FF7 Early File - A Conversation with Rufus

A conversation with Rufus
「ブーゲンハーゲンを白の間に降ろす」「ロケット作戦失敗イベント」
のふたつをこなしている状態で、飛空艇に乗ってかつ、
コクピットを呼び出したら発生。
"Bugenhagen dropped off in the White Space" "The failure of Rocket's attack event"
after those two events have been handled, once you board the Airship again,
you'll be called called to the cockpit to start this squence.
(Bugenhagen in the White Space refers to the Key of the Ancients scene.
BTW, in case anyone is curious 飛空艇 or "Tosoratei" is Airship in kanji)
ケット・シー「あの、クラウドはん。
ルファウスがあんたさんと話したいって言ってますのや」
Cait Sith: Um, Mistah Cloud.
Rufus would like to have a discussion with you.
(Just want to cite that Cait Sith speaks in Kansai-ben, Kyoto dialect.)
クラウド「よし、つなげ」
Cloud: Okay, give me the phone.
ケット・シー「ちがいますのや。直接会って話したいと」
Cait Sith: No, not like that. He wants to speak to you in person.
クラウド「……場所は？」
Cloud: ......Where?
ケット・シー「ゴールゴソーサー」
Cait Sith: The Gold Saucer.
ゴールゴソーサー（場所未定、観覧車でも乗る？）
At the Gold Saucer (Haven't decided the location, maybe they could board the Feris Wheel?)
(LOL! We're going to assume that this next scene happens with Cloud and Rufus riding a Feris Wheel together. Because that would be terribly funny)
ルファウス「ひさしぶりだな。セフィロスはどうしてる？」
Rufus: It's been a while. And how is Sephiroth?
(Cloud: Oh he's fine. We've been thinking about getting a dog or maybe a cat... and how is Tseng? You guys still planning to fix up that place in Costa Del Sol?
*bricked*)

Cloud pauses here
ルファウス「おやおや。セフィロス・コピーのキミにもわからばいのか？」
Rufus: Hey now. Aren't you suposed to be a Sephiroth Clone?
(Just noting that Rufus is speaking informally to Cloud during this part. Almost friendly-like.)
クラウド「俺は……ちがう。俺は……子どもだった。
自分で作り出した幻想の世界に生きていたんだ。
もう幻想はいらない。もうソルジャーどっこはいやめだ。
俺はただのクラウドだ」
Cloud: I'm......different. I'm......just a kid.
I produced an illusionary world to live in.
An unnecessary illusion. And I didn't even get into SOLDIER.
So I'm just Cloud.
ルファウス「……なるほど。では、ただのクラウドくん。
いまにもメテオがこの星を直撃しようとしている。
この危機をキミたちはどうしとうと言うのだ？」
Rufus: .......I see. Well then, just Cloud-kun.
Right now, Meteor is aimed to hit our planet directly.
What does your group have to say about this crisis?
(Cloud-kun :D Rufus likes using -kun though. In the Japanese version he even says "Heidegger-kun" XD)
クラウド「俺たちは……。俺たちは星の力を借りて
……星と古代種、そして俺たちの力を合わせて……」
Cloud: We are....... We are borrowing the Planet's power
......The Planet and the Ancients, we'll join forces with them......
ルファウス「フッフッフ……。私に言わせればそれもおとぎ話。
子どもにでも聞かせてやるがいい。
さて現実の話をしようか」
Rufus: Ha ha ha...... that is quite the story if I might say so.
You may be a kid but you're a good informant.
Well, if your story is true it might be useful.

ルファウス「メテオはセフィロスが呼んでいる。
つまりセフィロスがいなくなればメテオは進路を変更する。
これは我々の結論だ。我々はセフィロスを倒す。そのための準備も整った。
お前たちが何をやろうとお前の勝手だ。ただし！我々の邪魔をするな。
これは我々が生き残る最後のチャンスだからな」
Rufus: So Sephiroth has called Meteor.
And in short we believe he can change it's course.
That's our conclusion at least. But we will defeat Sephiroth. For that reason we've been gathering provisions.
Whatever you intend to do is your own decision. However! Don't get in our way
This may be our last chance at survival.
(And now he's switched back to formal speech mode

Rufus starts to leave.
ルファウス「ひとつ聞きたい。
お前たちが星を救えるというそのバカげた自信の根拠はなんだ？」
Rufus: Hear out one more question.
Where does your group find the ridiculous self-confidence to say that you'll save this Planet?
クラウド「………………エアリス」
Cloud: ..................Aeris.
(Okay now everyone all together - AWWWWWWWW!)
ルファウスには聞こえない。
Rufus doesn't hear that.
ルファウス「なんだって？」
Rufus: What was that?
クラウド「あんたに言ってもわからないさ」
Cloud: I don't know what else to tell you.
(...Why does Cloud use "anta"? Really, it's always been weird to me... it's a rather familiar and almost feminine pronoun. >_>;;; )
ルファウス、やれやれポーズ。立ち去る。クラウドひとりだと。
Rufus pauses in dissappointment. Then he leaves. Cloud is left alone.
クラウド「エアリス……。これでいいんだよな」
Cloud: Aeris....... That went well.
※初期段階では、魔晄キャノンがバリアへ発射される前に、
ルファウスとクラウドの会談が予定されちた。
クラウドたちと意見は異なるものの真剣に星の危機を回避しようとするルファウスの姿が
※In the intial stages, after the Mako Cannon shoots Sephiroth's barrier,
we had plans for a conversation between Rufus and Cloud.
Even though the party disagrees with him over the seriousness of the Planet's crisis, Rufus' actions still cut an impressive figure.
Next up is.... bonus Zangan scene! XD; Oh, come on, he's cool and you know.
