Oh how you make me want to strangle the room mate. The piece-of-shitness is fucking palpable.

I love your colors BTW. I like the comic. I hate the character. Seeing him get his would be so rewarding. Please kill him. Its the least you could do after to exposing me to his neo-nazi, enema covered as.

I like the panel usage too. Its like a series of woodcuts. Psychadelic woodcuts.

OH NO! And I thought Max only had work and roommate problems? Girls, too??? Love the juxt 'tween photo and art. Somehow, your kind of expressionism makes it sing.

I agree, I haven't seen anyone make photo+art work as effectively as you do. Awesome.

Looking at loads of untranslated manga here in NYC at Book-Off; not being able to read the stories makes it easier to isolate/pinch some of manga's simplest visual indicators for use here in the West.

badass, great narrative, fav's def being the title card, love the chiseled lines there, and the door lean relief, very much has a sweet Dave McKean "Cages" feel..

On the constructive crit side, the digital feel of the word bobbles doesn't compliment the line weighting and color slabs, seems to clean and inorganic to my eye. For example, if the balloons "breathed" the way the lines describing the phone do, they would possibly better live inside the frames. I defer to that "Cages" book as an example of merging, though perhaps excessively, the narrative and dialogue text into the image panels. Paul Pope would be another good example, or that cat did the Matrix and hardcover Batman story, "Engine" I think it was called, sorry, drawing a blank on his name. Doh!

Brilliant work, though, look forward to seeing more!
Cheers!

Thanks for the crits; I've been craving the conversion of my handwriting into a font or two but I simply don't have the time.

Maybe for the "Kelly" graphic novel...?

the cat on the headboard(?) is awesome. an old roommie of mine has a cat that will sit in the most uncomfortable places/positions... and i just wonder why he stays there when there's somany otherplaces he could be.

*sigh* Me too. There always seems to be a happy/cheesy song/ringtone that pops up during your darkest hour; there's a sugar-coated brutality to it that I love. The Coen Brothers do it the best in their music choices in "Fargo"...

I love Kelly so much that I avoid it depending on what sort of food I've consumed during the day.

This one, however, did not make me sick on first read... Even after drinking a giant latte... What is this? Dan going clean? I should hope not.
