I got more sleep than I thought I would, but didn't get to sleep until about six. Woke up for good at eleven-thirty, and I'm very glad I canceled work for today. Got back my deposit from the old place, and though most of it is going to D to repay this month's rent here, the sixty-or-so difference makes me able to wait until next week, as the only bill I'm waiting on is my credit card.
And on top of this, a box of awesome, courtesy of

And was told by the lady there that she'd been calling because they'd had a processing position, but that it had since been filled.
As in, if they had bothered to update my phone number to the one I actually use instead of my cell phone, when they'd updated my address, I would have a job now. But since they didn't, I don't.
If I hadn't used up all the distilled fuck you on my ex-coworkers yesterday, I'd be sending some in the direction of the staffing place, but I haven't got any left so now it's somewhere between bitter amusement and 'yeah, story of my life.'
Today, though, I am trawling the cultural alliance and museum sites, and I think I have found the absolute most perfect job for me ever, which of course means it's a) already filled, b) got a hundred more qualified applicants already so no way in hell will I get an interview, or c) pays about $8/hr. I have no way of knowing any of those things, but it is still listed on the site of the museum where the job is located, as opposed to the cultural alliance site (which I don't think takes old listings down as they are filled), so I can take my chances on b and c.
Seriously, though. The only thing that could be better would be if there were a job that paid well to sit around the apartment, watch TV, occasionally make things, RP online, roll around on the floor and fragment language.
Want.
Next couple hours, I'll be doing rewrites and tweaks to my resume and cover letter (I cut things out to get the resume down to one page, but for one job I need to cut some more out to put my internship back on) and sending those out to the museumy sites. Over the weekend, it'll be craigslistcraigslistcraigslist, rapid-fire, because those don't generally take cover letters, so no rewriting.
I should pick some music.

But last night I forgot my Huge pot of chicken, shitake mushroom, and spinach soup. This soup was Awesome! It's what I did with all the leftovers of chicken broth and meat for Toby. I think I posted that I was going to use the breasts of that chicken for something for me. Anywhoo, that recipe I experimented with turned out Fantastic! And now I'm gonna have to throw it out.
Ah well, the broth turned out to be so rich because of the sweet potatoes cooked in it, that I have a TON of broth leftover. And I have a half a bag of spinach left. And I can get more mushrooms. I don't want to buy any more chicken and the actual chicken meat didn't do much for the soup, so I guess I'll leave that out. I may add in some navy beans for the protien. I even still have some ginger left. So I got lucky this time because I was wondering what the hell I was going to do with the rest of the chicken broth since I ran out of mason jars to freeze it in and had to put the remainder in a big pot in the fridge. A blessing in disguise? I dunno, but I'm still irritated that I'm going to have to waste this Huge stock pot of soup.

I'm getting an allergy test done next week hopefully. That goddamn rash/acne stuff is back on my face. It burns and itches, which leads me to believe it is an allergy. Mom said I used to be allergic to some things (camels!) and of course I have eczema, which ups your risk for allergies. In a way, I am hoping I do have one so I can fix the problem before it gets worse. I keep trying to rack my brain, thinking of what it COULD be... so far I've got milk, coffee, some sort of nut, cat fir, or something in our shampoo or conditioner... I don't wear lotion on my face, not very often anyway, and don't wear makeup very often either. I may have to go on antibiotics if they can't find anything out that way.. meh

+ Apparently the town I will be living in has one of those tiny airports that are used by the discount inter-European airlines (although I think some of them also fly to North Africa). Flights to Spain? Under $30 EU (yes, I know there is a large tax that is more than twice the price--but still--totally doable!)
+ abandoned castles in the future! Also already have made contact with Nether-landish urbexers, am dreaming of Belgian abandonments, right across the border...
+ it's spring
- My mucous tissue is engaged in terrible warfare with pollen particles. Must find local honey.
+ words I suspect Fionn of possibly having said in the last few days: banana, Nica, good.
- he says them sneakily, and won't be cajoled into repeating them.
+ maybe-probably NYC next weekend...a day or two of golden sticky spring air in my favorite city in the world. will I catch a whiff of unselfish violets, out of nowhere?
- where did I put Fionn's passport photos? They were hanging out at the plant ICU on the kitchen table, and today, as we were preparing to embark on a trip to the post office, to lay claim to Fionn's bios, they were mysteriously nowhere to be found.

I also found up my old blanket... and I mean old! I would have liked it to be a tabby weave but it is twill which is still fine I guess... what is neat about it is that it was woven on a smaller loom and the two blankets had to be sewn together to make one for a typical twin size bed and on top of this, it has been darned like mad! (moths ya know!) and I can see a few holes and bits where it could use a little more help.
Like a worn out teddy bear, this is my favorite blanket, not bad for a simple undyed blanket that has been to nowhere-nice and back.
Now for a pillow... still wish I had that big bag of goose down (I used to keep geese) :S
need more reading anyhow
