Release Date!
Hello! Long-time lurker, first-time poster here; sorry for the lack of an introduction, but I'm super excited because...

According to the news section of the Official US Site, AC's coming out April 25th, KHII voice actors are back (no Jessica Alba as was previously reported), and all is right with the world. Granted, this is the same official site that had the countdown for the September 14th date that turned out to be a "rumor", but this looks legit.

(I hate the design for the US site, if you don't mind me saying so)

According to the recent update, we'll be getting a 2-disc DVD with the story digest, deleted scenes, a "making of" featurette, the Venice footage, and Compilation trailers. No word on Last Order that I can see, but I wouldn't write it out yet. Of course, there's also the UMD that will be released simultaneously.

Edit #2: So the site seems to be experiencing some, ah, problems. I'll re-iterate one of my comments here: I'm hoping the webmaster goofed and posted what looks to be a press release early, and that we'll get the official official press release in a few days (meaning the April date stays the same, we just act surprised when they announce it again. :p); Square just made its KHII announcement, after all, though I suppose anything's possible at this point. :/

Well, THIS is nice to see. Just a little more official-looking than some of the other dates that've been released.

And holy crap, Mena Suvari as Aerith? I kinda like that. >>

No kidding! I really, really, can't stand this reliance on flash the big corporations seem to fall into. I mean, some flash makes things look snazzy, but you have to remember that the site's purpose is to help people access information.

I'm still anxious to hear about the rest of the cast. Wally Wingert's (sp? I'm butchering all these poor actors' names...) the only one I've seen acknowledge it on his official site, so he's the only one outside of these three I think we can count...? O_o;

IMDB claims that Paul Dobson (Escaflowne, Inuyasha) was picked for Sephiroth's voice.

I'm pretty skeptical about that, but it seems more unlikely than if it was some big name celebrity randomly listed.

Oh, that's a weird choice -if it's true-. I mean, I liked his voice for Folken but picturing it coming out of Sephiroth's mouth is weird. I wonder if that's true now. :o! Thanks for the info! :3

It's easy to say "meh it'll probably get pushed back again," but this time it looks pretty certain. :D I suspected they would dub it while they're dubbing KH2. Awesome-o, this should be out in Australia around my birthday.

"Deleted scenes." I wonder if that'll be the old footage from the earlier trailers.

I think so. Someone posted a bunch of "deleted scenes" in here a while back, and it was a bunch of stuff from the early trailers. *nods* I saved the file, if you want it. :P I really wish they'd kept in the scene with Cloud on the highway, where Kadaj shoots all those funny blue rocket thingers at him. XD; Not sure what's they're called, so they're funny blue rocket thingers.

That's certainly possible; there were other deleted scenes no shown in trailers included on Advent Pieces, but I'm not sure if those were in addition to trailer footage (if that makes any sense?). Like, there was some alternate/extended dialogue between Cloud and Sephiroth and whatnot. I personally only have the regular version, so don't quote me on that. :x

I don't know. :/ I've been wondering if the lip syncing with the English will have an affect on the availability of a Japanese audio, too. Does anyone know how that works? Would they have to include two full movies on the DVD to have two audio tracks?

I really have know idea how that works. O_o;

I just went and looked at the Official US Site, and clicked on News. The only thing I could read was Feb. 10, 2006, which was underlined, and that was it. Nothing else. :\ What happened?

Despite my better judgement, my hopes are in fact rising. I hope to God they didn't jump the gun with this release date.
