Welcome to A2RPG. This a Role Play Group for people living in Ann Arbor. This Particular Role Play is about a post apocalyptic world infested with Zombies. Below is the back-story as to why this has happened. Below the story is a list of rules for joining and posting to this community. PLEASE JOIN AND ENJOY!
Back-Story: It's an apocalyptic world these days. Ever Since what we've labeled as "The Z Virus" took hold of humanity, life has been hard. It all started in the summer of 2006. How the Z Virus was released is still really unknown. There are plenty of rumors. Some say that it was a bio-nuclear weapon released by America's enemies. Some think that the Bird Flu mutated horrible. Others say it was an act of god. All of these are rumors and nothing more. While we do not know what really caused this horrible, horrible thing to spread, we do know HOW it spreads.
There are a few simple things everyone needs to know about this deadly virus.
* Those infected with the Z Virus are identified as "Living Dead" How correct this labeling is, I don't know. I DO know however, that infection goes through four steps. The steps go as so:
1.) Infection (Through a bite, or exchange of bodily fluids ONLY.)
2.) Illness. (This is accompanied by cold sweats, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, and immobility.)
3.) Death (This can happen anywhere between 2minutes after infection or 12 hours depending on the seriousness of the bite.)
4.) Re-animation. (This happens no less than sixty seconds after death.)
* Those Infected with the Z Virus are highly contagious. If bitten, seek quarantine immediately. Do all in your power to avoid coming into contact with any bodily fluids from the Living Dead.
* The only known way to kill someone infected with the Z Virus is by destroying the brain. Whether it be done with guns, fire, swords ect. is up to you, but the brain MUST be destroyed.
* The Z Virus is deadly. No matter what, if you are infected, you WILL become one of these monsters.
This epidemic has wiped out much of humanity. Friends and Family alike have died because of it, and we, the survivors are trapped in our home city of Ann Arbor. Some of us are trapped in Briarwood Mall. Others are trapped in the Kerrytown Building. Some are stuck in SAMS CLUB on the outskirts of the city. Some are trapped in Meijer, and a Select few are wandering the city itself, fighting the Living Dead and searching for refuge in the above-mentioned places.
RULES:
* You must: Be a resident of Ann Arbor, or have a good knowledge of Ann Arbor's geography.
* Everyone Must: Post at LEAST three times a week. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays. It doesn't matter. Pick three days that you want to post your entry, and that will be fine.
* Everyone must play himself or herself. NO FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. If you are Gynelle, then you play as Gynelle. If you are Stephanie, then you play as Stephanie. However, if someone declines their invitation to join the group. I.e.: Matt says he'd rather not play. That means Matt's character is up for grabs. However, keep in mind, if you're playing for Matt, you still have to play for yourself. Taking someone else's character basically means posting six times a week instead of three.
* It is preferred that everyone writes in THIRD PERSON PARAGRAPHS. Example: "Gynelle gasped when she saw none other than James wandering the mall... Maybe he was a zombie... Loading her gun, she aimed it, and knew the perfect test to see if it was really him. "DUTCH PROSTITUTION!" She shouted, eyes wide, then she crouched, waiting for a response." While this is an optional style of writing, it will make it a lot easier for everyone who is reading to know which character they're reading about.
* Everyone has to pick a location. Your options are: Briarwood Mall, Sam's Club, Meijer, Kerrytown, or Wandering outside any location. If you pick to be a wanderer, then you are allowed at any point to switch to an indoor location. Likewise, if someone inside wants to become a wanderer, or move to another location, it is permitted as long as there is a transition. Here are some examples: Good: "Reah realized that she couldn't stand the mall any longer. When the time was right, she slipped out through a small side door. Outside, the Living Dead were worse than ever before. But she had to get to Meijer. She just KNEW her brother was there." Then you have to detail her journey to Meijer. A BAD thing to do would be this: BAD:"Reah was sick of the mall. She had to go to Meijer. Once she got to Meijer she decided to look for her Brother." THIS IS NOT OKAY. YOU MUST DETAIL YOUR CHARACTER'S JOURNEY. Otherwise everything will become too confusing.
* Your character MUST interact with other characters. If you are chronicling your journey, and you don't encounter anyone else, or choose to ignore everyone else, you are not helping the story and will be kicked out of the community.
* No spamming the community. This is a community for the story, and only the Story. As a Moderator, I reserve the right to delete any entries that break this rule.
