I don't hack my game very much at all, other than just using ACToolkit to restore my town's grass. I got a message in my Wii from Nintendo informing me of the System Update 4.1 and it said, "Because unauthorized modifications to save files may impair game play or the Wii console, updating to Wii Menu version 4.1 will also check for and automatically remove such save files." I googled the update along with Animal Crossing and, I haven't come across much, but I did come across a Nintendolife thread http://www.nintendolife.com/forums/w
I walked into the Able Sisters' today and there was a Dimentio Mask for sale in there. :| There was a post here that somebody else had written not too long ago asking why their neighbor had given them the Dimentio Mask as a reward for doing an errand or something. What in the world is this? D: I didn't have any data on the Dimentio Mask until I saw it in the store today. Is it circulating around like a normal item or is it really just because someone else I've played with had the data on it?
Thanks in advance for your help :>

The lovely folks in Japan have another DLC. It's a flower pot with little blue flowers. It's named Asagoa or Morning Glory in English.
ETA - It ships out between July 20th and August 13th 2009.

Hinted on Nintendo's North American Animal Crossing website: "The next scheduled delivery celebrates one small step!"
ACCF Wikispaces suggests it might be a reference to the Apollo 11 moon landing on July 20th, 1969 and Neil Armstrong's famous quote: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind".
So, what are your guesses: Pattern? Item? Footprint? US flag?
Hello,
Unfortunately, there was a problem with the Ladder Shades letter which prevented it from being distributed to Animal Crossing: City Folk players. We apologize for any frustration this matter may have caused you.
Please note that the next special item will start going out on Saturday, July 4th. We’re currently evaluating our release schedule to see if we’ll have another opportunity to offer the Ladder Shades sometime in the future. I’ll be sure to pass along your interest in this item on to the appropriate department for further review. In the meantime, keep an eye on our Animal Crossing website (www.animal-crossing.com) for any updated information as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
R.M. Ricketts

You lucky Europeans got a sandcastle between June 21st and July 3rd!
Those of us on the Western side of the Atlantic should be receiving a hot dog hat starting on the 4th of July.
Has anyone received the June 23rd to 30th DLC, ladder shades? From what I understand, this one for whatever reason wasn't distributed. Unfortunately the time is over for this distribution window. Perhaps it will be re-distributed at some point later?

Does anyone have a strategy on how to catch bugs that bite?
June brought to Mirage a bunch of new bugs to catch. Being primarily used to the GameCube version of Animal Crossing, it seems like bugs are so much more difficult to catch in City Folk. Aside from the white and yellow butterflies, nearly every other bug is out only extremely rarely, and unless you tip-toe through town you risk spooking away the bug before you can even see it on the tree. Is this unique to Mirage, or has anyone else noticed the increased difficulty in catching bugs?
Also, I have a theory that walking on dry ground (i.e. not-grass) scares away the bugs from a far greater distance than when you walk on grass. Kind of like the bugs can hear you coming from your footfalls. If this is the case, then this is another detriment to the grass-wearing-down mechanic in City Folk. What do you think?
And one more thing - has anyone seen a Longhorn Beetle in June? According to the guide they are out, but they have not been spotted in Mirage yet!
My oldest got his carnations.
My two younger kids did not.
We all received the pink carnations on Mother's Day and were hoping to hybridize.
Now -- I have two irritated children and no clue as to what's going on.
Does anyone know if this if this normal or is it a glitch?
Thanks to
zombiejanedoe for letting us all know about the June DLC for North America - a Mayor pattern from Wendell. I haven't found the distribution dates for this item yet, so load up your town each day and see when yours arrives!
(I also can't find any pictures of this item, so if anyone can share a screenshot, it would be much appreciated!)

A frog in my town requested I find her something "fashion forward". I tried getting her a shirt from the current GracieGrace collection, and it didn't work. So I tried to order her in a Future shirt, and that didn't work. Then I tried random stuff and it didn't work.
What is "Fashion Forward" that I can give her?
(I don't get why Resetti throws such a spaz if resetting doesn't even RESET you to where you were at your last save! Argh.)
Anyway, if anyone has hybrid or gold flowers for sale, I'll pay anything you want for them. I just want my beautiful town back!
The next DLC up for Japan is a Paper Doll umbrella.

The design is based off a traditional Japanese doll called the "Teru teru bōzu" (てるてる坊主). This doll is hung outside and is used to wish for sunny weather.
![]()
There is a nursery rhyme associated with the てるてる坊主:
てるてるぼうず、てるぼうず
明日天気にしておくれ
いつかの夢の空のように
晴れたら金の鈴あげよ
てるてるぼうず、てるぼうず
明日天気にしておくれ
私の願いを聞いたなら
甘いお酒をたんと飲ましょ
てるてるぼうず、てるぼうず
明日天気にしておくれ
もしも曇って泣いてたら
そなたの首をちょんと切るぞ
Translation:
Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
Like the sky in a dream sometime
If it's sunny I'll give you a golden bell
Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
If you make my wish come true
We'll drink lots of sweet rice wine
Teru-teru-bozu, teru bozu
Do make tomorrow a sunny day
But if it's cloudy and you are crying (i.e. it's raining)
Then I shall snip your head off
It will be distributed in Japan from the 15th of June to 5th of July, 2009.
When I pull it up, will I have a nice dirt path or will the grass still look new?
I'd thought about pulling up most of mine when/if I get the gold can...but not if it's going to look bad. Anyone have any experience with this?
