis." It has two meanings:
kindly endorsement and guidance, and
armor plate that protects the chest; the front part of a cuirass. Sounds like a good description of the Æon Trinity and the psi orders, respectively.
As part of my vision, each game line will have a signature colour, just like the nWOD books do. The TU rulebook is purplish, Adventure! is yellow, Aberrant is blue, and Aegis is red.
So, the rambling point of this story leads me to this. Earlier today I whipped up
( this ).
