I never knew anything about the "DaVinci Mirroring" of the new BSG cast photo until seeing your post.
It's an interesting concept, but I definitely think too much is being read into it.
(Personally, I'm just happy that there's a new cast photo to drool/swoon over!) ;-P

Well, it's just that if you read Ron's comments from EW, it sounds like he's specifically talking about the picture and the various positions each character is in.

Like I said, though, it could easily be another case of Ron driving us crazy in spec-land. ;)

My guess is they showed the pic to Ron and then he came up with comments that could mesh with his plans for season 4. I'm glad I followed my hunch that this was the photographer's idea and didn't spend much time thinking about it.

I know. I feel sorry for all the people that spent hours analysing and debating what the mirrored image means.

Aaron said that the photo was staged to a point but no where near what people are reading into with this whole mirroring thing.

And by "staged" I think he's probably talking along the lines of them telling Tricia to hold her hands like that. Or someone being told to look in a certain direction. Or them telling Aaron to hold the knife.

There's definitely hints in the things that Ron said in that article. I just wouldn't read too much into the mirrored photo.

You're welcome. I was just saying over on the Yahoo! Group that it was driving me nuts because people were analysing the photo and saying that the Chief holding the knife meant he was going to kill/hurt Cally or baby Nicholas or all the babies on the fleet. And then the whole mirroring thing started up and supposedly the photo now means that the Chief is after Baltar or Lee. So I had to ask Aaron about it.

People get so much attention when they have a knife in their hand. Good pose by him too. The writer of the article seems to insert a lot of their own comments in to add to the confusion. It would have been great to be there during the shooting, that picture is brilliant.

I thought the whole mirroring thing went a little over the top, but you gotta applaud those people for their ingenuity. Maybe they should be hired to write for the show!

If you do speak Aaron again, could you ask him about the books.

They seem to have square corners, not the usual Colonial type of corners. Does that indicate they have reached Earth already?

Do you think he is allowed to answer that? Or would he need to deflect?

I'm not sure how he's going to be able to answer that. If they have reached Earth in the episodes they have filmed, I'm sure he's not allowed to say as that would be a huge spoiler.

Swear to God, I'm not trying to start anything here.

But...as nice as it is to have a substantial answer to the question everyone's been asking, why should I believe that you personally asked Aaron Douglas this? I don't know you - don't believe I've ever conversed with you - so this is only why I ask. I'm not accusing you of lying whatsoever, since, again, I don't know you.

And also, if there are no 'hidden meanings' in the picture, why would RDM give us hints about certain things that are actually taking place in the picture? He answers the editor's question giving us some of those clues towards season four, himself. Maybe mirroring the picture isn't the crack, but there are obviously things happening in the picture for a reason. I doubt they'd have Natalie pointing at someone accusingly just for the heck of it, or a goblet sitting on the table because it looks pretty. You know?

Plus, even if Aaron didn't know anything about hidden meanings within the picture, that wouldn't be anything new. The final four Cylons that have been revealed didn't know they were Cylons until weeks before the filming.

BUT I'm going to take your word for it, and it really doesn't change anything for me, because it's so fun finding new things in the picture and studying it closely since, whether mirrored or not, the picture does contain hints for season four. It's all in fun, you know? I'm sure I can speak for everyone and say that the analyzing of the picture was in good nature. :]

I don't really care if you believe me or not that I am friends with Aaron and spoke to him about this.

If you had done a couple of minutes of homework and looked back through some of these posts you would know that I speak with him.

I NEVER said people should stop having fun reading things into the photo or the mirrored photo. I personally thought Roslin in Adama's lap was adorable. Some people emailed me to ask me to ask Aaron if there was anything to this mirroring thing and I was curious as well. So I asked him and posted his reply. Simple as that.
