" Le ricamatrici " è uno di quei film che sono felice di aver preso, quasi a scatola chiusa, perchè ne sapevamo poco e niente.
E' una trama molto bella e molto ben raccontata, ambientata in un paese della campagna francese, nella quale la protagonista Claire si sente soffocare.
Aspetta un figlio, sapendo già di volerlo dare in adozione dopo il parto. Corrisponde con Lucile, una sua amica trasferitasi per motivi di studio a Lione, e anche a lei trova il coraggio solo a gravidanza ormai avanzata di parlare della sua situazione.
La sua passione di ricamatrice la porta a contattare una donna ben nota nel paese come ricamatrice, una donna al quale è morto un figlio - rimasto vittima in un incidente insieme al fratello di Lucile.
Quello che inizia come un rapporto di lavoro temporaneo nel laboratorio della donna, diventa poi una vbellissima amicizia.
In molte scene predomina il silenzio, ma sguardi e dialoghi sono così ben dosati da mantenere comunque il film scorrevole e per nulla pesante.

Proprio una bella pellicola, credo la rivedrò presto.

My boys were kind enough to share the bug that has been going around, despite my telling them that they could be selfish and keep it to themselves. My tonsils are the size of grapes. I fucking hate summer colds.

In other not-fun news, I'm really pissed off at one of my coworkers for a not-work-related thing, so I have to try to be polite on the clock no matter what I think. Here's the story: the last few days, we've had maintenance guys coming in and being really loud in the mornings--hauling furniture and waxing floors. They're a crew of students from the college working for the summer, so they all know each other and shout back and forth down the hall. When our shifts last approximately 5 p.m. to 2 or 3 a.m., 9 a.m. is a little early in the morning for that. Well, evidently yesterday, a couple of the girls on the other end of the hall came out and asked them to be a little quieter (obviously they can't run their machinery any quieter, but they could walk twenty feet instead of shouting). Well, I don't know what happened exactly, but the girls were so upset that they wrote letters to human resources saying that they had been harassed. Having heard the way these guys talked to each other, I totally believe it. Who knows, maybe I'm biased because it so easily could have been me if I'd had the energy to drag myself out of bed.

But I heard my coworker talking about the situation with someone else today, and she actually used the phrase, "Boys will be boys, you know?" No, I'm sorry, I don't know. You cannot allow them off the hook like that. My grandfather used that excuse until he was eighty-two, because no one ever made him grow up and realize that his actions had consequences. Even my interns, who started out playing the "how crude do we have to be to shock her?" game, have learned that I don't put up with that shit. And guess what? I told them to knock it off, and they did. College guys who know how to respect women. Novel concept, apparently.

I am really happy with the way the school handled it, though: they quickly pulled the mainentance crew out of any building we are in. They had fifteen minutes to pack up their stuff this morning, and they'll have to do our buildings once we move out. Don't know if there are going to be any disciplinary actions, but at least they took immediate action to prevent other problems. Props to you, HR department.

Несмотря на состояние полутрупа, я вчера еще умудрилась после работы съездить в Мытищи в кино на "Секретные материалы". о.О Даже не буду описывать, что со мной творится сегодня с самого утра...
Кстати именно сегодня, в единственный на неделе день, когда я надела не кеды, а сандали, мне на ногу наступили железным каблуком, я теперь даже смотреть вниз боюсь...
Но написать я хотела о "Секретных материалах".
Слоган у фильма должен был быть что-то вроде "Хороший сценарий где-то рядом". Можно даже не упоминать изрядно истасканного жизнью Дэвида Духовны и Джиллиан Андерсон с мешками под глазами (не хватило штукатурки?..), все равно останется над чем поглумиться.
Во-первых, это главный неубиваемый шлягер 90-х, главная музтема сериала. Куда ее только не пихали и всегда не к месту. Я так и не поняла, почему она играла, когда показали висящий на стене портрет Дж. Буша Младшего. Он инопланетянин? Или "развратил 37 маленьких мальчиков", как главный экстрасенс в фильме?..
Во-вторых, я вообще не врубилась толком в сюжет, он какой-то недоработанный, с кучей не связанных эпизодов. И вообще, надо было снимать фильм об инопланетном вторжении или мутанте каком-нибудь (типа Тумпса), а не о последователях академика Павлова.
В-третьих, зачем гомосексуалисту пришивать женское тело?.. о.О Простите, а что будет делать его любовник?.. Если там была проблема в группе крови, все равно ничего не знаю, они только женщин резали на органы.
И в конце меня совсем добил Скиннер, сжимающий Малдера в обьятиях и что-то ему ласково шепчущий...
Фигня да и только.

Manics! Manics! MANICS!
Это было не просто сногшибательное выступление, это был самый лучший, самый охренительный концерт в моей жизни! Даже Лена сказала, что Radiohead рядом с Manics и не стояли по драйву. Мне трудно это описать, но кто меня видел наверняка понял бы все и без слов :) Достаточно сказать, что у меня не просто были мокрые волосы, но и мокрая задница ;)
Я сорвала голос, мне отдавили ноги, я отдавила их еще кому-то, в процессе у меня слетал кед, но мы продолжали несмотря ни на что! Черт, никогда так не радовалась! Хотелось бы пообщаться с теми ребятами, с которыми мы зажигали в одной куче :)) А с девчонками я вроде за все лет 12, что мы знакомы, никогда столько в порыве восторга не обнималась. В результате этого безумия, мы очутились ряду в 3-4, и там уже оторвались просто по полной.
Ники правда меня разочаровал, роль бревна ему хорошо удалась, но вот Джеймс... Джеймс - просто молодец, надо сказать раньше я его недооценивала.
Люди, которые были рядом, меня несказанно радовали знанием всех песен и дружным хором их оравших. Джеймс вроде тоже это оценил.
Если сказать о легком разочаровании, то Manics ничего не исполнили с Holy Bible, но я понимаю, что сколько бы они ни сыграли, мне бы все равно было мало. Жалко, что они и на бис не вышли, уж мы орали, пока хватало дыхалки.
Еще сложилось впечатление, что истинных поклонников там человек десять, если учитывать нашу психованную кучку. И какого хуя, пардон за мой французский, вся середина зала, от начала и конца, стояла как будто им в задний проход засунули железные штыри?.. За Родину обидно (с)

И мы еще не могли успокоиться часов до 3 ночи, обсуждая это событие.

Надо сказать, что так плохо как сейчас, мне тоже никогда не было. Ноги подгибаются, глаза закрываются, трамвай я догоняла уже резвым галопом, а свою остановку в метро проспала...

Но жизнь прекрасна пока есть такие группы как Manic Street Preachers.

I'm trying to save my marriage and I had to cancel my trip from seeing BSB which tears me apart! :( I even had my flight for it and I so thought I had insurance on it and I didn't which ticks me off cuz I could of used it for Chicago in Nov, so now I'm out of 180.00 AGAIN!

All I can say right now is that I hate girls, seriously! One of Andrew's friends like in his 40's or so and he has a daughter whose 19. Well I guess she's had a huge crush on him for the longest time to where she's actually relived him before, this was before him and I were even together but anyways after she knew we were in our fighting, maybe separating stage and whatnot she had the nerve to flirt like she usually does and whatnot and asks him to be his girlfriend!!!! WTF is that shit?!

God, it ticks me off, there’s so much to say bout this chick it’s crazy and I have to be nice to her if I want to stay w/ him cuz he thinks I hate everyone which I tech do who comes into our relationship and tries to ruin it!

OMG, a voodoo practitioner has popped up in my baseball fic!!! Why can't my fic just go where I tell it to???

My fic just doesn't need any more shit in it. I've got a crazy old lady who believes in ghosts, a beer-swilling pot-smoking redneck who appears to be homophobic on the surface, but really isn't, I've got a Geechee spiritualist, an Evangelical church that goes by the name of The One Way Church of True Salvation, I've got a creepy guy who likes to deal out pain, various baseball players, the two main characters, the half-Arab half-Irish boyfriend of one of them, and a haunted bar that has been investigated by Ghosthunters. There's more, but I can't remember the rest.

Did I need a voodoo guy added to that list???

This thing is totally out of control, word count up to +24K. The voodoo guy was a person that I barely mentioned, and was meant to be a bit of filler. Now he's suddenly got all this other stuff going on. The bad thing about it is that it would really help out with a plot point, so I can't ignore him.

Свидетелями происшествия стали около пятидесяти человек. Некоторые из них (вокалист Foals Яннис Филиппакис и Рики Уилсон из Kaiser Chiefs) пытались заступиться за Окереке, но безуспешно.

Сам же Джонни Роттен утверждает, что драка была спровоцирована фронтменом Bloc Party с целью пиара своей группы, а его обвинения в расизме не имеют под собой никаких оснований.
