I remember you.

We met once, in another life. In another lifetime. You're the one that said to me that you wanted to see the end of the world. Am I right? You said, you wanted to watch the cities crumble. To see civilization dissolve in bullets & blood. To see all the sky turn forever night. Armageddon. The apocalypse. Whatever they wanted to call it.

Well, you saw it, love.

But that wasn't the end. Because that's not what humanity is.

This is what humanity is: two-legged cockroaches struggling up, up, out from the remains of their homes. Blindly reconstructing the buildings that brought them down. Scrounging through fields of twisted metal for the technology that killed their ancestors. Restarting the civilizations that led them all to suicide.

And two hundred years later, Tokyo's a city again. Not the same as it was before, but all the pieces are in place. The Zerodantai, the law of the land. The Kuushuugou, the freedom fighters. And the rest of the city, unsure who or what or how to believe. Or apathetic to it all. Or wide-eyed in fear. Exhilaration. Anticipation.

Do you still want to see the end of the world, love?
