| August 3, 2007: Project Utopiareceives a permanent "advisory" seat on the UN Security Council. Many political observers credit the unprecedented move as stemming from Utopia's agreement to pay off the five Security Council members' debts to the UN, totalling $2.6 billion. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Ever since WW announced the Scion series I've been assuming that it will essentially be a new version of Aberrant, in much the same way that the new Vampire-Werewolf-Mage triumvirate are reboots of the originals yet share nothing in common with their predecessors. Especially since Scion has been announced as a series of three books, Hero Demigod & God, I've been wondering if each will compare to the Trinityverse's concepts of Daredevil, Stalwart & Psion.
So, has anybody seen or read the new Scion book? And does it compare to the Trinityverse books in any way?
I'm keen to recreate Aberrant using the nWoD rules, so I'll probably end up buying the Scion books either way. I'm just curious if anybody reading this might know more than me right now. | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| I've completed the official timeline for all Aberrant books from the core rulebook through to Aberrant: Underworld and Aberrant: Brainwaves (I consider Brainwaves official because it was written under contract with the intention of getting published). Fan works, while often excellently done, do not fall under the aegis of the Wiki, so are not represented.
So I have currently covered Adventure! and all the aforementioned Aberrant books. You can browse the complete timeline here.
I'm beginning work on my collection of Trinity books shortly. | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| I've updated and expanded my collection of WW avatars. They're free for everyone to use; just don't claim that you made them.
I'm linking to the LJ-sized ones, but you can get them in pretty much any size you like (optimum 120x120).
Aberrant: 20 to chose from
Trinity: 18 to chose from
Adventure! is available, but not yet updated to a higher resolution. I'm adding more icons all the time. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Some of you will, I'm sure, remember the Trinity Storytellers Handbook project I, and many others, were working on, under the aegis of "Continuing the Continuum." It was the first of many projects intended to continue the Trinity Universe as I believe the creators would have intended (having had many conversations with both developers and authors).
Well, that was clearly going nowhere, and I don't mind accepting some of the blame for that.
So CtheC is no longer around.
Instead, I've set up a Wiki project, called RPGBooks (catchy title). Using the Wiki format, I encourage people to contribute to various ebooks and help develop them to community standards. It'll take a while, but at least something will be getting done. Eventually, the community will have created some new quality ebooks.
I've placed most of the TSH there, and the outline to the Aberrant ST Handbook. To come will be the Trinity: Battleground - LoneStar book. Take a peek through it. If you see something which interests you, go ahead and add something. Even if it's just copyediting. Or if you have a great idea to add to the book. Or whatever. I'll be adding some point form notes to empty sections and figuring out exactly how I want to do redlines in the near future, so there's a lot to build off of.
If you want to use RPGBooks to develop your own ebooks, I'd be happy to help you out. | comments: Leave a comment |

| | How is everyone's online gaming experience these days? EurOpNet is always open to new games or gamers, but there are only two or three games running there right now. I'm kind of missing the glory days. Is the Continuum scene somewhere else these days, or has there just been a decline of interest? | comments: 2 comments or Leave a comment |
| Anyone looking to play Trinity?
BlueNinja (a new but committed storyteller) has opened a new Trin game on EurOpNet, and is looking for four more players. | comments: Leave a comment |
| Hey, all. Sorry for the interruption, but I've got something that may be of interest to those of you who play World of Warcraft. I'm setting up guilds specifically for White Wolf fans. The emphasis will be on roleplaying. And what makes our guild different is that, through use of the MyQuests AddOn, I'll be setting up actual quests you can go on and complete for actual tangible rewards: money, equipment, promotion within the guild. The quests will be largely tongue-in-cheek White Wolf references, but firmly set in the WoW universe.
If you're interested, the guilds are Lupus Albus for the Alliance and Salmu Kalb for the Horde. The website is wow.wolf-spoor.org. | comments: Leave a comment |
| As I reported on CtheC (and ws_continuum):
The Trinity Storytellers Handbook is taking a long time to finish. Far longer than I thought.
So rather than keep everyone in suspense indefinitely, I'm just going to release the parts as they're finished. Hopefully this should keep some of you interested, and maybe encourage faster completion of yet-unfinished chapters. ;)
Keep in mind that content may change as chapters are released. See the Downloads section for the files, and discuss everything in our forums.

| There's been a debate raging for some time whether or not Adventure!'s daredevils are "special" in some way, like psions and novas, or whether they were "just" lucky or very skilled.
Well, the Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center in Seattle has settled the score. The article is called "Scientists Close in on the 'Daredevil' Gene."
Can't get more straightforward than that. ;) | comments: Leave a comment |
| In case any of you are curious, this summer I am going to expirement with a Trinity LARP using an amalgamation of the new MET and the old Storyteller version of the game. One rule is vital to what I am doing: all things must be as simple as possible, even at the cost of realism. I hope to have some real info posted in the next few days, so anyone that wants to advise or lurk, join the community. http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=odd_trinity | comments: Leave a comment |
| (xposted from my own journal; edited 9:11 PM to correct mood icon and finish final question)
camwyn quoted her answer to lots42's question "What would your favorite fandom be like if it took place a hundred years earlier?" In the same spirit, I'll quote mine:
As I noted on camwyn's journal, one of the people working with me on the Trinity Storytellers Handbook is writing the alternate settings chapter, one of which involves Trinity's psions appearing in the early 21st century (instead of the early 22nd) in place of Aberrant's novas. You'll get the details if we ever accidentally get our shit together and finish the book.
If the Nova Age had happened from 1898 to the mid-20th century, things would have been sufficiently different to deserve an entire post. If the Hammersmith Incident (from Adventure!) had happened in 1822, the Inspiration Age would probably have looked downright Gothic (if not actually Gothic-[Steam]Punk).
But, again as I asked J., does it have to be a whole century? I've long thought that the Trinity Universe might have been an interesting place if the Inspiration Age, instead of ending in the forties/fifties and taking most Inspiration with it, had segued into a Stalwart Golden Age which became a Nova Silver Age. Alas, that wasn't what Andrew Bates and company had in mind.
Comments, anyone? Particularly on the early Nova Age? | comments: Leave a comment |

| Forgive the plug, everyone.
I've got a White Wolf Wiki set up, and it needs your input. We really don't have many Trinity Universe articles there right now. So if you're feeling up to it, go ahead and start adding.
There are some Age of Sorrows articles and a Trinity Universe timeline up, if you'd like to see the general format we're going for.
With your help, we can make this the most comprehensive White Wolf encyclopedia available! | comments: Leave a comment |
