The Angband sweater
I'm not quite finished, but since I am not good at self-portraits, I don't think it will really matter if I don't wait until I am.

So, I present: the Angband sweater.

Edit: In answer to your questions, the sweater is an adaptation of Rogue, in a modification of the 39'' size to allow for my row gauge being too small. It took me 15 balls of Debbie Bliss Merino Aran (just about exactly; I had maybe two yards of yarn left over).

The spider is from Barbara Walker's "Charted Knitting Designs". The tree is something I designed, based on the one on Arwen's banner at the end of Return of the King. I'm not completely happy with the way it turned out; I'd want to rework the tree before I transcribed the pattern.

Third edit: The completed, revised chart has been made and is here.

I really like the tree, and the spider! Great use of motif adaptation, I'd love to see a close up of how you worked the tree branches up into the existing hood cabling chart :)

That's lovely. Is it an adaptation of the Rogue sweater? I was looking at that this weekend, thinking about making it (sometime in the future when all of my current projects are done).

I'm in awe - and Craving them!! I'm nearly done with rogue - and it's been a pleasure to knit - so if you're selling patterns, I'll buy!

Wow.

That is seriously the best sweater I've seen in a long time.

You should be very proud!

Did you make up the chart for the tree and spider yourself?

Brilliant, beautiful, and awe-inspiring. I would LOVE the chart for the tree when you re-work it, if you'd be willing to share. Or even text instructions.

Or even text instructions.

Oh dear god no. If instructions are made, they will be charted.

Ok, I need to hurry up and learn how to do cabling in preparation for you posting the tree details... you will, won't you? Wonderful design, and being that I'm working in the bliss merino aran right now I can imagine just how soft and lovely it is :)
