My dear friends: this is a special birthday gift from me to you. I know it's supposed to be the other way round, but things have been really sweet lately and I wanted keep the psychic nectars a-flowing. Lots of exciting things happening since 2006 began... and now suddenly it's May(??!?) and I've turned 32. And Kelly is 14, parts long that is. Need to catch up before we begin?

Thanks for playing with me; see you jerks next week... and DON'T FORGET to drop by SMITH Magazine on Monday AM for the beginning of SHOOTING WAR, my other free weekly graphic novel.

Frame five is PERFECT.
It's like a combo between "Are you fucking kidding me?" and "Well, maybe it wouldn't be so bad."

This is rocking me.

Now I remember! Smelly kid. I always had an issue with figuring out whether he was leaning my way to cheat on pop quizes or leaning due to necrosis. Now I know! Huzzah!

That's a pretty swell TOOL icon as well.

Looks like I was too dense to get your joke until just now. Go, me!

Not in the least related to this post, but have you cracked the puzzle in the 4 portrait pics on 10,000 days?

No, sir. Have you?

I noticed Danny's has a Tree Of Life diagram in the background, but I haven't really studied hard yet.

I've only just started looking in depth, but I must admit to being stumped. I figure it'll occur to me out of the blue.

Thanks, doggy! I nearly added a line there but reading the whole thing with Lilli before, that silent panel got the best laugh... and so it remained.

Again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Dan!

The story needed some room and breathe and chill (I did too)... the fact that this particular bit landed on my birthday was extra reason to work on it instead of going to the park for a few hours. I was washed clean too.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

sweeeeeeeeeeet.

my friend ___ got a clown fish from another friend of mine once. the fish ended up dieing pretty quick. so of course, he fried it up and ate it. appearently clown fish are only poisonous with anemonies in the tank. also, they have no taste.

If I were your friend, I would've slit my wrists halfway through FINDING NEMO after that affair. Maybe tartar sauce would've helped...?

That is one happy cat. Excellent closure, and Max's expression in panel 5 is more than just appropriate, it also omiously indicates he learned to trust Kelly.
...
Bring on the catastrophe.

Catastrophe? But we're doing so well right now with Max and Kelly? You mean, things are going to get bad again...?

The series has landed. The universe has normalized nicely and this is the perfect capper to 1-13. I'm calmed, calibrated and ready to go back into the fray. Will somebody answer that damn phone!

Yeah - I'm now pumping my praise directly into the public eye.

Happy b-day punkin!

I wished you a HB in my LJ on the day, but I can do it again, so there ya have it.

Now, to clrify my last confusion and I still have it here. How the hell did Kelly see what Max was tripping about? and why isn't he more upset about the dead fish? Seriously, I need to know what and who Kelly really is... it's almost like I'd rather not read each week and wait for it to be over. The suspense would kill me less!
