Here are a few more pics for you.. there are some that were in the last crop, but I'm now uploading in order so that it takes less time to sort which are already online. I'll upload the next 10 and so on at a later date.

The screening in Cardiff was a success inasmuch as: it was received well by the two audiences; but it was a screening for cast, crew, families, friends & Investors so no pickup news to tell from the day!!! Some of my online 'family' were there.. and kls010 has written a lovely review of the day (nice to have someone with an objective view write something about the film.. you must all be fed up with my biased ramblings about 'Abe'!! lol!!)
There will be another screening in London at the end of the month... hopefully some distributors will accept the invitations to attend and ..maybe??!!
Time to cross those fingers again!!... :~)

Abraham's Point: didn't disappoint

Yesterday 6 of us from the Darcylicious forum were incredibly lucky to be able to watch a screening of Abraham's Point in Cardiff. We all agreed that it certainly didn't disappoint.

It is a poignant, funny yet complex film with intriguing characters who all seem to have have dark or sad pasts, yet it isnt at all depressing. This is helped by the gorgeous cinematography and often uplifting music.

Joseph of course was brilliant as the reckless Adam, a mischievous type who lives for the moment and we are never sure if he is helping Comet or mostly helping himself.

The film reminded me a lot of Kristian Levring's The Intended and Brad McGann's In My Father's Den, but not as dark as either.

We all agreed that we wanted to know each character better and it is one of those films that probably needs to be watched more than once to appreciate all the nuances.

Toronto now have the list for most categories and the debut category, 'Discovery', which seemed like the most obvious for entry doesn't include 'Abraham's Point' so there we have it... no trip to tiff for me!!!! We just hope that the trejectory of the film is going to move on to something... :(

Joseph at Stafford... sublime performance!

I had the most wonderful weekend... still haven't come down from the 'high' of seeing Joseph in Stafford castle playing 'Hamlet', in which he was absolutely wonderful!! This man is going places.. big time!!! and I'm so glad that his first big movie role is in 'Abraham's Point'... this will be the first of many major roles for him I am sure!!
But back to the Danish Prince; his performance was by far the best I've seen live, or on screen; his ability to switch emotions on stage was masterful and his performance was by far the most physical I've ever seen: I'm looking forward to seeing much more of him in the future!!
He was very kind when I met him with Wyn after the performance; he signed my 'Shakespeare' book... and I shall hope to add his signature to many more items in the future. I'm so daft though.. too awe-struck and 'high' to remember to get a photograph with him :(

This live music venue (where scenes from Abraham's Point was shot) - a gothic-style ex-church built in 1900 - is under threat of closure due to impending court action by the Council over complaints about noise from some of their new neighbours.

The Point has been operating as a live music venue since 2003. So if you would like to help keep The Point alive, please go to www.keepthepointalive.com and sign the online petition.

Today we were at the pre screening of the new McKenzie Crook film "Abraham's Point", its ACE!

New tracks with US Producer Bob Marlette

Hi, thought we'd keep in touch, keep you posted an all that...

Top American producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbeth, Hoobastank, Ozzy Osborne, Saliva, Evanescence the list goes on...) flew over from ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />L.A. (no that's not Lower Aberdare!) to work with us, not a full album as yet, but to get things moving. We got 4 FANTASTIC tracks done that sound HUGE, and at this stage they are still only demos! You can hear the tracks online shortly, but we will be playing them at live gigs soon also. Listen out for the tracks "Former Mining Town", "Even After All", "Surrender" and an as yet untitled tune.. gonna be good good good!

Wyn and the post production team have worked tirelessly over the weekend and into the early hours of tuesday to iron out the hiccups; then a rush to London for Wyn to get it to various people to enter Locarno and TIFF... just hope it's accepted for one of the film festivals!!!

The film was wonderful; more impressed with Mackenzie & Joseph than ever!! A few problems to be sorted by monday then hopefully it will make the deadline for tiff!!

I went to Stratford today with my family, and susannahc with her family, to see A Midsummer Night's Dream by the RSC. I recognised one of the actresses on stage but for the life of me couldnt figure out where from. At the end I was looking through the programme and realised it was Maria Gale, and I had recognised her from the Abe trailer...!!!

She was very good as one of the fairies and the whole production was brilliant. It still doesnt beat Joseph Millson in the RSC's Much Ado but after seeing goodness knows how many theatre productions since, I figure now that nothing probably will. Even my eldest daughter still talks about that show. But back to AMSND...great show to see. Very funny indeed and by far the best version of it that I have watched on TV, Film and Stage.

CANNES -- Just over 40 movies have been handpicked to showcase at this year's London U.K. Film Focus (LUFF), set to run June 30 through July 3.

David Rocksavage's "Shadows in the Sun," produced by Nick O'Hagan and starring Jean Simmons and James Wilby is among the titles selected.

Many of the titles are being sold here during the Marche du Film.

Other titles include MovieHouse Entertainment's thriller "Abrahams Point," directed by Wyndham Price and starring Mackenzie Crook and Harriet Walter and a brace of Jinga Films titles: Tom Tyrwhitt"s thriller "Hush Your Mouth" and Danny Hiller's crime drama "Love Me Still."

There's an article in saturday 26/4/08 (south wales) Western Mail with Russell Brand & Mackenzie Crook but it's not online, yet, anyone who has it & has a scanner please upload!!
It's very similar to the interview in 'Film Weekly' but Mackenzie mentions 'Abraham's Point' and a little about the script. I'll add it if it becomes available online.
