I made this fanmix awhile back, but posted it alongside a particular ficlet in my fanfic community, and not here. Thus, I'm posting it directly in this community as perhaps you will enjoy it. Everything in brackets are my own, brief thoughts. Yeah, I'm posting this now b/c I'm going through a serious withdrawal. I miss them.

[Given what Addison has endured, especially in light of Alex, I feel this encapsulates what she took away from it.
And how he affected her.]

[We know Addison was weary of Alex's intentions, & you can't say Alex wasn't afraid either.
Taking steps forward were difficult for each of them, and falling was one reason.]

Such pain as this
Shouldn't have to be experienced
I'm still reeling from the loss,

[I believe that even as Addison made her decision to leave, she still felt pulled towards him. Did she really want to let him go?
If not, how did she gather the strength to leave him behind?]

[This song goes for either Alex or Addison. They could want to grasp each other, but admitting it openly?

[Beautiful, perfect song. Nothing quite explains the actions of this pairing better, in my opinion.
Go on, give it a listen, or just find the lyrics. Amazing.]

[I swear, I can only hope that someday, someday Alex wakes up and recognizes this. His grand mistake,
and to amend it. Or at least speak to Addison on the subject.]

[Alex needs to be slapped, I don't know how else he'll realize exactly what Addison was to him.
Could be for him.]

14. False Alarm - KT Tunstall

[They were lost, they were confused, & they could not recognize what each one felt for the other.
Not to its full extent, anyway, thus it was a big misunderstanding, a false alarm they came to think.]

15. The Special Two - Missy Higgins

But I was comfortable and warm inside my shell,
And couldn't see this place would soon become my hell.
So is it better to tell and hurt or lie to save their face?
Well I guess the answer is don't do it in the first place.

[Who hasn't associated this song with one of their pairings? But that second line about lies? So Alex.
I believe he hurt her then thinking further down the road, it'd hurt her more. And he couldn't have that]

I miss the times that we use to kiss

I miss the times that we never had

[I end with this song, because of the ALMOST. To think where they could have gone, where they were heading.
The almost kiss, the almost relationship, the almost love. Seriously, Addison & Alex could have gone somewhere absolutely wonderful. Perhaps better than the land of denial]

Tomorrow night, Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery (Kate Walsh) makes a return appearance. Until then, we won't know whether or not she and Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) will have a scene or not, but as the promo advertises there sure will be...trouble. That, and something could be happening to Alex that could change him indefnitely. But the promo speaks for itself ;)

ETA: Sneak Peak you must watch. Warning *spoilers*!!!

Thoughts? Speculation? In addition, I might make a post for episode discussion tomorrow. However, if anyone else can do it instead.

We've all heard the news of Addison coming back to Grey's Anatomy for an episode, and that her storyline may involve something concerning obstetrics (it's only a field she practices in). But here's a something a bit more tangible--keep in mind that Ms. Rhimes has and could change episode arcs after spoilers are revealed. You may have seen these already, but just for the squealing pleasure, you can click on the cut for spoilers on Addison's great return...unless you don't want to be spoiled ;)

Episode 4.13: Pieces of My Heart
Airdate: May 1, 2008

This seems to be the episode where Addison will drop by Seattle Grace because one of the cases of the week involves a yet-to-be-born baby whose organs are reversed. An HIV-positive woman learns that she is pregnant. A grandpa-type doctor is called in to help a 35-year-old pregnant woman suffering from Huntington's Disease but refuses to take her on as a patient when he learns of her condition and thinks of the potential malpractice risks involved with the case. Seems she's coming back in May, which is my only complaint because I can't wait! And a lot of relationships only Addison has? Hmm, now does Alex fit in that equation, and if so, how? Discuss! Squee! ~~Dream of our great ship!~~

Note: Unrelated musings on what never was, and might never be for Addison & Alex. I couldn't come up w/a title for the first vignette, so they'll all be untitled now. I'll be using this table for prompts, at which you'll find previously posted vignettes. Feedback is love.

Their exterior contradictions were simply tests of the soul to contrast their interior correlations.

Woot, the members are pouring in! Granted, they're not many now, but I feel it's enough for now. I still would like a co-mod, so drop a comment or contact me for that.

Right, now, I just want to recommend a few things:

Fanfics:
Unwrapped by HuntingPeace // This piece is sweet & fluffy, and it is an optimistic take, so take that into account if you read it.
Years Later by LW107 (on ff.net) // Only the first part is Addison/Alex but it is an absolutely wonderful take on the pair.
Without Prior Appointment by youngstone // Great piece, and recently posted. This one, and Years Later are two of the best Addex fics out there, at least in more recent times. For one reason or another, it's difficult to find truly well-written pieces on Addison/Alex, so these are a treat.

Fanvid: Complicated by supermarmott // This maker has done some wonderful Addison/Alex fanvids, but this is my absolute favorite. It's the only fanvid that uses "Chasing Cars " in a proper sense.

If you check out any of the aforementioned things that I have recommended, give the creator a review and/or reply, even if it is just constructive criticism. Replies and views on their pieces are appreciated by them, because a lot of time and effort is (usually) put into creative works. Go ahead and make your own recommendations, either by commenting below, or if you have several, make your own post =)

Like most shipper communities, anything involving the pair is allowed here. Graphics, fanfiction, fanart in general, and discussion. That means spoilers, what ifs on the two, and speculation. I simply ask that no post strays too far from either Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery or Dr. Alex Karev, both originally from Grey's Anatomy. Membership is open, and all members will have posting privileges. If you have any questions/concerns, comment here. But read the userinfo first--there's more stuff there.
