| About: | Here are the new rules/options for posting. Learn them, live them, love them. These rules may be re-written at times for clarification for those who try to make an end-run around the written rules and then complain that they are not breaking the EXACT rule as written. I'm very sorry about this) No matter what you choose, you are representing ONE ENTIRE day (24 hours, y'all!)and ONE day only. Any posts labeled for more than 1 (one) day will be deleted. No comment, no questions. Simple. So on to the days... 70 images or less that tell your story from the time you wake up (or within 15 minutes because we like bed head) until you go to bed (or within a short time before). Not 2-3 hours. Just minutes. We want to know what your day was all about. Tell the story in words and pictures. 70 images/pics may be a challenge to you but it's a fair challenge. Show you have the talent to make your pictures really be worth a thousand words. No more than 70 on this one and THAT INCLUDES YOUR TEASER PICTURE. More than that takes you to the next kind of post. [REMEMBER] Your teaser pic counts in your total, even if it's repeated in the post. This WILL take you over the limit. Mega post (thumb-nail post) (Even the teaser pic must be thumbnailed) This is the new one. Pay CLOSE attention to this one. 71-100 pictures that tell the story of your whole day. Same rules as above (Waking to sleeping). The difference with this one is simple. The images HAVE to be thumb-nails linked to the normal sized images you took. This way, the dial-up people and the ones who just don't want to wait for all those big images to load can both check out your day. They can click on the thumbnails of images that interest them. Thumbnails can NOT be bigger than your LJ icon. That will be plenty big for people to get the idea if they want to click them or not. Any post over 100 images WILL be deleted. No matter which version of ADIML post you do, you MUST put the exact number of images you used before the lj-cut or within the text of the lj-cut. This is a must and it non-negotiable. None of this "ISH" nonsense. If you are too lazy to count your own pics, it will be deleted. If you lie about the number of images, it will be deleted. It's smart to post the day on your own journal before posting on ADIML. That would save a HUGE amount of problems with people forgetting or messing up their LJ cuts. Saves everyone headaches. I know this seems like common sense but not many people think that far ahead. No video will be posted anymore. No outside links of ANY kind are allowed. People were abusing this privilege. Sorry. If you want to post a link to your own journal that has more images and videos, you are free to as long as the post you submit fits the normal rules otherwise. Remember to put the link under the lj-cut. Do not JUST post a link to your journal. Do not post links to ANYWHERE outside LJ (The exception, of course, are the thumbnails if you use a picture hosting site). Quick reminders A day starts when you get up in the morning and go to bed at night. It does not start halfway through one night and to the next one. Wake-sleep. That's it. The only way around this is if you wake at dusk and sleep at dawn or live a similar lifestyle. Please limit the number of days you upload. We are aiming for diversity here and if newbies see multiple days by the same people, it can be a little off putting. If you post more than once a week, it will be deleted. In other words, 7 days must past between posts. The photos must be taken by you, and you alone; UNLESS someone else is taking a pic of you. If you are in somewhere that you can't take a camera (for example, a meeting), take a picture of where you are. Only one medium (No more than 640x480 ) pic above the lj-cut. If it stretches a browser window set at 800X600, it's too large. Be considerate to others. Try to take at least one pic an hour. Remember, this is not an event. Spread your pictures out through the WHOLE day. Pictures can be out of focus (we are going for natural here), especially if self portraits. Having said that, this is not an “art” community so if you take a picture of something, try to make it recognizable. Time checks are not required, but it helps to have them so people get a sense of the time of day. Combined images count as separate so if you put 4 separate images into one, it's 4...not 1 image. Things that shouldn't have to be said... NEVER delete a Mod comment. Ever. Never screen comments. NO NUDITY! There are underage members of this community so have a little common sense. If you post nudity, you will not only have your post deleted, but you will be banned from this community. No Pornography in any form (for those who do not understand the concept of "any form". This means written or in pictures). This is a "Well DUH!" thing and yet idiots keep doing it. If you have to do one of those "peeing" pics, then leave it at showing your feet. Do NOT post your lame butt perched on the toilet with your butt-cheeks showing. We do not need to see full body shots of you peeing. If you have that much of a need to film yourself peeing, do post them on a "Golden Showers" website. Do not post anything ILLEGAL in the USA. Any flamers will be banned from posting or commenting. There is no second chance here. You do NOT harass other people or the mods. The mods are still people. If you think your post was deleted without cause, ask a mod. Do not do a “why?!?!?!” post and complain. Do not just repost your day. ASK a mod. Do not post just text unless you are a mod. This is a picture community.
