I have a few songs I'm thinking of throwing into the accidental pollinator hat. Once again, they were not written for accidental pollinator so they don't sound, exactly right, or even vaguely right. But who cares. I don't want them to just disappear into nothingness. Or maybe I do, I don't know, I liked them a bunch when I wrote them, but now I just feel oddly confused by them. Let me know if you like, or hate them passionately. ANd by "let me know" I mean, hey, people who are in the band "let me know." I apreciate all comments, but I'm not going to even bother working on them period if no one else in the band gives two shits, which is fine, but I need to know. Well, I don't need to know, but I guess I'd prefer to know.

“The Moment”

I had a moment to kill
and I figured what a thrill
it’d be to stand in one place
for a time
a long time
and look at the sky
with squinted and un-squinted eyes.
At flickering lights,
until I reassured myself
that this really is pointless.

You should try it some time,
pantomime.
Make a wish, blow a kiss
fall on your knees and watch night and day
pour into the seas and fade away
and it’s all okay.

It’s heavy on your shoulders and mine too
but that’s the price you pay to think like we do.
In the end you’ll be grateful, but for now
Just do your best to keep your eyes open
tear into your chest to keep your heart hopin’
that you’ll see.

You should try it some time,
pantomime.
Make a wish, blow a kiss
fall on your knees and watch night and day
pour into the seas and light the way
and it’s all okay.

Don’t think right at it.
When you see it.
It may hurt you
but you will believe it.
Just nod on by.
Don’t become it.
Just nod and nod and nod and nod and nod...

And it’s all okay, it’s all okay, it’s all okay, it’s all okay, to watch night and day pour into the seas and fade away.
Not about what you think it is either, I'm not THAT predictable.

“Sunshine”
Blossoming warmth, drips down my arms.
The rays shower over monster farms.
Monsters can be friends too, and monsters can be loved.
Monsters just like you and me, depend on the sun above.

I want to see the sun, I want to climb the stars
I want to see the sun, I want to climb the stars
I want to be the sun, I want to be a star.

The night is blanker then it looks.
Sunshine is the only thing that makes it bright.
Joy is something that only exists in books
one day we’ll all be made of sunlight.

I want to see the sun, I want to climb the stars
I want to see the sun, I want to climb the stars
I want to be the sun, I want to be a star.

One day I’ll see it. I’ll be it.
Climbing the ironic staircase
Dreaming of being in outer space.

Outer space may be dark
but inner space is darker.
No light, no air, no love, no care.
I need the sun there more then anywhere.

I want to see the sun, I want to climb the stars
I want to see the sun, I want to climb the stars
I want to see the sun, I want to climb the stars
I want to be the sun, I want to be a star.
I want to free the sun, I want to be that star.

I have no idea what the fuck is going on there.

“Chocolate”
Taking baby steps home.
Fixing what should be set in stone.
Memorial to absence, to a death we can’t accept.
Peaceful soldiers, whose tears will be forever wept.

Where are you?
Where are you?
You can hurt me to help you,
you can hurt me to save you.

Taking baby steps home.
I see the same image over and over again.
I take a breather and absorb the sound.
I clear the air and push on the ground
just a little more today, just a little more then yesterday.

Where are you?
Where are you?
Why did you leave me, what did I do?
Will you greave me? Will you miss me too?
You can hurt me to help you.
You can hurt me to save you.

I don’t want to go home anymore.
Wasting away.
I want to freeze to the trees, and die with the bees.
I want the snow to layer over me
and make a blanket to cover me,
and if you find me, we can sleep together,
in our bed together,
one more time, forever.
It will be so warm with you.

Where are you?
Where are you?
Will you find me now? Now that I know what to do?
Will you search for me? Will you hurt for me?
You can hurt me to help you.
You can hurt me to save you
I guess this song is sweet, but it also feels a little cheesy at this point. MAybe ALOT cheesy. I dunno.I find myself hating all of these.

I came up with the coolest AP propaganda idea. You can get magnets the size of business cards that have a stickum side for the business card. So you make some AP business card, stick it to the magnet, and then epoxy it somehow so water won't destroy it. Then you walk around town and stick the magnets on cars, doors, light poles, or anything else that's metal and will be sort of visible. Then people will see them and have interest in AP! How utterly genius? I love it! You should too! ;)

Well I am pleased to say that I have finished writing the music to "Ice Summer" andI dare say, it is quite enjoyable. Very bouncy, very catchy, very blippy, makes you do a silly dance while you listen to it. I haven't written the melody for the vox yet, but I have a hunch it will be effortless. I may need to expand the lyrics a bit. The chorus may not be long enough. Same w/the bridge.

In other news, I'm writing a genuine techno piece. I plan to make it more synth-pop oriented (I was only writing techno for fun, and becasue it felt wrong to own two synthesizers and have not written a techno song). I don't feel like writing lyrics for it, or coming up w/ideas.

CHALLENGE: So if anyone has suggestions (maybe other band members?) let me know. Nothing too wordy here, something simple that can be drawn out. i.e. the word "love" would be sung like "loooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeee." Or not, whatever. anyone/everyone is encouraged to contribute.

x-posted to bellydancindan

I thought that would go alot better. MAybe I should have put more then five minutes effort into it...nah... Well, This song is about something verrrrry specific, non-existant daniel points to whoever can tell me what it is first.

okaaay. I wrote this song a while ago (lyrics anyway) as a starboy song, but I've decided it didn't work, I know it's not exactly a very AP type song, at all, but I really don't have anything else to do with it. Do you guys want to try to use it? It's kinna cool..I guess...The only part of it that actually makes sense (i.e. I know what it means and why I wrote it) is the first verse. Which is kinna AP cuz it's a science thing 9ask me if you're actually curious). So, yeah, lemme know.

“Bats Between Her Eyes”

You’ve got x’s for eyes
cuz you’re a little sister
hydrogen is coming out of your mouth
leaving little blisters

There’s bats between your eyes
and there’s rats crawling up the sides
of the walls.
There’s bats roosting in your ears
and the bats are drinking up your little tears
and I won’t be coming around anymore.

You live in a world
where you’re a make believe girl
you live in a world made of turtle dreams.
You live in a world
where you’re a make believe angel
Cuz you’re not real anymore.

There’s bats between your eyes
and there’s rats crawling up the sides
of the walls.
There’s bats roosting in your ears
and the bats are drinking up your little tears
and I won’t be coming around anymore.

Riding your horse at night was the only solace you found
black cloud puffing through the dead calm.
But now your horse is dead and withered away.
Doesn’t matter, the horse didn’t love you anyway.
Now you’re dead and withered away,
and it doesn’t matter, you didn’t love me anyway.

Freaky... We have a random fan. Or at least a random member: sluzzslaz.
Anyway in the aftermath of quirkyguy18's awesome interview I collected some of the questions that were cut so you can get to know the slightly less interesting side of us.

Whose bright idea was Accidental Pollinator?
Alex: Hmm…I think it was sort of a collective idea. For the most part it was a joke, then we started actually doing it.
Boss: Everyone but me, I think.

What is the science behind the name?
Cindy: An accidental pollinator is a creature that, while going about its business, happens to pollinate. A bee doesn’t set out saying “I think I’m going to help these flowers procreate!” no, he’s just interested in getting food, the pollination is an accident.

Musical influences?
Alex: Freezepop, The Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, ThouShaltNot, and The Postal Service.
Boss: Rush, Pink Floyd, Freezepop, ThouShaltNot, Kurt Harland, Symbion Project…
Cindy: Freezepop, ThouShaltNot, Lifestyle, Cosmicity, Spice Girls, Common Rotation, and Dir en Grey.

Non-musical influence?
Alex: Sigourney Weaver!
Boss: The Boss.

What did you just eat?
Alex: Kix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Boss: Macados Club.
Cindy: Taco Bell.

Red or Blue?
Alex: Blue.
Boss: Blue.
Cindy: Red. Red all the way.

What is the difference between an unhappy capitalist and an ecstatic communist?
Boss: Attitude. And political affiliation. And their name. And probably everything else.
Cindy: The unhappy capitalist is being abused by the system, an ecstatic communist is abusing the system.

Is it true that you’re going to have a ghetto white little girl dance in all your videos?
Alex: Our lawyer has advised us that pending out trial in domestic court we shouldn’t speak about it.

How would you respond to people who say that synthpop isn’t music?
Alex: My general consensus is that music is more simple then most people think. People just don’t realize it with rock and roll or R&B. Synth-pop is just as much real music as anything else, just on different instruments. Not everything has to be a concerto to be real music.
Cindy: I bet you listen to rap and bad techno.

How would you respond to people who say that you don’t exist?
Cindy: Wink.

If Purusha is the originally sacrificed cosmic being that gave life to everything, why isn’t he the big shit? What did Brahman, Vishnu and Shiva do to become all high and mighty?
Alex: They’re names are a lot cooler. Also, it’s all technically conceptual to help us understand God better.
Boss: Their names are easier to pronounce.
Cindy: They’re Hindu.

Is it safe to say that Accidental Pollinator is just a bunch of modern day heathens?
Cindy: Religion is pointless when you realize that machines will soon rule us all.

Would you count this as a waste of time?
Alex: Erm…sortive…
Boss: Not a big waste.
Cindy: It was this or World of Warcraft.

Favorite curse word?
Alex: Fuck.
Boss: God dammit.
Cindy: ShitFuckGoddammitAllToHell.

Favorite sound?
Alex: The little Konami sound at the start of MGS1.
Boss: Kain’s laugh in Defiance when he impales someone.
Cindy: Maou.

Favorite smell?
Alex: The smell of spring.
Cindy: Vanilla.

What job would you not want to do?
Alex: Phone work. Or working at Kroger.
Boss: Artist.
Cindy: Cook. Especially short-order.

What was the last song you listened to?
Alexx: Blank Page – The Smashing Pumpkins.
Boss: Thou Shalt Not – Embrace the Sun.
Cindy: Dr Awesome – Bioform.

Best lyric you ever heard?
Alex: Take a day, plant some trees. May they shade you from me. May your children play beneath.
Boss: Fucking alarm clock/Start the day in fear.
Cindy: Good writers borrow and great writers steal.

Worst lyric you ever heard?
Alex: The shit is bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S! (Gwen Stefani)

What wouldn’t you ever eat?
Alex: I don’t think I could eat one of my pets.
Cindy: Raw octopus.

Does god exist?
Boss: I’ll find out when I die. Unless I don’t.

Is there a fundamental question?
Cindy: There has to be, we know the answer.

Full-bodied women or skinny waifs?
Alex: Depends. I’m not that into curves, in either. So I guess waif.
Cindy: I’d rather someone who’s healthy, which usually means the former.

Should men be required to wear buttons that say how well they are endowed?
Alex: I don’t think it would be a bad idea.
Boss: Yeah, why not.
Cindy: Only at bars.

Did we really land on the moon?
Boss: Yes.
Cindy: Yes.

If you’ve just met someone and you tell them that you lead a dull and meaningless existence, and then they tell you they don’t think you do, what does that mean?
Alex: They’re trying to be nice.
Boss: They’re an idiot.
Cindy: They’re stalking you.

Do you trust other people?
Alex: Not usually.
Boss: Generally not.

When a movie flops, is it the actors’ fault, the director’s fault, or the writer’s fault?
Cindy: Depends on which sucked.

Whose fault is it when things go badly for Accidental Pollinator?
Alex: I’m assuming I’ll be blamed, but I doubt it will ever be my fault.
Boss: I would say Alex, but he’s out of the band.
Cindy: Alex.

Blood type?
Alex: O-
Cindy: A+

What do you think is the statement your music makes?
Boss: We’re nerds, but still better than everyone else.
Cindy: Science rules! Or that we’re crazy.

What is the statement your fashion makes?
Alex: I’m not happy to be around you right now.
Cindy: Someone like me should not own blue eyeliner.

What is statement do you regret making?
Cindy: Most every statement I’ve ever made.

Why are iPods evil?
Alex: Because they’re a stupid trend and every one has them just to look rich and cool. Also, I really don’t like digital music machine things. I like CDs.
Boss: Cause idiots like them. But that’s not iPod’s fault.
Cindy: Because I don’t have one.

What kind of underwear do you not wear?
Alex: Thongs.
Cindy: Thongs.

What if you ran into a clone of yourself on the street?
Boss: I would probably quote Metal Gear Solid. No. I would quote Metal Gear Solid.

Who, in fact, is the killer?
Alex: The killer in me is the killer in you.
Boss: I don’t think you ever find out.
Cindy: I haven’t figured it out yet.

Do you believe that there truly does exist a warrior elf princess who is totally gorgeous?
Alex: No. She is totally gorjuss x 3.

Is science for the masses? Or should it be hoarded by academia?
Alex: The masses are too stupid for all science has too offer, but it should be offered anyway.
Cindy: Science is for everyone, problem is people don’t want to take the time to dumb it down enough so it’s not intimidating.

Is an obtuse thirty-two degree angle really inconceivable?
Boss: Depends on who you are and how you look at it.

Three songs you want to cover?
Alex: I don’t want to cover any songs. I know the rest of the band does not feel this way however.
Boss: Information Society – On the Outside, Led Zeppelin – All My Love, Freezepop – Shark Attack.
Cindy: Cosmicity – Regenerate, Darren Hayes – Crush (1980 Me), Abba – Thank You For the Music.

If a certified psychic said you were going to die, what would you do?
Alex: We’re all gonna die.
Cindy: Everyone is going to die. (Max out my credit cards on random things that won’t arrive until after I’m dead)

Do you go in for casual hook-ups?
Alex: No.
Boss: No.
Cindy: Not anymore.

What childhood toy did you hate?
Boss: There was a robot that my Uncle got for me for Christmas that was really noisy and opened up and had a person’s face inside. It terrified me. I feel kina bad about it now.

Would you sell your daughter into slavery? It says it’s okay in the Bible.
Alex: Depends how much I could get for her.
Boss: She’s my property, I don’t need the Bible’s permission.

Does Accidental Pollinator support medical salvation?
Cindy: We can’t take a stand, Boss slept through the class.

Oozing open sores or bleeding between the legs?
Alex: Yes and no.
Boss: Oozing.

Can you respect someone who openly searches for a “sugar daddy”?
Boss: Probably not.
Cindy: No.

Shouldn’t musical artists be able to write their music down?
Alex: I don’t see a point to go through the whole process. It just slows me down.

What other musician/musical group would Accidental Pollinator procreate with in order to have unholy, hell spawn?
Boss: We would try with Freezepop, but it wouldn’t be unholy. I would try with Kurt Harland, but it would fail.
Cindy: I think I’d personally procreate with Mark Nicholas so long as the child magically appears full grown and I’m allowed to destroy it.

Does the band aid cover the bullet hole?
Alex: H/C.
Boss: What were they thinking when they wrote that? Why does she call herself Jessicka?
Cindy: Scarling!

Movie of the Day?
Alex: Jurassic Park.
Boss: Final Fantasy: Advent Children, because I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’ve never seen it.
Cindy: The Secretary.

How many words begin with “dw”?
Alex: Many I’d assume. Maybe not now that I think about it…

Finish this statement: I respect…
Alex: Billy Corgan.
Boss: The Boss.

Finish this statement: I was kidding about…
Cindy: That thing I said in 10th grade.

Do you lie?
Alex: Unfortunately yes.
Boss: No.
Cindy: Only when I have something to hide.

Have you ever just wanted to jam a duck down someone’s throat so they’d shut the fuck up?
Alex: I will now.
Boss: No, I like ducks.
Cindy: Never to shut them up.

Is violence really necessary?
Boss: Yes.

Have I repeated any questions yet?
Alex: Not yet.
Boss: I wasn’t paying attention.
Cindy: Yes.

Describe the affects of death on the world economy.
Boss: It won’t matter soon because robots don’t need money.
Cindy: Death can never do anything to the world at large but help the situation.

Video games will rot your brains.
Boss: Anything can rot your brain. Except video games. And air.

What’s wrong with you?
Alex: What isn’t wrong with me?
Cindy: My hair won’t poof.

Have you ever had a fruvous luncheon date?
Boss: No.
Cindy: Once, he was a frat boy.

Big fish in the small pond or small fish in the big pond?
Alex: Small fish in big pond.
Boss: I hate metaphors.
Cindy: Depends on the pond.

Finish this statement: School vouchers don’t work because…:
Cindy: Republicans think they will.

How long has it been since you thought about aqua-werewolf?
Alex: A very long time actually. Very long.
Boss: Two or three months.
Cindy: Maybe yesterday.

Have you ever felt a teacher undressing you with their eyes?
Boss: No.

What about with their hands?
Alex: No comment.

Last question: What is this “math” you keep using?
Cindy: The ability to subtract years and two digit numbers to calculate age and age-difference.

Can you feel it?
Alex: Oh yeah.
Boss: No.
Cindy: I can.

How do you feel about prodigies, you know, children who are better than you at everything?
Alex: I generally really don’t like them. I won’t try to hide my jealousy.
Boss: I’m fairly jealous of child prodigies.
Cindy: Pain, they deserve pain.

Where will Accidental Pollinator be in 10 years?
Alex: Hopefully stuck in the heads of countless people.
Boss: We’ll be taken over by punk fans and put in refugee camps, struggling just to live and knowing that it doesn’t really matter because of something.
Cindy: Some kid’s birthday party.

Who are sheep?
Alex: Sheep are cute barnyard animals.

Oral or anal?
Alex: Oral.
Boss: Oral.
Cindy: Oral.

Up or down?
Alex: Down.
Boss: Up.
Cindy: Up.

One gram of anti-matter could power the whole eastern seaboard, could you?
Alex: Not yet.

Live to sleep or live to eat?
Alex: Live to eat.
Boss: Live to sleep.
Cindy: Both.

Have you ever been accused of being callous, cold-hearted or cruel?
Alex: Not to my face.
Boss: Yes.
Cindy: Not in the last five minutes.

Are you bleeding on the inside?
Alex: Oh yes.
Boss: Does a bruise count?
Cindy: Nope.

Isn’t life precious?
Cindy: Depends on the life.

Do you know what coitus interruptus is?
Alex: Is that when you’re interrupted during orgasm?
Boss: No. And I don’t care.
Cindy: Yes.

Wasn’t Prince better before he got religion?
Alex: Apples and Oranges. Besides, prince always had religion, just later, he started going crazy with religion…crazy…
Boss: I’ve never heard enough to judge. But I’ll do it anyway, no.
Cindy: Yes.

What minorities do you HATE?
Alex: White people. And gay people. Mostly gay white people. And all those immigrants.
Boss: All of them.
Cindy: People smarter than me.

Would it be fairer to ask who you don’t hate? We understand your unending rage.
Alex: No mostly just the white gays.
Boss: It’d be easier.
Cindy: I don’t hate Rosencrantz. Or Tom Stoppard.

Finish this statement: Sometimes I just want to…
Alex: Burn everything to the ground.
Cindy: Buy something I hate just to own it.

The Long Awaited And Much Anticipated Accidental Pollinator Interview

Today we at [Blank] Magazine sat down with the members of Accidental Pollinator to have a tête-à-tête. It was extremely baring, to say the least. Accidental Pollinator will probably never be looked at the same way again.
The members of Accidental Pollinator, as we all know, are Alex Electric, Boss and Cindy Parker. It’s difficult to describe them…they seem to be above words in many ways. In fact, most of their fans are drawn to their blaring synthpop music because it seems to transcend the power of normal communications.
However, to give you a better idea of our tête-à-tête, we’ll let you know a little of what the members of Accidental Pollinator look like. First you have Alex Electric. Some have described him as a huge cloud with lightening bolts flashing wildly out of it. Others say he’s more like an unholy union of metal, light bulbs, and wildly lashing electrical cords. When we spoke to him, he appeared to be a rather unremarkable young man, with died black hair and an all black outfit. Boss has never been particularly well described by fans. They seem to get confused and talk a lot about giant knives playing the instruments, or simply of a space that flickers in and out of reality. At this time though, he was just another young man, with long blonde hair, who didn’t seem to want to be there. Cindy Parker on the other hand, has never been described as anything but babetastic, though some argue that the proper term is babelicious. We simply saw her as a young woman who had vaguely pink hair and was casually smoking a cigarette.

[Blank]: To start things off, can you swim?

Alex, Boss, and Cindy Parker: (After a moment of uncertainty) Yes, yes we can.

[Blank]: Well that’s good. We wouldn’t you drowning in the future. But let’s talk politics. With all the horrible things happening in today’s political world, lots of your fans think you could run the government better. Would you ever want to be on the Supreme Court?

C: I wouldn’t turn down the position.
B: Only if all my friends were on the court as well.
A: No. (Cindy and Boss give Alex an incredulous look)

[Blank]: Right. Would you support Cthulhu if he ran for President?

B & A: (Nodding) Yes. (Cindy breaks down and starts chanting in some strange language. It takes Boss and Alex several minutes to calm her down.)

[Blank]: Is Cindy alright?

A: Yes…she’s just…fine.

[Blank]: Are you sure?

B: Yes! God damn, just get on with the interview.

[Blank]: Okay, then. If we can’t trust the people in our government, shouldn’t we replace them?

B: Nah…let them have something to do.
A: The better question is: What would we replace them with? (Cindy nods in agreement)

[Blank]: The mußßing industry recently became very popular across the world, however some question the ethical and social acts involved in mußßing. Some have even gone as far as to say that the mußßing industry “goes against God.” Does Accidental Pollinator condone the actions of the mußßing industry?

A: (After a shared look, Alex pulls a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket, and reads what it says mechanically) Accidental Pollinator will neither condone nor condemn the actions of the mußßing industry based on ethical or social reasons. Accidental Pollinator will say that the issue is worth talking about, and that we must rely on those in the highest echelon of governing to lead us well in this area.
C: I for one would like to say, that personally, I think mußßing is an effective use of available resources.
A: Cindy!
C: What? I do! And aren’t we supposed to be supporting (Cindy air-quotes) “talking about the issue”?
A: Only in the government!
B: I agree with Cindy. Muß babies and be done with it.
A: (exasperatedly) Don’t you guys remember what the lawyers said?
C & B: No. (Alex sighs)

[Blank]: You’ve been talking to a lawyer?

A: (looking guilty) Well…yeah. A little. Just for some advice, mostly.

[Blank]: Mostly?

A: Well…there’s this thing about a certain ghetto white girl, but we’re not really supposed to talk about it before our court date.

[Blank]: Oh. Well, good luck with all that. Did you lawyer ask you not to talk about anything else?

A: We really can’t say…

[Blank]: Fine. Be that way. Moving on, the up-start, fanatical group FAD, is drawing a lot of media attention recently. How does Accidental Pollinator feel about this?

C: We all actually support FAD.
A: Technically I’m a member. (Everyone stares at him) Well…it’s a long story. And I’m not actually gay.

[Blank]: Sure. We believe you. And on that note, let’s delve a little more deeply into your personal lives. After all, you must have one. So, which would you rather have: Romance or Passion?

C: Passion.
B: Romance.
A: Both. Why do I need to choose?

[Blank]: That’s actually a really good question. Don’t settle kids! Hold out for everything. So who’s your everything, your favorite sexual partner?

C: He knows who he is.
A: Cthulhu.
B: The Boss. Sort of.

[Blank]: Sort of? Care to explain that?

B: No.

[Blank]: Fair enough. Who is your celebrity crush?

B: Liz Enthusiasm, she’s a rokk star.
C: Alex(x) Reed, Kasson Crooker, and James Spader.
A: (hesitantly) Michael Douglas.

[Blank]: Right. You’re not gay at all.

A: I’m really not! I know you won’t believe that, but it’s true. Michael Douglas just has a power over me. I don’t think I could say no to him. It’s not gay at all.

[Blank]: (sarcastically) Not gay at all. (after a moment of silence) So anyway, what is your fashion statement?

A: Gloom. Black is the color of the day.
C: No statement. I just wear whatever is lying around…and I’m careful about what exactly is lying around.
B: No matter how bad I look, I’ll always look better than everyone else at Tech.

[Blank]: Speaking of, what do you think about Virginia Tech?

C: If Hell were a place it would be exactly like…hell, Virginia Tech is that place! (Alex and Boss nod in agreement)

[Blank]: Surely there’s some redeemable aspect.

C: The buildings are alright…as long as they’re empty.
A: Yeah. The architecture is pretty nice. And it’s alright academically.
B: I guess Alex and Jenny and a few of the teachers are alright…

[Blank]: Do you have any super-powers?

B: I’m a man.
C: I have a cell phone.

[Blank]: Those aren’t really super…

A: My super-power is super-subtlety. They’re so subtle you have no idea what they are.

[Blank]: We do now.

A: Damn it! I’ve got to stop giving them away!

[Blank]: Is there any amount of money for which you would unconditionally sell your body?

C: Nope.
B: Depends on what they want and who they are.
A: I’d say around $500,000.
C: Are you kidding?
A: Not really…I mean, I would go less depending on what was asked of me.
C: The question was about unconditionally selling your body. The person you sell it to could want to tie to upside down to the ceiling and drip hot wax all over you while luring a snake up your ass with milk!
A & B: Ugh!
C: And you’ve got college payments, a villa in France, several very nice cars, and possibly your own airplane. Not to mention you’re in a music group that is more likely to cost you money than to put money in your pocket! At the very least you should be asking for several hundred million, if not more!
A: On second thought, I probably wouldn’t sell my body unconditionally. Snakes… (shivers)

[Blank]: Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan?

C: Lindsay Lohan. She’s got better breasts.
A: Hilary Duff. They’re both human voids, but at least she’s not a total whore.
B: Cadet Kelly!

[Blank]: What do you think about children?

A: Children are meant to be taken care of with love and respect.
B: They’re a financial burden, nothing but trouble, stressful, and a status symbol.
C: That is to say, they’re parasitic and should be stopped as soon as possible.

[Blank]: Stopped? How do you stop children?

B: (enthusiastically) Muß them at an early age! (Cindy nods in agreement)
A: Guys! Really, the lawyer is never going to let us forget this!

[Blank]: There’s nothing wrong with mistakes.

C: Yeah! And we’ll just blame you anyway, Alex. (Alex sighs dejectedly)

[Blank]: So let me ask a few questions about the band then. How much ransom would you pay for a member of Accidental Pollinator?

B: Depends on which member it is. (Everyone looks surreptitiously at Alex)

[Blank]: What about your instruments? How much would you pay for one of them?

C: Anything! Why are you asking anyway?

[Blank]: We’ll ask the questions here! What is it about synthpop?

A: Synthpop can be good old-fashioned fun, but at times even a little sexy.
C: It’s like techno, but with good music and real lyrics.

[Blank]: Karl Marx once said that “Religion is the opiate of the masses.” What is Accidental Pollinator the opiate for?

A, B & C: (in eerie synchronicity) The masses.

[Blank]: We have your naked pictures. Why did you take them?

B: How did you get those?
C: You know, we didn’t take them. He did.
A: Besides, we were young. And we needed the money.

[Blank]: Don’t worry. We won’t judge you. But we do have a few more personal questions. Do you think that science should be taught to the masses, or should it be hoarded by academia?

A: Well…science should be offered to the masses, but a lot of people are still too stupid to get it.
B: No way. Academia should use science to rule the world.
C: It would be easier than dumbing it down for all the stupid people out there.

[Blank]: Which actor would you like to kick in the crotch?

A: Tom Cruise.
C: The Olsen twins.
B: Oh God, there are so many!

[Blank]: Which one needs it most?

B: Probably Colin Farrell. I saw a clip of Phone Booth today.

[Blank]: Have you ever been accused of being venal?

B: No.
C: I’ve been insulted for not being so.
A: What does venal mean?

[Blank]: Venal: adjective : capable of being bought or obtained for money or other valuable consideration: purchasable; especially : open to corrupt influence and especially bribery; mercenary.

A: Oh, then no.

[Blank]: What’s wrong with America?

B: Lots of things. Too many to list.
C: Americans.
A: What isn’t wrong with America?

[Blank]: Is Rebecca crazy, or is it just the woman in her trying to escape?

B: I can’t even tell anymore, not that is matters either way.
A: The woman escaped years ago. What we’re seeing now is separation anxiety.
C: Speaking of…we should probably find her.

[Blank]: Her?

C: Yeah. The escaped woman.

At this point, Accidental Pollinator faded out of sight. They didn’t move. It was like they’d simply been erased in front of us. We gathered our notes and returned to our offices.
Once there we cut anything of real value out, because we at [Blank] Magazine don’t believe in giving you useful information. Otherwise you might decide to have some opinions. And then we’d be out of a job, because it’s our job to give you opinions. So here’s your opinion for the day: Accidental Pollinator is sure to strike it big in the near future. Therefore you should buy anything that they put up for sale. ANYTHING!

Copyright, 2005, [Blank] Magazine

Hey y'all! I totally wrote a rap about Accidental Pollinator tonight. It was mostly inspiration from something. No idea what. But whatever. It's pretty tight, but I need to clean it up a little...maybe. I'll definitely show it to y'all, but I'm not ready to post it here just yet. Ye-eah!

Yes, I have been doing stuff for the Band. At least in theory, until about this week. I've been making up the (potential) logo(s), so I have been contributing. As soon as I finish them and get the chance I'll put them on here somehow. Some day. And I really want to get the time to go over a lot of music stuff, and I really want to edit. Maybe monday. I have found some cat sounds for that song, including Ocelot's little meow. I feel better.

One song down!

So I spent many hours today, and I finished "A Tale of Two Kitties." I consider this a "pre-demo" and last nite I showed andrew the "pre-pre-demo" of the song, i.e. just enough music to give you the general feel of the song. So today I re-recorded most of what I had, heavily altered the bass line for the chorus and re-wrote the melody for the chorus. All this was low pressure considering I don't think the chorus is the most important part of the song. Then I went about the laborious and methodical process of recording the rest of the song. It went well, and I think we have a pretty dancy and catchy song. It's pretty long too, I didn't time it (because it's so long, and when you spend all day working on a song and all week thinking about it, you need a break eventually, I didn't feel like listening to it again). It is long though, partially because I added a pretty lengthy (yet nice) outro. I was really looking forward to adding the outro to this song, and I had fun doing it. Well to be honest I've been in a terrible mood all day so I didn't have tha much fun, but you get the picture. Anywho, writing lyrics will be a snap *snaps fingers* so I am pretty pleased...and I am pleased with that. I was dissapointed however with the fact that the QY has no cat sound effect.

The Cure is still stupid...

Things are going well. I've been in a horrific music slump for the past several weeks, but I am pulling out of it in flying colors. I'm working on two songs right now that I am VERY excited about. Usually I like to contain my enthusiasm with things of this nature, but I am genuinely excited. I want to show them to the rest of the band (you know who you are) sometime this weekend, if I can get them done in time. My family is going out of town, so I'll have the house to myself to work, I just need several hours of un-interrupted work, and I'll have these "demos" up and ready. This will make five songs that I am writing/have written. Out of those five only three are actually good IMO...the first one, albeit important to me in many ways...isn't really good enough to do anything with...but I'll always love it. I was working on another one that I thought was wicked cool, but now I thoroughly hate it. Then there is "Fantastic Plastic" My own personal ode to "Starlight." It's not the best song in the whole world, but I do like it, and I hope we can make some use of it. The two new ones are tentatively (sic) titled "Triall" and "A Tale of Two Kitties." The cool thing is each song represents one of the kinds of songs I want to be able to write, and make. These two types of songs are angsty, brooding, gut-wrenching music...ala TSN or The smashing pumpkins..."Triall" is that kind. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum is "A Tale of Two Kitties" which is the other kind of music I'm in love with...bouncy, silly, and disgustingly catchy and groovalicious synth-pop...and trust me...this song is catchy...like, I 've been humming it at work for several days in a row. Once I've (or we've depending) written lyrics I'll post them...because I know how our fans are desparate for updates ;-)

Oh, and the Korg and the QY have been getting alot GREAT. Match made in heaven. The korg has NEVER had his batteries replaced! Also, if anyone needs a birthday present for me...I need the cord that connects the QY to the PC. I am running out of MEMORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started on a new song today (gasp!) I think its going to be called "Then My World Goes Down". What I have so far is hinting towards a mildly depressing some about trying to make a difference but never getting anywhere real. The first verse is about wanting to be a hero but not having any way to be one, the second verse is about falling in love but everytime you get close to the person it seems like they're even further away. I'm pretty excited about it. Of course once World of Warcraft comes back up I'll probably never look at it again. Such is the life of a rock star.

I know, I need to finish the other songs I've been working on, but...erm...I started anew song! It is very different from anything else I've written so far. It's called "They Are Coming". I'm looking forward to it. It has the most interesting percussion section I've put together so far. It's Lisa's favorite XD. So...yeah. I need to see if I can make the QY more sensitive to velocity input on the Korg...if not I'll just have to hit the keys harder XD.

The MicroKorg came today. Alex and I are calling him "Korg" while Boss insists on calling him "Mike" just to confuse everyone. Alex and I have been playing with him for the last handful of hours and the final result is that I have a huge headache since Alex has the amp up really loud, We're both tired from being confused by the manual, and Alex has figured out the chorus of Science Genius Girl and has been playing it nonstop. Boss has slept through all of this.

Monday I move into my new apartment which, since my roommate has suddenly had a bout of indecisiveness and may or may not be moving in, will have a music room for atleast the first month or so, depending on whether Gwen moves in or not. And if she does she'll have to sleep in the living room. I'll post pictures once its done but it'll have my computer (and eventually my new computer), the keyboard from Dave, an amp (preferably more than one, Korg, QY, Vocoder, and Midi-Keyboard all need one, I'm guessing), a vocoder and a stand for the Korg when he comes by for a visit. Plus music posters and other things to make us musicy. And that room has a weird closet so maybe I'll pull a Duke and put the computer there.

Correction. Alex has the verse figure out too.

So sleepy

I've had several really dreamy "sections" of a song scattered around here and there in various places on the QY, and I planned to base a songs off of most of them. My only problem is that I felt that they were all a little too similar...so that each song would sound alot like the last one. So instead I just went down to the soccer field and smashed them all together and made one dreamy pretty song. I think it came out pretty good. The verse is really pretty, and I have a really pretty pad and base line then I addanother synth over that to give it a bit more melody. I'm worried that the last synth might make it sound cluttered, but I think it's okay, and I really like that synth line. The chorus was something I came up with a couple days ago doing scales on the piano (lame I know). The neat thing about the chorus is that it feels like it should sound really cluttered. But it doesn't...the bass line is in a way two bass lines in one, and yet it doesn't drown out the chorus at all, and I made the chorus a really soft and gentle pad, so it was really in danger of being drowned out...but it works. My only problem really to fix with this song is that the transition from verse to chorus is really sudden and doesn't sound right. I think that the chorus and the verse work great with each other, and it even sounds okay going from chorus to verse, just not the other way around. Weird. It shouldn't be too hard to fix, I pretty much already know how to fix it, I just took a break. I also think a really neat synthy bridge is needed. It shouldn't be too hard to come up with, but who knows. For a while I just laid on my back and played around on that really dreamy pad and just looked at the clouds. It was really cool, like I was in a pure moods commercial. God I'm sleepy.

Water Slide (WiP)

Hurry Hurry
First day out of school
Hurry Hurry
We're going somewhere cool
I bet you've never been there
It's gonna be real fun
You better bring a change of clothes
You'll be soaked through when we're done

Chorus: Water slide Water slide
Ten miles high by three miles wide
Water slide Water slide
The worlds biggest water slide
Have fun now cause we're all gonna die

The biggest one you've ever seen
Looks like something from a dream
Stretches up into the clouds
Little kids are screaming loud
Coated in bronze so it won't break
Hurry hurry
Cause I can't wait

Chorus

I know you think its a joke
I know you think that it's a lie
So why don't you come see for yourself
The world's biggest water slide

This was the first song we wrote as a band. The song came very easily to all of us and the music was easy to write as it was a tune that both Alex and I were humming while writing the chorus. Unfortunately this song has been moved to the back burner while other songs are writen and composed so it is still just the chorus plunked out in piano on the QY.

Fag Lightening (WiP)

You come in a flash
And there's a big bang
You shake that ass
Cause you know you're Miss Thang
We don't get worried on a cloudy day
Cause you're like the sun & you light our way
Cause you're AOK & fabulously gay & that is why we're here to say

Chorus: You're a bolt of heat and electricity
A sexy stylish grumble and a bright white light
You look so hot, we love your eccentricity
And you know that lightening never strikes twice
You are fag lightening

So sexy, so sweet
So cute, so chic
You're cool, so neat
A revolutionary freak

Chorus

Not just a face, you've got a brain too
You're the best of retro & the best of new
Everything to you comes naturally
But most important you're gorjuss x3

This song was both concieved and written in one night. The melody for the verse was originally a bass line Alex had composed on the QY earlier and wanted to use for something, luckily it works. The chorus melody was fought over all night until we gave up and told Alex to write the rest of the song, which he has yet to do.

The Human Touch (WiP)

“The Human Touch”

I am pure
I am cold
Bereft of Fear
I do as I’m told

Chorus: I require so little
I yield so much
My perfection is no riddle
I lack the human touch

Sublimely perfect, and perfectly clean, no imperfection
I move forward unconsciously, no introspection
No matter what we do I won’t remember anything, no recollection
No matter what we do, I won’t regret anything, no reflection

(Chorus)

Bridge:
Beautiful emptiness,
Machinated inner bliss (repeat)

I am blank, I am full
I’m kinetic, I’m potential,
Full of sound, without saying a word
I’m the empty music that’s never heard

This song was written by Alex in a hammock in South Carolina. Its a great little ditty that the rest of the band actually likes even if no music has been composed for Alex's favorite song.

Skeleton Xylophone (WiP)

If I had to pick, I’d always be a synth-pop singer
But I used to play another musical instrument
one that lied under human integument
and it’s for these bones that my desire still lingers

Chorus:
I used to play my skeleton xylophone,
I was loving very minute of it, tone for tone
Making great music on some dead guys bones
I used to play my skeleton xylophone

If I had to pick, my favorite part is the spinal cord
A crescendo on that back bone always left me floored
when I would lay into an anatomical groove, my heart just soared
it was my skeleton xylophone that I adored

(Chorus)

bridge: I have a bone to pick! I need a bone to pick!

If I had to pick, between being sad or happy
than I have to return to yesterday
I know it seems nostalgic, I know it seems sappy
but nothing rokks more than a solo on some vertebrae!

So excuse me kids, excuse me boys, but I can’t keep stalling
I just gotta jam, My xylophone is calling!
(Skeleton xylophone jam)

(Chorus)

This song was also written by Alex in South Carolina. The original concept was Alex telling one of his dogs he wanted to rip his spine out a play it like a xylophone. He has SERIOUS problems. We've yet to write any music for this song either.

Gothic Techno Princess (WiP)

She sits on a cybertronic throne, made of skulls
numbers flow under her cold white skin
she has nothing to live for, her consciousness lulls
than it awakes, it shivers, when I walk in

Chorus:
I love you no more and no less
then life and death
than empty breath
You’re the one I want, I have no regrets
my gothic techno princess

She slides across the floor, leaving a trail of ice
she’s wearing a dress made of bloody glass and circuitry
her eyes are dead, with just enough life to suffice
I want you my princess, I want you sexually

(Chorus)

We embrace, my heart starts to race,
she stares into me, she stares behind me, I touch her face
My skin goes numb, I don’t care, I’ll die for her
as the music swells, our life force quells, I don’t care, I’ll die with her

Another in the series of Alex's South Carolina songs. He was listening to way too much Depeche Mode and telling me that I was a Gothic Techno Princess in his head and then suddenly he decided to write this. I just like the idea of seeing this song title on the back of a CD. We have yet to try and write any music for this song, we'd probably disband the band and start a Jack of Jill cover band if we aren't careful trying.

So Vital (WiP)

Chorus:
you are amazing, you’re like nothing I’ve ever seen,
you’re the most perfect thing that is, or ever has been,
to me you are the most important thing in the entire world,
to me, you are so vital, so vital, so vital....

Looking at you, I’m, dazzled by your oppositionalism,
the radical contrast of your entire mechanism
your head is completely different from your toes,
and in this, all of your secrets lie exposed.

You hold yourself so tightly,
like nothing could break through,
you hold yourself so mightily,
I think I could stand straight up on you.

(Chorus)

You stick to me,
you stick to you,
you stick to we
we stick to you

When your inside me,
you move from high to low
It’s automatic

When your inside of me,
you push and pull
it’s hydrostatic

(Chorus)

Bridge:
You melt me.....
You freeze me...
You vaporize me....

When I heat up, and you are around me,
You take it all, you absorb all of my energy
you float off, as you change your identity,
you float off and I breathe your vapor around me

You slow down, and spread out gradually
you crystallize and materialize angelically
you float to the surface of my liquid soul
you float up, as I sadly watch as you go.

(Extended chorus)

(Instrumental Outro)

Alex talked about writing this song from the momment we decided to start the band. I have to admit that I'm proud of him for actually doing it. The actual song was inspired by the song I Want You by Cosmicity. Hint, the song is actually about something very specific, if you want to stress about it and have us never confirm if you're wrong or right. No music yet, this one will either be really hard or extremely easy. Easy meaning that we just rip off Cosmicity. Out of all of Alex's songs this one is my favorite.

Aqua Versipellis (WiP)

Bloody claws
Wet fins
be prepared
to die for his sins

Chorus:
The tide is high
and there’s a full moon
the end is nigh
aqua werewolf is coming soon

When the moon is full, the ocean releases a demon
out comes a beast, half wolf, half fish, half man
he kills non-stop, leaving a crimson tide without reason
supple flesh and human blood is his only demand

(Chorus)

*some howling and stuff*

Don’t try to hide don’t try to run
don’t try to live don’t try to die
don’t try to cry, just pray for the sun
don’t try to hope, and don’t ask why.

The concept of the Aqua Versipellis is actually a very bad joke from 10th grade biology about wheat that grows in water. Don't ask, you really don't want to know. The music for Aqua Versipellis plans to be a fast paced rock oriented song, possibly with guitars. Not real guitars, QY guitars.

Cindy's really bad song (WiP)

Prove it, baby
Prove it to me
Prove to me that I am real
And prove to me
That you are really here

Can you see me?
Can you hear me?
Does that mean I don't exist?

Is the moon still in the sky
When the sun illuminates us all?
Do the seas still churn
When you can't feel the waves?

Gravitys invisible, baby
But it still has a pull
So why is it my matter
Doesn't matter at all?

My voice comes through the stereo
And suddenly I'm there
I walk through the front door
And suddenly you care

Yeah I wrote this peice of crap (Alex likes it) while on the Greyhound bus back from Boston. Its supposed to be a mildly angry song about a unfaithful boyfriend and quantum physics but it hasn't been rewritten yet. Niether has any music been written, but wait for it, maybe one day.
