I've been on and off this website for the last few years now, mainly because I never had anything to update about. But, my life is taking a change now and I've got things to write about. So, I decided to come back!! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone else with a LiveJournal so I'm hoping I can make some new friends by posting here. A little bit about me: I'm a nice person and I care a lot about people. I'm forgiving, but I never forget. I don't do drugs, I don't smoke and I don't drink alcohol. I don't care if others do so long as they respect my lifestyle. I'll be friends with pretty much anyone. I'm not into the whole labels thing. I love love love animals, especially cats. I've got 2 of them and plan on having more whenever I'm on my own. I get a kick out of playing old school video games (Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64). I have a tiny obsession with Pokemon. Oh, come on!! They're just so cute. :) I'm fascinated by psychology and human behavior as well as criminology. I'd love to be a social worker or a profiler. I used to volunteer my time to help disabled people. I had a blast doing it and I miss it very much. Things you might be able to relate to: - I have generalized anxiety as well as social anxiety / social phobia. I've been struggling with it my entire life and most people don't understand it. However, I'm getting better with the right psychologist and am getting my life back on track. - I love animals. - My favorite band is Within Temptation. - My favorite television show is Criminal Minds. - I was in an abusive relationship for almost 4 years with my first boyfriend. We aren't together anymore and I've found someone new who I swear is my soul mate, but my relationship with him is still hard because of my social anxiety and because of my previous relationship that brought on trust issues with men. - My Mother was an alcoholic, and she isn't in my life anymore. - I live with my Father in an Apartment. - I love Psychology, Human Behavior and Criminology. - I want to save the world and people. - I don't drink, I don't do drugs and I don't smoke. - I'm an Aries. - I have a huge fear of needles. 2 comments|post comment

My friends list seems to be running a little thin lately, and I'd like some new ones if anyone's interested! My journal started off pretty anonymous as a pop culture blog of sorts. Now that I have an actual pop culture blog to take a part in, it's more about my life. I still like to maintain some anonymity though. What you can know about me now is: I'm an (almost) 21 year old English major from the Midwest. I usually talk about stuff that interests me along with my life. Comments on new albums I like, what I think of movies/tv shows I see, and my opinion on the concerts I go to. I talk about literature and books a lot too. (for example: trueblood, gossip girl, chuck palahniuk, edith wharton, twilight, flight of the conchords, house, jack's mannequin, bat for lashes, and basically any new movies coming out are the things I've talked about).  I really only want friends that are 18+, if you're a really mature 16 year old, I might make an exception. I might get into my love life/nights out drinking so that's the reason for the age limit. Plus, I'm WAY out of high school, so it's hard for me to relate to that. I'm a pretty good commenter, and I love to hear people's opinion on things. [16 May 2009|10:49pm] babyguns i've done this a million times and 90% of the people i add/add me, don't work out for usually more than one reason but hey, why not, right? i'm jennah, 20 years old, in a "committed relationship"with my high school best friend, have a little boy - 18 months. i go to aveda in st petersburg, florida and i live in venice (venice beach?) with my guy, my son and my brother. dyed, pierced, music, yadda yadda. alot of my entries are about my family - my son and my guy, school and really crazy shit that happens to me on an almost daily basis. half of it are "what the fxck just happened" moment posts so i'd have to say my journal's pretty interesting. i cannot - cccccaaaannnnnnootttttt - stand people who don't update their journals or post constant twitters and memes or whatever. i haven't posted a meme since at least 2002 and i don't even really know what twitter is. i do like reading actual entries, interesting stuff, not the entires of where you list everything you actually did that day without a hint of reflection or any kind of real substance. i get bored easily, i have the attention span of a gnat and if i'm bored after 4 or 5 entries, i'll probaby delete you. i'm really good at pissing off people on my friends list - but only the ones who are just downright stupid and fail to notice their blatant mistakes. like the girl who tries to get pregnant by the guy who neglects her because she thinks it'll save their relationship... or the guy who dosen't stop hanging out with his ex girlfriend of like 5 years to "be friends" instead of getting over her. or maybe the single mom who has an addiction to buying designer handbags but still can't afford to take care of herself and her kid(s), even with food stamps - and think that's ok. if you're one of those people or can think of something you do that's really dumb, please don't add me. other than that, i'm insightful and a genuinely nice person, even if it dosen't seem like it sometimes. i have a few "lurkers" in my life, so i have a few rules about adding people like, i don't add journals made after 2007 and i don't add people who don't have any friends, or only a few and journals who have little to no postings. there are a few other basic guidelines like don't be a moron but that's kind of obvious. add me first & then comment on my friends only page to let me know that you did.. otherwise, i honestly will probably never know that you added me. or add you back. post comment

I heart my job. My students rock my socks! At heart, I'm just a big second grader myself. I do all sorts of crazy things for my class. I also tend to spend more time at school than I do at home and when I am at home, I'm usually preparing for school. I'm a fairly liberal person and often an idealist. I dislike the feel of cotton balls and will do everything I can to avoid them. I am usually a bit shy at first, but I get along with most anyone. I heart animals. I enjoy the simple things. I love to laugh...the kind of laugh that makes your stomach hurt. Cookies should always be soft in the middle. I'd love nothing more than to have someone write a song about me one day. After a bit of a journey, I've discovered that I really do like me. About My Journal I write about a variety of topics...from serious to silly. You can check out my public entries to see what kinds of things you may find in my journal. I also have a couple of filters that I occasionally write in for some more private areas of my life that I would happily add you to once we get to know each other and you seem like a good fit. I can't predict how often I will post an entry. Sometimes, I post several times a week and other times it seems like I'm reduced to a few times a month. I do read my friends list but I'm not known as a top commenter. I'll typically just comment on a handful of all my friends entries in a week. I try not to comment just for the sake of commenting. I don't expect tons of comments from you...but if that's your thing, go for it! I don't really do friends cuts. I don't respond well to journals that do them all the time with "comment here or else!" I'm not a meme person but I'm also not offended by them. I'm willing to add just about anyone reasonable. I'm not a grammar nazi but I do prefer coherent entries. Obviously they are not in use anymore. The only strike I have against me is I don't own a computer myself so I have to drive to my local library to use it, so I'm not able to log on every day. I try to at least every other day. More Than You Need To Know: I'm an atheist but I don't discriminate against religions. I'm in love with anything Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. I want to marry them both. I'm usually seen wearing black clothes with my favorite pair of black chucks and big sunglasses. I love the color black. Too much maybe. I love animals, all types. I'm terrified of spiders though. I worked at a kennel for about 4 years. One day I would love to own a pit bull, rottie, doberman and a malamute. I love anything dark and creepy. One day I would love to be a serial killer profiler. Or something to do with forensics. I love to read true crime novels, Harry Potter and Stephen King. I love old, decreped, abandoned places and anything to do with the paranormal. I have a lot of anxiety issues so I have a lot of trouble going anywhere like the mall or a concert, crowds make me go into a panic attack. I've also had a lot of issues with my weight, I've had an eating disorder since my early pre-teens. Being pregnant was the best thing that's happened to me, I'm doing whatever I can for my baby. I'm afraid I might slip back into my old, evil ways after I give birth though. I'm also have addiction problems: marijuana, nicotine and coffee. I have kicked the nicotine habit. I love adult cartoons: Family Guy, King of The Hill, Futurama, South Park etc..  my bf and I own every single DVD to every single cartoon series. [18 Apr 2009|05:00pm] ohmaigosh i've had many livejournals, this is my third and hopefully permanent. i also have multiple accounts for several different reasons. that being said, i'm not new to this, but for the first few years, my entries were completely locked off. most of my friends from back then have left, so i figured i'd do something about that. i'm not desperate for friends, but new ones would be nice. my name is mai and i am fifteen, but i'm often mistakened to be much older than that. when i ask why, they say that i don't act/ look/ talk/ think my age. truthfully, though, i seriously think i look like i'm twelve. i don't think i'm smart, but i'm not as stupid as i may seem. i currently reside in a suburb in texas and am in high school. i'm generally a friendly person, i don't categorize people, and i definitely don't think i'm any better than the next guy. i'm not a complex character, there's not much to figure out about me. i like what i like, and even though i'm not a very opinionated person, if there's anything that i ever do have an opinion about, it's definite until someone can try to change my mind. i'm very passionate about music, photography, astronomy, design (for just about everything. i love personalizing my things.), swimming, and traveling. i enjoy: documenting, watching documentaries, talking, discussing, creating, making videos, learning about new and intersting things, extennding my music horizon, movies, shows, concerts, trying out different foods, being with others, seeing what goes on behind the scenes, learning more about people & seeing how they live their lives, interior design, the sims (because i'm a huge dork), expanding my already huge library, decorating, collecting old records and CDs, cooking, my dogs, road trips, waking up in the mornings and just lying in bed with my music floating around the room, buying & collecting & using gigantic headphones that are from before the 21st century, sleeping, rock climbing, and people that are funny / have a sense of humor / can take a joke / aren't too easily offended / can make me laugh. i strongly dislike: writing, liars, school, nosy & unreliable people, responsibilities, dull offices, dirty bathrooms, public restrooms, where i live, grudges, insects, bugs, and being constantly disappointed. music: anything. really. i have so many bands that i love, but here are the first five that are either on my mind right now or i can just think of right away: The Strokes, Muse, Flight of the Conchords, The Beatles, Reverie Sound Revue. movies: American Beauty, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Saw movies, Resident Evil movies, Across the Universe, Spirited Away, The Hot Chick, I Am Sam, Heathers, I Am Legend, SPEAK, Blades of Glory, Napoleon Dynamite, and that's not even close to half. television: Pepper Ann, Will & Grace, Daria, Flight of the Conchords, Madeline, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Garfield, Grim & Evil, Billy & Mandy. all time favorites, i really haven't seen most of these shows in years. refer some of your own favorites, and i'll be forever grateful! i love meeting new people, so just really anyone can feel free to add me. i would prefer if you commented at the journal, though. probably won't check back here too often. au naturale. i did say i looked like a twelve year old, right? post comment
