Hi there, I'm Sam and I'm from Liverpool in the UK.
This seemed like a good community to shamelessly plug my new music blog. I'm very much for the 'word of mouth' spread of music and since I'm into a lot of very small indie and unsigned bands, I thought this would be a nice way to show some love. I'll update regularly with new bands; hopefully you'll be able to pick up a couple of new artists because of it. Go have a look at me first review of The Rosewood Thieves on my page and please, feel free to add me as a friend!
Much Love
Sam xxxx

Hey everyone *waves* Meg from socal here. Like most of you, music is a passion. Yanno when people ask if you'd rather be blind or deaf? I'd take blind in heartbeat. Without my music, I'd definitely be (more) insane.
Also like most of you, I like a broad spectrum of music. ALL THINGS ROCK... Pink Floyd is my all time favorite. I don't even consider it listening anymore, the music is just ingrained in my soul at this point. Closely following are Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Supertramp, The Who & Rush (and I could really go on and on with the classic rock, LOVE it). I love pretty much everything from the 80's, save for some of the REALLY new wave new wave stuff. Most of the 90's stuff was grunge or indie, and I like some of it, but not all. I probably like more 'punk' from the 90's era. Stuff I just can't get enough of, ever (besides the afore mentioned) Deftones, Filter, Soul Coughing, Eve 6, Mudvayne, Metallica, One Minute Silence, Incubus, Porcupine Tree, The Police, Slipknot, Steve Miller Band, Sublime, Save Ferris, Pinback, Spoon, Primer55, Nine Inch Nails, The Mars Volta... um... ok, so this is off the top of my head and I KNOW I'm forgetting a lot.
Just wanted to say Howdy :)

Most of what I regularily listen to is posted on my LJ profile, but I have a couple of favourites that deserve the spotlight.
1. Roger Waters, former lead-singer of Pink Floyd. I respect and admire Waters' solo works more than Pink Floyd [Pre and Post Waters]. The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking album has been on constant replay for a while now. The composition of instruments interacting together with cleverly opinionated lyrics and moody dialouge. It fits perfectly. Don't get me wrong, Pink Floyd without Waters' is still quite good, but he is that man who made it for me. That voice is absolutely WONDERFUL.
Oh man, I love so many classic rock musicians and bands such as: Led Zeppelin, Boston, Rush, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, The Allman Brothers, The Eagles, America, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Elton John, David Bowie, Lynard Skynard, Steely Dan, Styx, Supertramp, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, and way too many more. This was the music I grew up with in the country with my hippie-rocker parents and their oddly eclectic families. <3
2. Obscure and unique sounding compositions from many different artists, like the haunting deep voices of Sarah MacLachlan, Sarah Slean, Tori Amos, Fiona Apple. Also strange and original bands such as The White Strips, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Strokes, Wolfmother, etc.
3. The mixture of goth opera, metal, and acapella in Epica, Nightwish, Tristania, and Kamelot. I'm also drawn to very powerful vocalist who send that well-needed shiver down my spine [Christina Aguleria, Jennifer Holiday, Jennifer Hudson, Sarah Brightman, Monica Narujo, Carly Simon, Lee Aaron, etc]
4. Guilty Pleasure. COUNTRY. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, Kenny Rogers, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, and, of course, DOLLY PARTON. <3 I'll add in my old time favourite that would have to be Frank Sinatra.
5. Where all my love of music comes from, my own guitarist father and late uncle [rest his soul] who taught me how to play guitar and embrace music. :3
