No, seriously. I haven't had a day this bad since the day my father went into surgery. This isn't quite that bad at all, but this is the worst day I have had in a very, very long time.
I'm safe in Scotland. My flights all went smoothly, had a good time, yadda yadda. When I got to Glasgow, I even got a discount on my bus ticket! Yay!
But then the driver goes and drops me off and gives me really ambiguous directions. So I end up wandering around and trying to ask more people for help. They all take me, like, halfway, and I proceed to get lost again. Finally, I'm FREAKING OUT because here I am, carrying two very heavy bags, and I'm an American lost in Scotland. I find an officer writing tickets for parking violations, and he proceeds to take me around town for what must be an hour and a half, trying to find where I need to go to, you know, sleep tonight. It took forever, but thank goodness, we found it.
So then this kinda' arrogant but kinda' nice guy shows me to my room. Turns out I don't have any internet in there. :D To use the Strathclyde University wireless, you need a username and password, which I was never given. So I spend the afternoon looking for restaurants with free wifi, since I have literally NO WAY to contact my family. No bars on my phone or anything. Nothing. Fuck you, Cingular. Anyway. Another grand search full of crying, and finally this cafe lets me use theirs for free. I talk to
fairness and Luke for a while until they make me feel better. I love them.
Come back to my room, where my plug for my computer almost doesn't work but it does thank god, and I take a shower, listen to music, and take a nap. Then I woke up all paranoid because my alarm didn't go off so NOW I'm all like "WHAT THE FUCK HOW AM I GOING TO WAKE UP" for tomorrow. NOT COOL. Then I walk a mile to go back to talk to Luke at the cafe and I get kicked out for not buying anything else, even though I bought like four pounds forth of stuff earlier. So I came back to my dorm and I tried for 20 minutes to steal wifi and FINALLY IT'S WORKING.
So, yeah. That's my FUCKING CHAOS for the day. I've never had a day this stressful. Seriously. I'm all alone in this country and I won't have anyone until tomorrow and it drives me batshit crazy.
At least Luke's on.
