random_variety. Please try not to notice that I'm a giant spastic nerd.I want to keep this as simple as possible, and I really don't want to have to moderate. Please just follow the _rules below and we should all get along quite nicely.
_rules
1. Please make an introductory post. It would be helpful for you to state what kinds of music you are into, and whether or not you have files available to share.
2. Target your links to open in new windows. If you don't know how, there's a brief FAQ toward the bottom of the page that can help you out.
3. Please post links to files as Artist - Song Title. If you don't know how to change that, make sure to check the FAQ below.
4. Make an effort to break your links and once the files expire. Please
5. It's not mandatory at all and I won't be checking this, but promotion helps us all out, really. The more members we've got, the more music we've got.
6. Don't make fun of other people's tastes.
7. Don't request entire albums. It's rude, and the point of this community is to help people discover new music that they can go out and buy for themselves.
8. Please try to participate. If you're only ever asking for songs and never posting, it's hardly fair.
_faq
What is yousendit.com? How do I use it? If you're somehow unaware, yousendit.com is a website that allows you to email very large files (up to 1 GB). You specify a recipient's email address (I usually send files to myself) and upload your file to the yousendit server. Then click "send it" and you will be directed to a page with a link. This is the link to the file you have just uploaded, and this is the link that you will post here to share the file with others.
How do I change a link to read as a song title rather than a URL? This is really actually quite simple. Instead of just pasting the link directly into your post, you will format it with html as follows:
Change the [] brackets to <> brackets and you're set.
Why doesn't this link work? After a file is uploaded, it is only valid for 7 days or 15 downloads, whichever occurs first. After either of these things happens, the link has expired and cannot be used. If you notice that a link you have posted has expired, please indicate it by de-linking the text and putting a line through
to
[s]Artist - Song Title[/s]
and again changing the [] brackets to <> brackets.
