Oh...yeah, huh. Well, then make a different, cooler comic! I demand it!

M*A*S*H is awesome. I can't see anyone brought up on a steady diet of Dr Hawkeye going wrong.

Yes! Your self-portrait at the end doing the math, attempting to logically add it up the sum of your paternal input, is perfect.. it's as sad and confusing and open-ended as adulthood.

Indeed. Quite mad and witty and sexy Hawkeye props. Not Season 5 of sad flaccid M*A*S*H and beyond Hawkeye props.

Nice save, Josh!

This comic is great, but I'm wondering: given the color of choice, was Prince a father figure?

Hmmm. Good point. But his Royal Purpleness was more of a brother figure, or, more accurately, the gay lover I never had.

Very interesting so far. Joseph's unibrow kind of makes him look like Steve Buscemi if Steve Buscemi was crossed with Frankenstein.

Thanks for noticing the unibrow! I worked hard on that effect.

P.S. The real Joseph had more of a short, stocky Frankenstein aspect, but I didn't have any photographic reference, so that's what resulted...

Hey, give it up to your Momz for being able to attract men young enough to be her son. Except Alan Alda. He was likely as involved as was the broccoli.

So were there no further father figures for you after age 24? I'd likely have been just as fascinated if this were three pages long.

Interestingly, I think the one who looks the most engaging is Phil. Maybe it's just because I draw smileys on hamburger patties too.

well, i may have cut out a man or two, but i ran out of panels!

glad you liked Phil. he was/is a good guy. he was more pleasant looking than the rather satanic aspect I gave him in the story.

Actually, he looked rather pleasant. There's a resemblance between him and my old boss, who in turn reminds me of my dad.

Gotta love a man who counts Hawkeye Pierce as a father figure. It's probably better than me who counts Bob Deniro, Bruce Willis and the dad from DINOSAURS as co-dads, even though I've always had my crazy, silly, weird, frustrating, supportive father... but those outside influences? They're the ones to blame for it all! ALL OF IT! Damn that Danny Aiello!

Always like your comics.
This reminds me of the comic you did where you were using math to rate
your Teen Titan comics and other things. I think math could be your other calling.

One bit of crit. I figured out what you were talking about, but the way you start your
comic threw me for a moment. I was like "Phil reacted to 9-11 attack by making smile faces on burgers?" Then I saw you were talking about age.
I guess I was the only one though so, nevermind!

"Guess he WAS cut out..." is a wonderfully powerful line. This is a really strong piece, since it's emotionally charged and could easily go melodramatic and emo but nonetheless maintains its composure.

thanks. glad you caught that little aside. that's what i always try to do, deal with emotional issues but without sentimentality.
