Bard College? Heh I go to Marist - fantastic picture. Anything good over there? Marist has old CW (Morse code) lines along the RR tracks and the Po-Town water Purification plant... that's about it.

Awesome. I almost went to Bard, but ended up going to Ithaca instead.

What a beautiful place for a swimming pool, right by the waterfall. Makes me wish the swimming pool weren't abandoned.

Wow, thanks for all the comments (I've almost forgotten how lively this community this is --it's been awhile since I posted). The pool is adjacent to a wonderful woodsy rushing stream and falls. I had to straddle a sapling on the side of the ravine to get shots. It's badly littered with spray paint cans everywhere. I seem to remember a few years ago trees were growing out of the pool itself but none this visit...

That's so kickass! Why would anyone abandon a great pool in such an awesome location? (though it usually comes down to a few suspects, like "money" or "there was something seriously wrong with it" which usually goes back to "money").

I love the contrast. :) In the old pic where they are sitting it looks like it's concrete, but in the newer pic (but older pool, lol), there is no concrete. I see dirt. Did that fall off or was it broken up around it on purpose? Thanks.

Wow! That place is beautiful. And the contrast is just awesome, though sad at the same time. Random, but this reminded me a lot of the movie My Winnipeg, for some reason. Great photo :)
