Title: Crisis
Author: nonce_legomenon
Rating: R for violence
Length: About 3500 words
Warnings: Nothing explicit, but there is implied violence that is as graphic as your mind wants to make it. Also, in lieu of a normal summary, I have hidden an explanation as to what's going on in this story on the next line. I highly, highly suggest you read the fic before you check with the summary, since it'll just ruin the ending for you.

When Sephiroth was seventeen, his mother brought home a man she'd met, Hojo. This was their second date and should have been a nice, family-type dinner but instead the evening ended with Jenova and her son chained to her bed. Hojo then proceeded to spend two days performing various "experiments" on Jenova, demonstrating how, while he was indeed a doctor as he'd claimed, he was quite insane and homicidal. By the end of the second day she was barely alive but still begging him to stop as he vivisected her, ending with him decapitating her, slowly, with a scalpel. While Sephiroth was rescued and Hojo was apprehended, the trauma of being forced to experience his mother's murder caused Sephiroth to develop Multiple Personality Disorder to try to cope. His fundamental personality was hidden away and he presented himself as one of three brothers: Kadaj for anger and aggression, Yazoo for intelligence and depression, and Loz for possessive grief. Sephiroth is completely unaware of this happening, and does not know the brothers exist; his own mind has been sleeping since the brothers exhibited themselves.

Mother will make everything better! )

Length: 1134, but it reads quick, really!
Warnings: None, except swearing. :D
Comment: Uh... This story is kinda funny. And when I say funny, I mean odd-sounding. Because I think Kadaj is too babyish. Bleh. But it has good morals of brotherhood! :D

Functional explanation: The joint fault of [info]karanguni and [info]ellnyx. The earlier arc can be found here!

( Even though he now works under the Shinra corporate name, Balthier still doesn't sit in on boardroom meetings so much as he drops by every once in a while, a presence at the far end of the table with his legs or arms crossed, watching, sleeping, breathing. )

The Business of Fear

Fandom: Final Fantasy VII (OGC)/Highlander (/Baccano!)
Characters: Rufus, Methos; cameos by Tseng and Luck
Rating: Soft R
Summary: Rufus needs men who are know something of the business of fear.

Title: New Suit
Fandom: FFVII
Characters: Reno, Tseng, Rufus, Elena, Vincent, Lucrecia, Rude, Hojo
Genre: Crack
Rating: Maybe a K+ for some swear words?
Length: ~1,500 words
Summary: Tseng is sick of Reno showing up to work looking like he was dragged there by a street sweeper. Originally inspired by a comic which I have worked hard to find again, yet I haven't come up with it... I'd really love to credit the artist for inspiring this story, and I'm sure if you've seen it you'll know which one I'm talking about once you've read this. Any help tracking it down is appreciated.
WARNING: I posses a mastered timeline annihilation materia. Read: I'm aware that Vincent wasn't a Turk anymore at the point Reno became one and that Lucrecia was [spoiler] at that point, but for the sake of forcing them to interact under these circumstances, I'm ignoring all that.

"The clock’s ticking, Tseng. One Turk without a job. Two Turks without a job. Three Turks--"
