That is top notch, fella. The textural colors just dazzle my eyballisms.

I really like how I can feel Max's anger in the "don't talk on my time" panel.

Very excited about this whole Act-I-Vation station....
...um...
correlation?

Daniel-san, with this comic and the attention your affiliation is sure to bring you, the world will finally learn what I've known for over five years:

You are far too talented to be allowed to live.

Take him.

Hell of a beginning... and I really dig on the strange washes of color and the blurred look reality has... it just adds to the creepiness of the chapter break.

Great work... keep it coming!

Just read the Newsarama story, and I'm so glad you're not afraid to list SMUT PEDDLER as one of your credits. Just for that, I'm totally putting the Activate blog on the Links list for SGP.

Cheers!

thanks turkey! that one panel was a turning point for me getting my head round the painting.

the font is Generica Condensed Medium; i get slippy for art deco fonts. email me off-LJ and i can pop you a Mac TTF if you can't score it.

You bring the NEO in so many innovative ways. Holy crap there's much to chew on in your psychedelic solutions. I especially dig the last bunch of panels in the subway and the chapter break is creepy as all get out. Not to mention the surgical pacing. You've arrived, bro-san.

flaming pigeon: AWESOME. i love your comix collage technique. it's a treat to look at, either in traditional sequential panel form, on the flickr slideshow. very very cool! the only hiccup is in the slight confusion generated by the narrator saying he's staying in his brother's apt. closet, and then the fact that Kelly calls him "brother". made me think Kelly was his brother. maybe Kelly should call him, "dude"? or "man"? or "beyotch"?????

ah, hadn't thought of that, but it won't confuse/affect the story for long. the "brother" thing is all going to come to light as we find out more about this Kelly character (winkwink).

i'm glad you enjoyed it...

This Act-I-Vate shiz is the nazz.

But we're here today to talk about this comic. Wow. What a great visual style. Great hook at the ending - I can't wait to see more.

You totally captured the trapped, harrassed feeling of working at the bottom of a day job.

I don't know if I just became aware of it or if something kicks in when people get into their late twenties/ early thirties, but it seems like I'm meeting more and more people on these strange little Arial/Garamond power trips.

love the blue halo in panel 11 -- the one where he is on the phone.

Wow, I love this. Way to go. I just love the big blocks of text in white over black. On a practical level, you can get more info without upsetting the aesthetics of the panel, but the way it hits you and affects the pacing of it just makes it even more perfect. Very cool. Can't wait to see more.

Very cool. Ya, I've always loved photos mixed with other mediums. I think I started to like this around...well, LOTR (the original of course). Your style is a little different naturally, but a nice implementation of the same idea.

Wow. Excellently done. You definitely caught my attention for the next issue.
I love how efficient the prose is and how the images propels the story. I haven't read a good graphic novel in a very long time, with my being a very strict reader of Miller and Mack.

I would love to see more of your work since I am just getting familiar with you right now.

Well done! I agree that the white on black text breaks are very effectively used. Love the vibrance, the mixture of media, and of course, the writing. My favorite panel is the wide shot of Max in the office after the boss leaves. Such eye candy! Ya got the hooks in me. Looking forward to the next installment!
