A Saturday in Massachusetts
Stuff to know? Nursing student. Daycare worker. Music lover.
However, not too much of that really comes into play for this day. This is my
Saturday, June 21st,
a typical day-off of errands and friends.

Rise and shine, bright eyes.

Time? I've been pretty good about not sleeping tooooo late this summer.

And stretch.

I'm still early enough for pancakes! My dad cooks me up some and I eat them too fast to take a picture.

Facebook check, duuhhh. I can't decide whether I would die without Facebook, or actually develop a life.

My

What to wear, what to wear....

I make my bed, but apparantly my brain was functioning only enough to tell me to take a before picture and not an after.
Oh and note the sun saying, "HEYYCAITLIN, hope you don't mind if I drop in! Every morning! At sunrise! And wake you up!"
I need to

I always catch the clock, it's 11:11
....Always makes me think of Konstantine, but really I was listening to Nineteen Ninety Seven's new CD. Purty gooood. (:

Soon-- dressed, and putting my contacts in. Woooo, eyesight!

Blurrybrush my teeth...

I should maybenot make faces. Hair & make-up are done, though.

We don't need a plan to make sense of time, we just let it go by, by, by
I think words and lyrics appear. Time check!

Time for some leftover Pizza Hut from the night before. Only now, in retrospect, do I realize that I had breakfast and lunch pretty close together. I was hungryyyy.

Running errands with my mom... We go to the hair salon real quick, then go to the library to find some books for her to read to her summer camp kids next week. I like this one. But it really doesn't have words, unless you could BLOOMP and BOING.

I wasn't very much help for my mom, but I did find some really cute picture books. And I snuck a Harry & The Potters CD into her stack of Disney Radio compilations so I could check it out geek-harrassment-free.

We get home, and my mom has me download some more kids songs for her to use at her camp. I'm secretly pleased to add the Chicken Dance to my iTunes.

We flip on the Sox game, but I don't pay too much attention. Time = 2:55 now!

I *so* thought I was over really sugary pop-rock bands, but I went to see these guys (The Morning Light) with a friend the night before and I rediscovered a guilty pleasure. They're fun, okay? Don't judge.

The picture is blurry, but try and make out Minnie's look of horror at being held so close to my sister, Ashlee.

Mittens, my other baaaby, is far less cuddly but also less blurry.

My friend Christina discovered a function on her cell phone that lets her dictate words to be typed into text messages. Cool right? Only it's really bad about actually getting the right word. So she sends me random incomprehensible texts. "Competent crap" is a pretty nifty phrase, though.

KT swings by around 5:30 and we head out in her car, to our friend Casey's graduation/18th birthday party! Most of my friends and I graduated last year, so thankfully the grad parties are a LOT more sporadic this summer. We can actually enjoy them, rather than skipping from one to the next every weekend!

Mmmm, vegan mint-chocolate cupcake. I forgot a picture of my actual dinner-food, but this looked better anyway.

Bubbles?! We have a thing for bubbles. And anything else that allows us to act like 6 year olds.

Sam is decidedly unhappy about what she just drank.

Stay away, bugs! We have a lantern!

Mmm fruit and cookies.

KT ate a bubble?

We had to move the lanterns away from Sam so she'd stop inhaling the chemicals.

The stay-away-bugs tiki torches light a few leaves on fire.
Bad idea #2152: Putting torches next to trees.

Yes, more bubbles.

We actually do get bored with the bubbles eventually. Really.
Well, we get distracted anyway.

...Because the ice cream truck shows up! It was passing by, coming from the lake down the street, when that ice cream lady hit the JACKPOT on a yard full of 16-19 year olds.

Frankie's TMNT has a lazy eye.

They make KT-shaped ice creams?

Time check at 9:31! It gets dark.

Luckily we have FIAHHH to light things up.

Strangely enough, this is normal for Daphney and Sam. No living creatures were actually harmed in the making of this DIML in any way. Except maybe a few mosquitoes in the bug zapper.

Sam lit her slush cup on fire....

...Then tried to blow it out, but instead only knocked it over and spread the fire some, until finally the cup stopped rolling and we put it out. It did melt to the tablecloth, though.

The bugs finally start getting to us, so we go inside for a bit to chat and such. I left with KT around 11:00.

I come home and wash up. I decide to shower the next morning rather than that night, because I felt dead-tired.

I don't know why brushing my teeth called for a look of confused shock.

I find Minnie in the exact position I would like to be-- sleeping, with my laptop and iPod within easy reach.

Quick Facebook/Livejournal check occurs at 11:52.

And I upload the majority of my pictures from the day.

Computer-ing cannot happen without music!

Then I remember how I am really tired.

Bedtime! Goodnight. (:
[I did a few DIML posts a few years ago, but all my attempts since then have failed. I forgot how much work captioning could be!]
PS, I'm always looking for new LJ friends! :D
