-To provide a forum for those who are attempting to find homes for rescued or unwanted pets
-To help match those potential pet adopters with those who have posted adoption notices
-To provide a forum for animal shelters and not-for-profit animal rescue organizations to advertise their websites, web forums, and special adoption or fundraising events
-To provide a forum for those community members who may have uneeded/unwanted pet supplies to give away or for those members who are willing to barter or trade for pet supplies.
-The maintainers make no claims as to truth or accuracy of any of the posts placed in this community. Before you adopt a pet, do your homework! Gather as much information as you can about the animal. Ask for vet records, photographs, arrange to call and/or meet the pet and its owner in person, if possible.
-If you are adopting out a pet, please do not list them as FREE. Always ask for, at the very least, a small adoption fee. This will help deter people who may not have the best interests of your pet in mind. Don't be afraid to ask questions and check references of potential adopters.
-Please do not attempt to "guilt" other community members into accepting or helping you place your pets by advertising the fact that these animals will be euthanized or "put down" if homes are not found by such-and-such date. Thousands of animals are put to death in this country each day thanks to overbreeding and irresponsible pet owners. The purpose of this community is to help find homes for the ones we can. It is not reasonable to expect that we will be able to save all of them, even though I know we'd probably like to.
-Commercial breeders, please do not use this community as a marketplace. Try the classified ads instead. This is a place for those who are trying to find adoptive homes for pets, not for those who are trying to buy and sell creatures. Also, if you are looking to purchase an animal from a breeder, please look elsewhere.
-Please do not use this as a marketplace for pet supplies you have for sale. Giveaways only, please.
