So far up north you'll land in Ontario, Canada, which is actually in the south.

About Me: Love to write as a hobby. Sadly, nothing that serious. Hoping to become a director and/or scriptwriter and sort of using writing as practice.

About My Journal: It's just a place where I post my thoughts, events, and the occasional chapter from one of my stories.

What I Write: I write whatever comes to my mind, but of course has a purpose. Usually just fan fictions that I let out and keep the originals to myself - I'm self-conscious/insecure like that.

What I Don't Write: "Adult" scenes. Though, that's slowly changing.

What I Read: Whatever catches my eye but it's got to meet up to my standards - no offense to anyone. I'd read anything as long as it's not too corny, or unrealistic. Not that I'm saying I don't like fantasy. I mean realistic as in the way the characters interact and such.

What I Don't Read: Erm, I don't like stories that consist of mostly "one-liners".

Could I Edit Someone Else's Stuff: Maybe, but I'm not that great myself.

Looking For: People who'd like to read my stuff and who'd also share their work as well. People to talk to for anything, no reason to be needed. I'm a really shy person when it comes to making a new friend but I'm sure I'll be less shy after a while.

Extremely sarcastic and optimistic. Artsy and logical. Quiet but Loud. So, I'm a little bit of everything all rolled up into one package. If I have a belief or opinion, it's most likely that I will not be swayed into thinking otherwise. Oh, so I can add stubborn to the list, also.

About my journal: I'm going to try and do a post each day when my school starts up again. It will probably be inspired by something I saw or heard there.

What I write: Science Fiction all the way. I, myself, hate SciFi that is too complicated, where the authors go on rants about the planet's government and politics for the last 100 years. I love to keep everything simple and easy to understand. I also love to add in a lot of adventure/action/ and a hint of romance. ;)

What I prefer not to write: Too much romance makes me ill, so I only add a sprinkle.

What I read: Anything with adventure and, of course, that perfect amount of romance.

What I don't read: I don't read a lot of Fantasy, Biographies, or Adult Fiction. I play video games for a narrative experience (gameplay's always secondary).

About my journal: Right now it's mainly reviews of different things/ramblings. I tend to dwell in fantasy/sci-fi/abstracty-thingies (for lack of a better term). I eat a lot, talk (loudly) a lot, scream a lot, and procrastinate a lot. I love to write, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at it. I sing and I'm the only trombonist in my school band. I also used to play flute but being the mediocre musician that I am, I just put it away until the day came that I can't even blow into a flute right anymore. I'm very clumsy and often hurt people unintentionally just because they happened to stand close while I walked past them. I am a very indecisive person, but I'm pretty sure that after high school, I would like to pursue something like social work or counseling with writing on the side.

About my journal: It used to be a mix of my creative writing and mindless rambles, but I revamped it, and now it only contains my pieces.

I write: Poetry, short stories, drabbles and <strike>crappy</strike> plays. Genre-wise, death/tragedy, spiritual, comfort stuff, and angst (well, I am a teenager, after all). I'm also trying my hand at comedy and memoirs.

I don't write: Sci-fi, action, chick lit, mystery, horror. I can never wrap my head around horribly (in a cool way) twisty plots, let alone write them. They just seem so intricate and seeing as I'm a very impatient kid, I just don't bother.

I like to read: Anything, but I mostly read YA fiction, classics, tragedies, and comedies. I especially like it when things don't go the way the protagonist wanted them to and/or when they die. That's always cool. :)

I don't like to read: Sci-fi, action, and mystery. They always make me scream. Enough said.

Favourite books/authors: I have too much. If I list them all, it'd take me more than a decade.

What I'm looking for: People who read creative musings and would give me some feedback. And of course, people who I can connect with.

Other: I absolutely love Celtic and classical music and am a fan of Josh Groban and Hayley Westenra. :D

Name: Alexa or Lexy

Location: Virginia

About me: I'll be 18 in November. I'm a senior and I think public school is a joke. I can be incredibly negative, cynical, and sarcastic (I'm trying to change that, though) but I'll help anyone I can if it's logical and justified. I have something called Dabrowski's Over-excitabilities, which I'm incredibly proud of. I read and write- a lot. I paint, draw, sketch, etc. I practice yoga and I love animals more than people. My dream is to move somewhere like Maine or Edinburgh and have a house with flower and vegetable gardens and animals. Live a hippie-style life. And I use too many commas.

About my journal: I just created a new journal. I felt that I needed a change and a fresh start with new friends and a new outlook on life. Right now, my journal only has three entries, but usually I post poems, quotes, and lyrics I find enlightening as well as some of my own work.

What I write: Fiction, articles, and essays, mainly. I'm studying to become a journalist, so obviously, I write articles. Once in awhile a few lines of poetry. I usually laugh at my own posts, they have their own voice.

What I prefer not to write: Nothing, really.

What I read: Mostly the classics. I also read general fiction, literature, non-fiction. Gonzo journalism.

What I don't read: I don't like much historical fiction or girly young adult books. I just don't like the way most YA authors write. There's always an exception, though.

Favorite Author's: I really like Susan Hubbard- she uses a lot of literature references and allusions as well as mythology from other cultures. William F. Buckley, Plato, J.D. Salinger, Oscar Wilde, Anne Rice, Stephen King, Anthony Burgess, Augusten Burroughs, Hunter S. Thompson, Tom Wolfe, James Joyce, Stephen Chbosky, Johnathan Safran Foer, Dante, John Steibeck, Charles Dickens, Ray Bradbury, George Orwell, Jack Kerouac, JRR Tolkien, Robert Frost, Michael J. Totten, Jen Marlowe, Leonard Pitts...

Favorite book(s): The Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite of the classics. Right now, I'm reading Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. Some of my favorites are Clay, Simon Says, Catcher in the Rye, Perks of Being A Wallflower, Someday this Pain Will Be Useful to You, Society of S, On the Road (and all of his other books) Also, (even though I hate the way the authors write) I love the stories of Harry Potter and Twilight. There's so many more.

Could I edit someone else's work: Of course.

What I am looking for: Anyone open-minded and creative. Maybe someone who would like to get to know me and not just be someone on my friend list.

Other: One cool thing. I'm related to Edgar Allen Poe. He's my 6th great uncle. That's usually my say-one-cool-and-interesting-fact-about-yourself speech in the beginning of the school year.

The sticky hot heat had been promising a change of tide for a long time now. The laws of nature forced the heat wave to give way to the violent rages of a summer storm, where the wind slammed against anything and everything, and the rain came down in sheets, without any sign of relenting. Such was this storm, which threw itself upon the the castle without warning, and in a frenzy of violence. Lightening flashed- lighting the world with its fury, and thunder rumbled- shaking the very sky itself. Ozone was thick in the air, and the raindrops beat down to the earth with such gusto, that before they hit the very ground they had dispersed. Such was the storm, and its furious might.

It was hard to believe that only moments before the sky had been bright, and the earth solid beneath the feet of where it had been stable and dry. The mud was marsh like and the lower dips caught and held the rain. Already, the lake threatened to overthrow its limits, and seep up onto the ground that surrounded it. Nobody could have predicted the storm would hit, without warning, so unpredictable, that one moment the sun was shining; the next, raindrops as big as marbles were falling to the ground, shattering off the bodies of those who had been relaxing or studying quietly beneath the shade of a tree. Within a minute, one would be soaked and if possible, getting wetter by the minute.

Name: Amanda

Location: Kansas

About me:: I'm simply a high school student in Kansas (because, yes, people actually live here) and though I do not intend to fully support myself on my writing as an adult, I would like to write professionally at some point in my life. After high school, I plan to pick up and move myself to lovely, green Ireland where I'd love to attend Trinity college and work my way to becoming a high school theater teacher. Those are just my crazy plans for my future, though. As for now, I'm focusing on my acting and writing, just trying to struggle through school. I spend much of my time writing or spending time with my friends and family. Generic, huh? Well, how exactly do you expect one to sum up one's whole being into one paragraph without being generic?

About my journal: My journal contains a lot of myself. Lots of ranting about current events in my life, some posts of silly things I find amusing, and, whenever I write something, original or not, I post it there, as well. Someday when I get the motivation, I'll also make it look a lot prettier than it already does. While I love the themes LJ allows you to choose from, I'd like to get the motivation to make a theme of my personal muse.

What I write: I usually write stories about my preexisting characters, usually two in particular, or my friends characters that I've grown a fondness for. These stories range in genre, from sci-fi to realistic fiction to... just whatever. I can usually attempt to make my characters exist in most settings if I try hard enough, whether they'd like to be there or not. But ultimately, I write fiction. Sometimes the odd fanfiction, but that is far from often. Only when the feeling really hits me good and hard and I am extremely fond of the fandom.

What I prefer not to write: ANYTHING expository. School has gotten very good at turning me off of that. And poems. That would also be because of school, high school creative writing classes in particular.

What I read: My ultimately favorite series is the Noble Dead Saga by Barb and JC Hendee. I love vampires when they're done right. And I hate to admit it, but I'm also a huge fan of believable gore. Vampires that simply explode in a puff of dust are just no fun. I really like fantasy and sci-fi, but I'm rather finicky about them. I won't read just any fantasy book. I'm usually a fan of male heroes, too. Female characters usually strike me as cliche, so if I'm impressed by a female character, it's a bright and brilliant day. One non-fantasy book I die for, too, is The Outsiders by SE Hinton. The woman is a genius and all her early books are pure gold. Oh and, yes, I read manga here and there.

What I don't read: A lot, unfortunately. I tend not to be an avid reader because I often have difficulties with it. It's complicated to explain and usually doesn't make sense to even me, but when reading, not everything fits right in my head. Anyhow, I absolutely do not read romance novels/harlequins or teen dramas or wannabe fantasy books or... you know, there's a lot I don't read. Let's make a field trip to the library sometime and I'll show you all the books I don't read.

Favorite Author's: SE Hinton, Barb and JC Hendee, Christopher Moore, some Terry Pratchett, Moira J. Moore, CLAMP, Maggie O'Farrel

Favorite book(s): The Noble Dead Saga, The Outsiders, The Hero Returns, Lamb, The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, Where Angels Fear to Tread

Could I edit someone else's work: Of course. I'm big on grammar and imagery, despite what my English grades may lead you to believe. But I really like reading other people's work, especially if it seems like something I'd enjoy.

What I am looking for: Anyone who is good at critique and is very understanding and open-minded. I love for anyone to read my work, so long as I'm not flamed. I like constructive-criticism, thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.

Other: There's a lot of 'other', but I don't really have much motivation to put it all here. Well, actually, how about that I just got back from Mexico and somehow that drained a lot of my inspiration to do any writing, which is unfortunate. I want to start again soon because feeling without my muses (which is the main problem) makes me feel really depressed.

Name: Elle

About Me: I'm 18 years old. I am currently doing a creative writing degree. I live in Australia. I wish to be an editor to pay the bills, but be an author to write the stories that swirl in my head. My journal, while now refocusing on my writing will talk very occasionally about my social/love life due to the fact that I am 18 years old and know how to be 18. I often answer the "Question of the Day" here at LJ just to do some writing. Please do not be discouraged by the digressions from writing, I look at it as inspiration for later years to come.

What I Write: Mainly fiction. Short stories to novels. I'm working on my novel now. There is no set genre, it really depends on what the story is. But I'm a planner, so unless it's a uni assignment, it takes forever to get done. (I dabbled in fanfiction a couple of years back.)

What I Don't Write: Poetry. I have written haikus and free verse - as required by my course. I much rather analyse poetry than write it. I just don't have the rhyme for it, I believe. However, if I'm in a particularly cryptic mood, I will jot something down.

What I Like To Read: It's all over the shop. (I've removed the "Favourite Authors" section of this because of this reason.) I read Melina Marchetta (regular fiction); JRR Tolkien; I'm trying to get through CS Lewis and a Sherlock Holmes book at the moment. I read Stephenie Meyer (fantasy), Matt Reilly (action/adventure), JK Rowling, Paulina Simons (romance), Jane Austen (classic), Holly Black and Cassie Clare from the urban fantasy section. As i said, all over the shop. (Honestly, I just looked in my bookshelf and picked out names.)

What I Don't Read: There is nothing I won't try.

What I'm Looking For: People that write and practice their art. People that have resources and are ready to share. People that just want to talk about writing and talk about my writing - as I am willing to talk about theirs. People that know who Melina Marchetta and Matt Reilly are (and even those who don't). People that can make playlists with me for my stories - I always write with music, as I believe everyone should (or out in the world, like park benches or cafes).

Other: My sister is an aspiring animator and my father a painter. We're a creative family and I've always been told to dream. So I do that. There's a list of things I want to accomplish in my life and sometimes I will talk about those dreams. I like to wish.

Cross-posted. Feel free to add me or ask questions for more information. :D

I like reading poems/lyrics and analizing them too haha. I like reading biographies too.

What I Don't Read: Umm Im not into sci-fi books although ive read some and ive liked them. it depends you know.

Favorite Authors: Ellen Hopkins, Stephenie Meyer, Oscar Wilde, Jane Austen, etc.

What I'm Looking For: Some good short stories/poems/random writing and some cool internet friends :] Please do ask me for feedback and stuff.

Other: Well my life mostly revolves around music so i get most of my inspiration from my favourite songs although I can also get some from my own experiences.

add me :]

I'm going to be 18 in July, I love to hang out with friends and have a good time. I'm very funny, and witty. Im very easy to talk to, and I listen to people almost as much as I listen to music. I put a lot of emotion into anything I do, be it acting, singing, or writing. I always write what I feel, and what comes out, Its real, rough, uncut, and completly true. I have experinced much In my life, and because ot this I always try to keep other in mind when I write. Maybe someone else will take away something from one of my poems. A lot of people say they want to be a write when they grow up, but I am a writer. If you are reading this, then you are too. It doesnt matter if you are published or not, you write, there for you are. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
P.s. I cant spell.

What I Write: A lot of poetry. I always have good story ideas, and some screenplay ideas, but I never seem to go on with them and they get filed away inside my head, waiting for a rainy day. I have tried writing songs, but I cant seem to get that write either. I write essays for school of course, and I also write fanfiction. But for now, I write mainly poetry.

What I Don't Write: song, for now. Westerns, mysteries, crime, thriller, horror, action, adventure, historical fiction....I dont mind reading these types of things, but they just dont sound right when I try to write them.

What I Like To Read: Anything. If it catches my attention, it doesnt matter what it is, I will read it. YA, Adult, Fantisy, si-fi. ect...(Twilight series, Harry Potter, Eragon, the chrinicals of narnia, Darrin Shan, the earth my butt and other big round things, Vegin virgin valentine, Good girls, Evalution me and other freaks of nature, hard love....and so on)

What I Don't Read: Usually historical things.

Name: Kait

About Me: Well... let's just see. I'm unfortunately not fifteen for a few days(small lie: not fifteen until July 29, but I like to round up because being fourteen is completely ridiculous) and that is saddening. I enjoy quite a few things. Most of them happen to be things that do not involve other people because I truly like so few of them. (I don't me you. You write or read. And if you do one of these two things I probably will like you.) I almost passed-out today because I was in a kick-boxing class and am not in any sort of shape to be in a kick boxing class. I cannot spell.

I Write: nothing at the moment. This is not for lack of trying. Everything I seem to write has been a lovely shade of awful. I desperately hope this stops soon. In general I write a lot of romance stuff simply because it's easy and comes naturally. Not graphic, just cheesy and a little embarrassing to say that you wrote. I don't like it. I try to avoid it. I like fantasy, but I'm not spectacular at writing it.

I Don't Write: action/adventure. It isn't as if I don't like them, I just can't write action scenes (or read them) without getting horribly confused. I live in a very small town and frequently get lost as to where I happen to be going and how exactly I'm supposed to get there. I try to avoid fanfics because they're addicting, and with quotes, youtube, and livejournal I simply don't need anything else to keep me up until five in the morning.

I Like To Read: mostly anything, except what I'm going to put under this question. I do read the twilight books, but I do not like them. I read them because I think they are awful and I must spread this news to everyone. And I feel that I should be educated on a subject if I'm going to bash it. Cereal boxes and shampoo bottles.

I Don't Read: vampire novels. Some sci-fi, because as a general rule it scares the living daylights out of me.

Favorite Authors: I won't list, but if you want to add me and then ask I will compile a list for you.

I'm Looking For: <strike>a tall, well built man who likes long walks on the beach and late-night talks</strike>. Oops wrong community. Sorry. That was stupid. I
am not involved in any dating sites, I just like bad jokes. Seriously? People to read my work, and work to read. Someone to get me out of this darn writer's block.

Other: Add me? If at any time it gets too boring or poorly written, feel free to delete.

Name: Helen.

About Me: Hm, ok. Uhh, I'm terrible at this. I'm 16 and I'm wrapping up my junior year of high school right about now. I trip over my own feet a lot. I play the French horn and I'm in marching band. Music's my thing and I love a lot of bands. Short list: My Chemical Romance, AFI, Autopsia, Nine Inch Nails, Death Cab for Cutie, Sufjan Stevens. Long list: Is not worth listing. I like movies like Clerks [the first one], Office Space, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Fight Club. Those last two are also two of my favorite books. I love Palahniuk and Ken Kesey, and I also totally worship The Catcher in the Rye. I just finished like within the past ten minutes my term paper for English AP which is all about Holden Caulfield. Exciting. I used to draw some but I just sort of gave up on it, and I like taking photographs. And i am a total sucker for old abandoned buildings, doubly so if they're supposed to be ~haunted. Yeah, I'm a ghost freak. Deal.

I Write: Fiction. Realistic fiction generally. There's a story going on in my head about a young man whose family is in the mafia, and how he's such a part of it and how it affects him. I'd like to get it all written down someday before I like, you know, die. Sometimes I'll write about my own life as though it were fiction, which sometimes I wish it actually was. I write about anything I think of, generally. When I write it can be kind of harsh and gritty, but it can also be kind of flowery and cute. I'm not above gory or graphic either. And I like war fiction. I know, I'm bad. But nothing better to reflect human suffering, hm? And as much as I do write - I've got notebooks everywhere in my house and all sorts of random thing scribbled on random bits of paper in them -, I have a terrible writer's block and haven't written anything decent in ages, so none of it has found its way to the pits of the internet. My journal's relatively new and there's only one piece of fiction, and it's actually really bad.

I Don't Write: Flowery cutesy shitsy shit about how life is grand. Just grand. [What a phony word!] High fantasy. It's just too... I used to like it, I hate it now. Too....... ~fantastical. Uhm, duh. Science fiction. Poetry - while I'd love to, i'm terrible at it. And same with fanfiction - I'd love to, i'm horrible at it. I managed a few pieces back in the day, but back in the day was a long time ago.

I Like To Read: Speculative fiction, war stories, realistic fiction, unexpected things. Things that grab my interest. Things that defy convention. short fiction that makes you think. and of course, every fangirl's indulgence - fanfiction. /Well-written/ fanfiction. And well written, tasteful erotica even though I'm not supposed to. Take that, Big Brother.

I Don't Read: Anything that every teenage girl in America is tripping over. High fantasy. Boring things. Most of the fiction assigned to me this year in English simply because it didn't quite tickle my fancy, which would explain why I consistently made B's on my tests.

Favorite Authors: Chuck Palahniuk, Ken Kesey, J. D. Salinger. ummm. Philip Roth. i don't know. I read anything I find interesting.

I'm Looking For: An audience. Someone to critique bad writing and make it better. Someone to give me a push and help me break this writer's block. Someone to be my muse and give me ideas. Maybe even someone to co-write with someday. Or I'm also looking to read some new and interesting fiction or short stories. And maybe a couple aspiring English majors to yammer back and forth with. And also people who are willing to put up with listening about my life, since that's what you'll get with the majority of my journal. But i'll try to make it interesting to read.

Name: Jessica

Age: 18

Location: Not telling :P I do live in the U.S., though

About me: I'm horrible at writing "about me" pieces. Let me see. I'm a senior in high school who will be attending Curry College next year in pursuit of some sort of a degree in English/Creative writing. I enjoy reading but it's been quite hard to find a decent book to keep my dear old mind occupied (my attention span = non-existant). My boyfriend says I speak galaxies, which is his name for my poetic talk. Hmm. My favorite season is autumn and my favorite color is indigo. I'm a cat person, but not really. I am Christian and a "creationist" as a friend of mine said earlier today. I try my best not to judge and condemn. And... I'm human.

What I write: Poetry, for the most part, but I've been trying (trying is the key word) to write a short story. Most of my work is fantasy or horror related, though the horror is lacking the fright factor if you ask me. I've taken part in online RP in the past.

What I don't write: I'm open to writing mostly anything, as long as it catches my interest. Well. I don't use structure very well when writing my poems. I'm not into the whole rhyming thing, but I'll do it... I just let my words take me instead of me taking them.

What I like to read: Fantasy; sci-fi that does not go overboard with robots, aliens, or impossibly advanced technology; and some gothic horror, whatever that is. I do enjoy reading about religion, fairy tales, and mythology. Erotica is also fine with me, as long as it isn't too harsh.

What I don't read: Western; Gossip Girl esque books; homosexual erotica... fan-fics. Am I too picky?

Favourite authors: Francesca Lia Block; Charles de Lint; Neil Gaiman; Octavia E. Butler; Patricia A. McKillip; Madeleine L'Engle; C.S. Lewis; J.R.R. Tolkien (though I've never finished anything by him, his writing style is amazing).

Other: Did you know the vampire lifestyle classifies people with titles such as "Black Swan"?

My name is Lerena Leigh Helena, and by my icon, you should be able to tell I'm actually an ex-fan of the anime InuYasha, hence my username. In order to partake in an interesting past time, I've taken up writing fanfiction more often. It would be pleasing to hear from other writers who enjoy Anime, or Charmed; if you are a fan of either, we should talk about collaborate fanfiction. I'm a girl who likes to experiment with different horizons and types of literary works; poetry, non-fiction, novels, and dialog. I participate in events that allow me to explore my creative nature more often. Don't prosecute me over grammar and spelling, writers, I'm typing this in haste.

I understand many of you are creators/maintainers of several writing communities. At times, despite the rules, few even advertise them outside your introductions. As a maintainer myself, I sympathize but this is simply a community to add friends of a similar interest. I would like for it remain simply that. However, lately, I've been receiving lots of emails from community members asking if I know of any "good writing communities" where actual writing/critiquing/whatever is done. I unfortunately don't, but I want to change that. If you are a maintainer or member of a writing community and want to give it exposure, please comment with said community and tell me about it. TAGS! WE HAS EM NAO! In the next several days I'm going to be adding tags to past posts in both add_a_writer and add_a_ya. I think many might appreciate a feature like that compared to flipping back post by post. Feel free to give me a hand by adding the appropriate tags to your post(s). If you feel as if I mis-tagged you, remove it. I'm merely adding what I feel is appropriate by what you offer in your introductions. If you think of anything else that has not been listed in the Tags list and would like to see it available, tell me.

Once again, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.

Keep Writing,

Vanessa

eta: comments will be screened

Name: Aleth

About Me: I'm terrible when it comes to writing about myself, but somehow I manage. I often like to say things like 'Oh sigh' instead of actually sighing and occasionally I'll type out the weird noises I make when I'm tired, hungry, or exasperated. (ex. 'Auuuu', 'Guhhh', 'Mehhh') It probably sounds as dumb as it looks, but I don't know how else to describe it to you. I get pretty excited when I chat over AIM and I often barrage people with multiple messages of fragments of a single sentence if the conversation is engaging enough.

I Write: Fiction. I don't know how much more specific I can get than that, but I think it's mostly what teenage girls would read. My writing tends to lean towards drama, romance, and my style is to throw in a bit of humor whether it be a character or a circumstance. Basically, anything I or anyone can have fun with as either a reader or a writer. I also do a bit of fanfiction here and there, but

I Don't Write: Mystery, Suspense, Horror. You know, any of those books with the intricate plots and underlying mysteries to be solved. I can't do them. Non-fiction is another thing I don't often associate with. Blah, not for me at all.

I Like To Read: I tend to go to Costco and browse whatever is on sale there for some randomly selected reads, but as I write I mostly pick up anything that falls in the fiction genre. Mainstream or literary. Young Adult books are nice for quick reads and romance novels are pretty crazy. I really, really liked horror novels when I was young, for some reason, but I like anything that catches my interest, really. Gothic fiction, for example.

I Don't Read: Non-fiction. Boring, bland novels.

Favorite Authors: Off the top of my head, I liked a lot of Jane Austen's work, Gail Carson Levine, and Chuck Palahniuk. Aside from that asking for favorite authors is like asking for favorite bands. I like individual pieces more often than artists/authors themselves. I'm a literary drifter, going all over the place, but don't take that term too seriously because I just threw it in there because it sounded cool.

I'm Looking For: Anyone who would be interested in having another pal, not just another name on your friend's list.

Other: I don't come off as too odd, do I? Come along and post on my semiFriends Only entry if I haven't scared you away~

Name: Swanky

Age: Mentally? Definitely at least two. XP

Location: America

About me: I never know what to write in these things. I like a whole bunch of things, from RPing to reading to drawing to procrastinating. Lately though school has been eating up all my happy fun time, and what free time I do have I misuse and abuse. I have recently gotten into all sorts of lovely T.V. shows like Dexter, House, Skins, Dr. Who, Torchwood, the Office (U.S.), but Heroes will always be number one. I spend too much of my free time looking up pretty icons, I laugh over things that most people find stupid at best, and I like to talk to people who do not find it a chore to talk back.

What I write: XD Oh dear. I haven’t written anything original in years, sadly enough. Lots of ideas, not enough push past the first paragraph and the random seed of all encompassing inspiration. Mostly I stick to fanfiction, though I haven’t done that in ages either, mostly since I like RPing more. It’s more fun and interactive, I think, and it’s a good way to meet people. Though I have dabbled in just about everything from haikus to limericks to short stories.

What I don't write: Sci-Fi (too technical), smut, and long chaptered stories. My attention is a sad, sad thing.

What I like to read: Almost everything. I love to read things that make me learn, about people who go through things I never would, or just a corny romance novel. I’ve even started reading the newspaper, yay! The easier question would be what don’t I like to read, though I don’t think there’s really anything on the list other than most ‘classical’ works. I’ve even read parts of the dictionary in fits of boredom. Yea, I know I’m, a nerd.

What I don't read: Sci-Fi (though Ender’s Game was pretty awesome, I’ll admit), badly written works, stuff that is saturated with needless description (sorry Tolkien).

Favourite authors: Francesca Lia Block, Tamora Pierce, Markus Zusak, Annette Curtis Klause, Gail Carson Levine, though usually I just love individual books more than their authors…

Other: Feel free to stop by and say hi! When I say friendly, I do mean it. Even if my conversational skills are not uber mad pwnzors, I do love meeting new people. I’m a Gemini? XP

I'm blonde(the dumb blonde steriotype doesn't apply to me), and I have gray-blue eyes.

What I Write: Pretty much anything. I espiecally love to write romance and fantasy stories. The problem that I have is that I get too many story ideas, so I never actually finish a story.

What I Don't Write: Lyrics and poems. (I am not good at rhyming)

What I Like To Read: I love most books. I espiecally like romance. I am a complete sap when it comes to romance.

What I Don't Read: Books that start out slow and don't get to the point of the story.

Favorite Authors: Stephenie Meyers, JK Rowling, Lisa Klein, Tamora Pierce, Nancy Holder, Robin McKinley, Elizabeth C. Bunce... too many to count...

What I'm Looking For: People to talk to and get book recommendations from.

Other: I'm willing to critique other people's stories.

I love writing and I'm an avid reader of almost anything. I'm a student in her last mainstream year of school, mature for my age but still fun! I have a colourful, photographic memory and I remember pretty much everything - important or not. I write in a lot of detail and can be a bit of a perfectionist at times. I'm a graphic maker and I make layouts, icons and banners among other things. I'm a biker chick - been around motorbikes my entire life and I can be rather opinionated and stand up for what I believe in. I'm sensitive and I will always listen to and help anyone in need. You can find out more on my user info page.

What I Write: Drabbles, stories, novels, essays, poems, lyrics. I don't think there's much I won't try when it comes to writing. I prefer writing in the romance genre if I'm writing something long. I love writing essays especially when they're on something I believe in or it's something I'm passionate about.

What I Don't Write: Haiku poems. I cannot do them.

What I Like To Read: Anything I can get my hands on. I just love to read! I'm always willing to try new types of books/genres/different things to my normal reading.

What I Don't Read: Novels that take about half the book to get to the point of the story and anime novels.

Favorite Authors: Jodi Picoult, Stephenie Meyers, JK Rowling, Annie Murray, Margaret Dickinson, Penny Vincenzi, Cecelia Ahern.

What I'm Looking For: People to chat to and friend who have interesting pieces of writing on their LJ or people who want work critiqued or like critiquing. I'm open to anyone to be honest. =) Also Book recommendations, LJ community recommendations, LJ friends =)

Other: I'm willing to read other people's work and comment on it.
