... adelaide oval ... [Feb. 8th, 2010|04:21 pm]

I have a really quick question that I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

I have decided to go to the cricket tomorrow and I haven't been to the Adelaide Oval in a good 10 years and I was wondering if you are allowed to take food/drinks etc into the grounds or not.

I've been to sporting events interstate where you weren't allowed to take any plastic drink containers in ... and others where it's only been that you can't take glass/alcohol in.

Anyone know?? I don't want to lug a stack of drinks to the venue just to find I can't take it in - especially in the heat.

[ I've looked on Ticketek where I brought the tickets and also on the SACA site but I cannot find any info ]

Many thanks and stay cool! :)

Please remove this if it isn't allowed.

I am shaving my hair off on March 12 for the World's Greatest Shave. My fundraising goal is $500 and am confident I can reach this goal. As the advertisements tell us, "The funds we raise will help the Leukaemia Foundation to provide practical care and support to patients and families living with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders."
I chose to support this particular cause because I lost a dear friend to Leukemia when I was in year 3 in Primary School and while that was a long time ago it has stayed with me.

If anyone would like to donate anything, you can do so online via: my.imisfriendraising.com.au/personalPage.aspx Donations are tax deductable and a reciept is automatically given! I am going to ask at work if I can set up a money jar for donations (Adelaide Unibooks) and I'll edit here if that goes ahead.

Thank you in advance. If you have any questions at all, please ask.

Does anyone know what happened to Body Cult body piercing on Rundle Street? Have they closed for good, or just moved shop?

Just wondering if anyone is selling a laneway festival ticket? It's on friday, and stupid me forgot about it and now all the places I've tried to buy a ticket at are sold out :( That's what I get for not being more prepared!

I'm willing to pay RRP, and pick it up as well if necessary.

Loans [Jan. 27th, 2010|06:02 pm]

Hi all,

Just need some questions answered, before I go to the bank. I'm currently studying and have a credit card debt. If I were to apply for a student loan, do you have to tell them it's for debt consolidation/uni fees/etc?

Also, I would like to look at buying a house, but at the moment, my income consists of some temp work and some centrelink - has anyone here successfully applied & received a house loan while on a low income?

Thanks!

LL

Hey Adelaide people.

I need some help.

I need to find a decent, comfortable motel with reasonable rates. This is for two people. I don't have alot of money to spend, though. What price would I be looking at? Can anybody recommend me some pleasant places that won't cost too much? It doesn't really matter what area, but preferrably not too far out.

Thank you!

Hunting for a bar fridge! [Jan. 11th, 2010|02:41 pm]

Hi!

Does anyone know where I can get a second hand bar fridge? Or is anyone here selling one? The ones I've seen at Cash Converters are all $170 - $200+ which seems steep when you can get brand new ones for a similar price.  Gumtree & eBay don't have many listed so I'm a bit stumped!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Adopt a rat! (or two) [Jan. 8th, 2010|03:13 pm]

just_skitch
[Tags|, ]

I probably wont have much luck putting this here.. but I figure that maybe one of you out there had considered rats as pets or knows someone who is looking at keeping them as pets :).

I run a pet rat rescue in South Australia. Like just about every other rescue service after Christmas and New Years we are inundated with rescue cases. Seeing as this is a community for South Australians, I thought it might be good to post some information and pictures of some of our available rats...

***** )

We ask for a $15 donation for the adoption of a rescue rat. All of our rescue rats come with an adoption pack which includes a sleeping hammock, a tub of food, samples from our sponsors, a rat care booklet and all of our rescues are treated with revolution or ivermectin to ensure they are completely parasite free before going to their new homes. We will also deliver to just about anywhere in Adelaide (and most surrounding areas like Gawler etc) for no additional cost . But if you would prefer, pick up can be arranged from Campbelltown. So, please.. if you know anyone who would like to adopt some pet rats, send them my way! Adopting from us is cheaper than buying from most petshops and I can guarantee that no petshops in Adelaide would 'waste' time and money treating their rats for parasites. Any rat adopted from us will come with lifelong support.. I will always be willing to answer questions and help :).

If you have any inquiries, please feel free to email me at karina@southaustralianrats.com or leave a comment here and I'll get back to you :). Our website is here www.southaustralianrats.com

Thanks for reading!
