Name: Killer Rabbit
Classification: Rodent, Mammal
Physical Characteristics: Classic rabbit, most commonly see with white fur. Adults seem to be from 3-6 pounds, short-haired. While they look like normal rabbits, they have sharp teeth that line the top and bottom of their mouths. Two long fangs are the most obvious feature along with its wide-opening mouth.
Food: Carnivorous, seems to be anything that has blood.
Habitat: Seems to be more akin to the outer regions of the City and very numerous in the Wastelands.
Lifespan: Unknown
Additional Information: Tame unless provoked. Easy to mistake with normal rabbits. Use caution when approaching any rodent. Unknown if carrying disease.

Name: Sandworm
Classification: Megadrile
Physical Characteristics: Appearance is very similar to that of a common earthworm. They have Crystalline teeth for dealing primarily with rocks and sand. Teeth are arranged around the rim of it's mouth. Size can vary up to hundreds of metres in length.
Food: Omnivore
Habitat: Underground in the sandy areas of the Wastelands.
Lifespan: Unknown
Additional Information: Young are tamer than adults. Adults are very protective of their own and territorial. Tend to attack solo but can attack in groups. Can be eaten.

Growing Up and Down ( 7/6 - 7/12 )
Sometimes people just need to suck it up and grow up. Other times, people need to be able to connect with their inner child. Never has it been so amazingly literal. People will regress mentally, physically, or both to a point in their lives long before they came here, while others will find themselves much older than they've ever been.

Project Reversal Attempts ( 7/20 - 7/23)
The Unified Universe Project has been working in secret to try and reverse the affects of their mistake. On these days, they will be attempting to de-compress time, and in that even the Safe Zone has become no longer safe. Buildings may disappear entirely, monsters that once roamed only the Wastelands will come in - it will be like there was no Safe Zone at all.

The Se7en Virtues ( 7/24 - 7/30)

Instead of the sins, the Animus want us to personify the best characteristics one can have. For this week, people will be completely living up to one of the seven virtues. Never has Adstringendum been such a lovely, helpful place!

Living the Nightmare ( 8/10 - 8/16)

Time and space being compressed brings up some things that you would rather forget. People affected by it get trapped in one of their memories, reliving it as it's happening in the exact moment - or have very vivid flashbacks and can't think of anything else. Is it a memory of a time loved but long-past? Or a horror that was pushed back into the dark recesses of the mind? Either way, there is no escaping what you've lived once, and are forced to live through again.

Gender-Bending ( 8/24 - 8/30)

The Animus have decided that we need to appreciate each of us for who we are, and that includes understanding what it's like...for the other gender first-hand~ Boys become girls and girls become boys, having to deal with showering in ways you never thought you would have to, while the unaffected get to laugh and point at other's misfortune.

✗ THE STORY
It was the year 2008 that it happened. A certain group in the scientific community was taking that step forward into the future, aspiring to attain the answer to the universe that we all have sought for thousands of years. The Unified Universe Project was put into action, and that summer the group behind it was to reveal their miraculous invention: the Equator. As the name states, it was to derive the equation that would answer everything, give the key to the universe and all within it. A complicated project, years in planning, a product of their hopes and dreams. July 29th, 2008, with billions of people across the world watching a live broadcast, their ideas were put to the test, and the machine was activated. And it could not have gone more wrong. An equation it did derive, but not to their liking. Bits of the special universe began to expand and collapse, and the space-time that held reality together collapsed, caving and distorting the world into something no one recognized. At least...as a whole.	For those that survived, the world they found themselves in was familiar and strange at the same time. Creatures and beings thought never to exist outside of the imagination were suddenly real. The Unified Universe Project sought to explain the mystery, and began to realize that it was no, in fact, that the universe had collapsed or broken in... ...It was that time itself had compressed, and the fluctuations of the every changing and growing universe were pressed into one point, bringing into existence things long gone and things to come.　Peoples from different worlds and different times, billions of years and different universe collapses and rebirths apart, all in the same place. While all the new groups of beings find themselves together, the Unified Universe Project is determined to try and reverse the effects, and return space and time to their normal states. While the confused wander the broken mishmash of landscapes, some beings do not take lightly to have their existence so altered...
✗ THE PREMISE
The game begins after the Time Compression, where all worlds have been squished into one. The landscape is that of destroyed cities and often discolored forests, fields, and the ever changing sky. It looks like a constant battle of one reality trying to overtake the other, but never quite making it. As time continues to squeeze into one single reality, people are knocked out, only to find themselves woken up in the strange new place. Each series/game/movie/book/show will be taken as a separate universe that has been/is being compressed. Characters will arrive as their world becomes assimilated. Because it is not only space, but time that is compressed, even characters from the same world may find themselves coming into contact with someone they know that seems to be from their future or past. (You can take a character from any point in their series). While the Unified Universe Project works to reverse the problem, in the meantime they have developed a Palm Pilot-like device that people all over can use to keep updated on the state of the project and to communicate with each other. However, in their efforts to fix their mistake, the Project seems to make more, causing the world to change even more. The Spirits take their chances as well to take out their anger on the people by messing with their times, genetic make-up, and more. Currently Accepting Applications

Common terms and vocab you may see used in the RP! Just for reference. List may be added to as RP progresses!

✗ Adstringéndum The world created from the compressed state of time, where the inhabitants of different universes find themselves. Named after the Latin word for "compression".

✗ Animus Spirits stuck in the compressed world. Known to be easily angered and often meddle in the affairs of others to varying degrees. Cannot be seen, only felt.

✗ Equator, The The invention of the Unified Universe Project that rewrote the equation for Time and Space, compressing time and creating Adstringéndum.

✗ Portable Communication Device (PCD) This is the palm pilot-like device given to everyone who arrives.

✗ Safezone The area within a 20 mile radius of The Equator. It is relatively stable (though nothing is perfect), and is where most people are currently living and trying to rebuild.

✗ Unified Universe Project, The The group of scientists that created The Equator. Currently trying to fix things, though in the process they further play with the make-up of existence.

✗ Wastelands The devastated vastness beyond the Safezone. Constantly changing as different worlds compress and try to overtake one another. Strange beats have been known to prowl, malformed combinations of species that should have never existed in the same space.

These should be followed! Some are basic etiquette, others that will help you when posting. Be sure to read them BEFORE you apply!

→ THE BASICS

→ FIRST AND FOREMOST, do be nice to your fellow players. We’re all here to have fun, not to stir things up and cause trouble for others. Don’t allow issues amongst players leak over to the game. If there is an issue amongst players, or with anything else, please bring it to a mod’s attention. We’ll do our best to get things sorted out for everyone involved.

→ No god-modding of any sort. This means no dictating the actions of another players character, or saying event “x” happened to player “b” without discussing it with the player(s) first.

→ On the same thread as the above point, knowledge that is gained OOC (out of character) is not to be used IC (in character) unless it is GAINED ICly. This is called info-modding. It also extends to characters who seem to know everything. It should be discussed with the players in question, should your character have ways to gain this information.

→ If you wish to have a player made event that would greatly affect the game in some way, please be sure to clear it via the mods first and foremost. A minimum of 48 hours notice should be given to the players at large, and moreso the moderators.

→ Stay active. There is a minimum requirement of 2 posts a month, and subsequently, at least one post every two weeks.

→ Please be sure to post letting us know if you need to go on a hiatus, and make sure to list the characters affected by your hiatus.

→ Most importantly: Stay in character. It doesn’t help your fellow players if you play a canonly total badass as a flower loving hippie.

→ You are allowed a maximum of eight characters, either fandom characters, or OC characters. You cannot app for an OC until you’ve actively played a character for one full activity period. Also, you may only app one character (fandom OR OC) per week.

→ Keep your friend’s list updated. That way you can keep track of the going’s on. This community allows for het, yaoi, and yuri. But please, be logical in how your characters get paired, off if they do.

→ We’ve no rating for the game, but as a rule of thumb, anything that would be considered rated R and above, at least put under an lj-cut. NC-17 situations must be f-locked, no questions asked. There’ll be no flagging of this community.

→ APPLICATIONS

→ This should be obvious, but please fill out the application entirely! Don't leave any field blank.

→ SPELL CHECK before submitting! We all make typos, but a quick run-through will really help.

→ You may only submit one application every two weeks. After you have all 8, you may not app another character unless you drop one of your pups.

→ You MUST have a Canon Character for 2 weeks before you can app an OC. And BE ACTIVE.

→ If you have any specific questions on applications, you can ask the mods on the FAQ page or send us an e-mail or IM.

→ ACTIVITY & ACTIVITY CHECKS

→ You will be asked to post in your journal at least twice a month. That's not too hard, is it?

→ If you are heading off somewhere, be sure to let us know in the com. We will make note of it in our special mod notes, but please note that hiatuses lasting more than a month will be counted in the upcoming activity check. Unless there are specific issues, we will hold them for a month only. If you have any questions or know there is a good reason you will be away longer, please speak with one of the mods.

→ There will be monthly activity checks. If you haven't posted, you will be put on the warning list. You will NEED to reply and update your journal if you want to keep your character. If you do not update your journal and reply to the activity check post, we will have to assume that that character is not active and you will LOSE YOUR CHARACTER and will be removed from the list ): We don't want this to happen!

→ If you want to app your lost character again, you must wait at least 2 weeks after they were lost to app them again. If they get lost due to activity again, you may not app that character.

→ If you find your character on the activity check more than once, don't worry too much. However, we're doing the usual "Three strikes, you're out!" rule: if your chara is on the list three times, they will be dropped from the game. That's why Hiatus posts are IMPORTANT!

→ There is no requirement log-wise, but we encourage you to do them :)

→ GENERAL QUESTIONS

✗ What does "Adstringéndum" mean?
It means "compression" in Latin.

✗ Are there just two mods running it right now?
Yup, just Freya and Kevin for now.

✗ What happens if a mod goes on hiatus?
The game will continue as usual under the supervision of the other mod. If BOTH go on hiatus, we trust you to be good ^.~

→ APPLYING AND APPLICATIONS

✗ Is there a way for me to reserve a character?
Yes! You can reserve any character you wish to play that is NOT on the taken page here. Please note you can only reserve one character at a time :)

✗ The character I want to play is on the taken page. Now what?
Well, we encourage you to join with another character! Who knows? If the character you wanted drops, you're more than welcome to pick them up.

✗ I see some really long applications. Do I need to have 5 comments worth to get in?
No, you don't. You will also see we approve some shorter applications as well. What is most important is that you show that you understand the character and can write well. Being wordy or not is more of a stylistic thing, though longer applications do tend to have more info packed in.

✗ Can I apply for more than one character from the same series?
Yes! Provided that the characters are not too closely related. As an example, Freya-mod dropped Rangiku from Bleach when she decided she was better off with playing Gin. Playing them both would be talking to yourself half the time, since they share such a history. Please keep things like this in mind!

✗ Can I apply for a duplicate of a character?
No, we're not taking duplicates.

✗ What if they're from another series?
This does happen. Clamp, for example, has its crossover series Tsubasa. You can apply for that duplicate only if they have a different history and story-line than the first. For example - we have two Kamui's, but one is from X and one is from Tsubasa. They are different enough to be considered two different characters.

✗ Does my character have to be human?
No, they do not.

✗ What if I want to app a spirit or a ghost? Would that be the same as an Animus?
If you want to apply as a spirit being, you are more than welcome to. However, they will be visible to other characters. An example of this would be the Bleach Shinigami, who in this game still can do what they do, but they are solid forms.

It would not be the same as an Animus, who are spirit beings but from a separate dimension. They hold a lot of power over events in the game and we would like to keep them separate from other spiritual beings, too.

✗ I want to apply with an Original Character as my first muse. Can I do this?
No, sorry. It's not because we want to stifle creativity, but to try and keep down the much feared Mary Sue/Gary Stus from popping up, we ask that you apply with a canon character first so we can make sure that you are active and committed before apping an OC.

✗ I think the mods missed my app...
THEN WE ARE DUMD DX Please send us a message! But remember, if there's a whole bunch of apps around yours then we haven't checked them either. We try not to overlook any, so please let us know.

✗ How often do you go over applications?
We try to go over apps once a week, usually in the middle of the week. So if you don't get a response right away, don't worry! We still see it.

✗ Can I just link to a wikipedia background page?
No. We know backgrounds aren't the most enjoyable parts of the applying process, but we do think it shows that you know the history of the character. You can use other sites for reference, of course, but don't just copy and paste.

→ ACTIVITY AND ACTIVITY CHECKS

✗ When do you do activity checks?
Once a month, usually at the beginning of the following month. For example, the activity check for June is often posted at the beginning of July. They generally last one week.

✗ What happens if I'm on the activity check?
We put your name on a list and tell you that you haven't updated your journal. If you see yourself, you simply update your journal and let us know that you did so. We'll take you off the list. However, you are asked not to apply for any character for one week after you have cleared the check.

✗ What if I'm on the activity check more than once?
Three strikes and you're out. So please remember to update! We want to have a lively, active community.

✗ What if I'm on hiatus and miss an activity check/my second post for that month?
If you're going on a hiatus, let us know! Post in the OOC community and we'll take a note of it. If you're on hiatus you will be exempt from one activity check. However, some hiatus have been lasting months on end...

✗ What if I'm on hiatus for more than one month?
We ask that your hiatuses don't last more than one month if it's possible to control. Being inactive for a few months and holding onto that character isn't fair to the people that interact with them and others who would like to app them. But, we know that some things in real life are just uncontrollable. If you let us know you're on hiatus and one month passes, if it's possible please just check in with us and let us know what is going on. If you have a good reason, we will extend your hiatus for another month.

Eventually, being on a continuous hiatus will mean forfeiting your character ): It's not that we want to be mean, but if you're not around to roleplay, there's no sense in having the character. You're welcome to apply again if/when you're able to come back :)

→ IN-GAME QUESTIONS

✗ How does my character get here?
Well, each world is being compressed into one, and it may not all happen at once! So when your character is brought here, it is literally like hitting a wall, and getting knocked out, then waking up in the WTF world we call Adstringéndum :) They will end up in the Safezone, and after that can run around wherever they want at their own discretion.

✗ What are the areas of the world called?
The world is divided into two main zones. Currently, a roughly 20 mile zone around The Equator is called the "Safezone" and is habitable to live in. Work is constantly done to expand the Safezone to allow for more people to reside there as people filter in. The rest of the world is generally called the "Wastelands," due to its devastated state. Also, due to the compression, there are beasts of all shapes and sizes that roam the wastes, so it's a very "enter at your own risk" situation.

✗ Who are the "Animus"? What do they do?
The Animus are spirits, essentially, as it means "spirit" in Latin. Not just human souls, but ethereal beings that existed in the Spirit World. As their world compressed with the other physical realities, they became stuck in the makeup, unable to take form or truly interact with the environment as they normally could.

So, they are quite cranky. They will take advantage of you if you're in an out of body, spirit form. (This means if you die, not like Shinigami and whatnot). And since they cannot interact with the world itself, they take out their anger on the people. If they work hard enough, they can take away your voice, to making you change your genetic make-up for a period of time. It really depends on how they feel like showing their disdain. The Project constantly tries to see if there is a way to stop them from involving themselves, but so far nothing has worked, if not only angered them further.

✗ Is there a way out?
Good question! So far, no. There is no "out" to be had as all the worlds squish together, meaning there will be only one time and place. Once the compression is complete, the Project speculates there may be no way back.

✗ So, is there like, a big scientific organization in charge of everything?
Not at the moment, no. However, that doesn't mean one can't develop. The Unified Universe Project is currently just doing what it can to make up for the big oops that they did when everything got screwed up. However, if your character wants to make a move forward with the Project or try and create their own sense of order, by all means go ahead! Just be sure to keep it in the not god-modding category, okie dokie?

✗ What about my powers? Can I use them here?
Yes, you can. There may be fluctuations in that ability as the Project tries to fix things, but in general you may. The mods will announce when powers are suddenly unattainable or enhanced, etc. Now, because you have your powers, we want you to BE RESPONSIBLE with them. Don't go blow up the place, please! As an explanation IC, we will say that the Project says the world is too fragile for that kind of stuff :3 Maybe later, we'll let you know.

✗ Sweet! I can use my powers, so now I can pwn everyone!
No, not necessarily :/ You can use your powers, but anything that has to do with altering time won't work here, sorry! This is time getting squished, after all. As for "my character is way stronger than yours" because they're from different series and have different abilites...well, that will happen, but there are consequences for using a lot of power here. The Safezone is the most stable, but the place as a whole is still being held together with like space duct tape. Going Super Saiyan gazillion will probably not only piss off the Animus and have them knock you into a pond of goo or something, but it may also cause a rip in the space time. That could completely change an area or even screw up your own abilities. Use them with caution.

So yes, you do have your abilities, but it is advised not to use them all to their limits. And if someone says "that's okay, my low power can keel you", while in some cases that may be true (like if Aizen from Bleach wanted to blow up Card Captor Sakura), we ask you to merely be nice to other players. You cannot control things that happen to someone else's character, so if you want to fight them without your full power for whatever reason, go ahead as long as you and the other player have discussed things. Just don't blow up the world, mmkay? For character death, see below.

✗ What happens if I die here?
Another good question! Hopefully you won't, but it's entirely possible. What will happen is you'll be sent back, since the spirit world has been compressed with the "real" world as well. However, your soul will enter your body as is, so you may be in a lot of pain when you come back depending on how you died. If you got blown to pieces, they will just come back together. The Project isn't sure exactly why this is happening. However, there may be consequences for dying other than just pain. The Animus don't like people coming into their spiritual state, especially while they're already upset, so they may just take something away from you while you're in your spirit form, be it a possession, memory, or ability. You can be dead for the period of time you want for your character, be it an hour to a week or more, but you will eventually have to come.
