AboutWhat is it?
Have an eating disorder and looking for friends to whom you can relate? This is the place to find them! You can be looking for support with recovery or just support, as long as you're respectful to everybody.
How is it different?
This is not the place to talk about what you ate today, share "thinsperation", ask for/give advice, post excessive pictures*, or anything of that sort. Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that, but there are 23974092374 billion other communities out there if that's your cup of tea. We want to keep this community focused on friend-finding.
*Pictures are allowed, we just want to keep the focus of posts on friends as opposed to, "look at me! look at me!"
Examples:
Good post: "Hi I'm Allison I'm 17 and I've been bulimic for 4 years but I'm trying to recover. I like The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith and lots of classic rock! So add me if you want!"
Bad post: "omfg I binged again last night I ate 2 things of ice cream and some cheetos and some nacho cheese right out of the can and now I look like Britney Spears. Anyone know of any good ab workouts I could do???"
I joined, what now?
Just make a post telling a little about yourself and what kind of friends you're looking for, or look through the posts that are already there and see if there's anyone you might like to add as a friend. Feel free to be creative. Instead of just posting your stats (you still can, it's just more interesting if you go beyond that) try and let people get to know the person behind the ED, because we know there's more to you than that, and seeing post after post with stats can get boring and repetitive.
