Been away for a while...
I haven't had a chance to go through the archive, so I apologize if this has already been discussed.

Anyone try Lucid yet?

I have. It's alright - not quite as much flavor of anise as I would like. The bottle is quite beautiful, though!

did you buy it locally or mail? Been looking for the best rates via post/courier in the US (from a US distributor).

The liquor store on Palmer Park and Academy has it, hon. We have a bottle.

Havn't opened it yet, but I'll come back and post my thoughts when we do.

Haven't tried Kubler yet. I live in the Los Angeles area, so getting ahold of strange shit is fairly easy for me :). I recommend the Woodland Hills Wine Company - if you Google them, there they are. I managed to get a bottle of Lucid the day it hit the West Coast because those guys are on the effing ball!

I get my Lucid and Kübler from drinkupny dot com. The prices are reasonable and anything over $50 has free shipping.

Living in Oregon I suspect I wont be able to buy locally for a while.

It's good absinthe. Maybe not great absinthe, but very drinkable. The price varies considerably based on where you buy it. Drinkupny is a good choice, but check your local stores first.

Yes, I've had it. It's $62.99 in Boston.

I don't have much to compare it to, but we enjoyed it. Well, I did anyway. My friends like to call it "French battery acid," because we drank far too much of it one night and made ourselves sick.

Anyway, it has a pleasant flavor (enough anise for me), a natural chartreuse color and louches fairly well.
