This community is for fans and friends of the show "America's Test Kitchen," on PBS; and its companion magazines, Cook's Illustrated and Cooks Country. Here's where you can talk about the latest recipe, declare your love for Bridget, Julia, or Chris, or lust after all that great equipment they've got in their kitchen.

It's also a great place to talk about food and cooking in a friendly and supportive environment: Why didn't this recipe work? Do I really need shallots instead of onions? Just exactly which sort of wine do you suppose they mean by "dry white wine?"

Don't worry - nobody will tell you that the way that they did it on America's Test Kitchen is the only way it can be (but they might point out that why they did do it that way on ATK is for a good reason.)

This community is not a place to talk about any of the following:

Rachael Ray, Emeril, Bobby Flay, or any other Food Network chef. Oh, okay. We know they'll come up from time to time, and that's okay, but there's plenty of other places to talk about how much we hate them, huh? And speaking of Food Network folks, about Alton Brown. Yes, we love him too and we understand that there is a lot of overlap between fans of Good Eats and ATK. But there are already a number of communites,

good_eats and

we_love_alton to name two of them, that are devoted to this subject. Take your Alton discussions there.
