In the beginning, there was darkness…and the darkness was good. It was great, in fact. So great, that it inspired fanfic writers from far and wide to cuddle it and pet it and write stories in which it could shine. And sometimes, it shines so darkly that it needs to be publicly recognized. That’s where we come in. Who are we? We are The Absence of Light Awards – a site specifically created to celebrate the BtVS and A:tS fic that makes you cry, or shudder, or just sit staring sadly into your coffee for hours once you’ve finished reading it. So bring us angst and tears, terror and tragedy. We honour them and the folks who write about them.
