Searching for a fic

Hey everyone I was just wondering if any of you could help me find a Rin/Sesshomaru story. The details are under the cut. Thanks!

The story starts off with Rin being a bit older and realizing that her Lord Sesshomaru deserves a new arm, but she knows she'd have to train for a long time to be able to do that, and Sesshomaru wouldn't let her just leave him. Jaken then helps Rin leave the castle, where they have settled, by creating a mix of herbs and tells her to follow the river so Sesshomaru can't trace her scent. After a few months/years, I'm not sure, Rin comes back with the power to create a new forearm for Sesshomaru. She goes back to her master and tells him of her new powers but he refuses for her to make him an arm because he knows it'll kill her if she does.

Chapter Ten: The Mark

“Sesshoumaru-sama!” Rin, now fourteen, ran towards him a bright smile spreading across her face; white flowers were braided into her hair. “Sesshoumaru-sama!” She was barefoot wearing a crimson kimono with pink and white flowers embroidered across the back.

Seven days away from him had seemed like an eternity, yet in the last four years going to the village once every month had become a regular occasion. Kagome explained to her that her lord needed time away from her and it, in a way, was similar to her monthly visitor. Rin found the idea utterly hilarious when she asked Sesshoumaru what her mentor meant he had not answered her. However the weekly visits with the miko were not a waste of time for the girl, he had been correct in his assumption. Therefore Kagome made a bargain with Sesshoumaru, if he did not gut Inuyasha as punishment for trying to kill Rin she would train the young girl to full adulthood in the ways of a priestess.

The sacred beads she carried scattered across the ground at her feet as she ran to him.

The passed four summers were not easy for the taiyoukai. Sesshoumaru went through bouts of intense desire for Rin almost to the point of great risk for the girl’s well-being. It was decided she would live in the ningen village with the mikos once a month while he found ways to relieve himself of such desires. The first time Rin had cried and cried convinced that her lord had intentions of never coming back for her. He went to great lengths to assure her that was not the case, nips and licks on her neck to calm her down. Two years before he had consulted Bokusenon on taking the girl as his mate however the tree-youkai suggested he wait a few more years until she was stronger in her power and would be able to handle him.

Inuyasha had come to accept that Sesshoumaru no longer loved him and eventually could be in a room with Rin without causing problems. Mostly because Kagome ‘sat’ him half a dozen times afterwards he was sore for weeks.

Sesshoumaru greeted her with a stroke of her brown hair as she wrapped her arms around his waist. She smelled of jasmine and another scent he could not place, something of Kagome’s, he mused.

“I missed you so much, my lord,” she smiled up at him and kissed his hand.

“Pick up your beads and we’ll go home. Did you have a bath?”

“Yes, but it was so cold. I don’t like bathes in the river.” She said bending down to retrieve the beads she had so carelessly thrown aside, carefully placing them inside her kimono. “Can we stop at an onsen?”

“We’ll see.” Sesshoumaru picked her up when she was finished with the beads, cradling her in his arm. Her head lulled back and forth against his shoulder her fingers absently tangling and untangling in his silver hair. Soon she was sleeping peacefully the taiyoukai pulled her body tighter against him. Taking flight Sesshoumaru shielded her body from the wind and in a short time they arrived to the ancient castle of the Western Lands.

After Naraku’s death the inu-youkai was able to restore the Western Lands finally with no delay and returned to his father’s castle. Rin was given the task of cleaning and picking out whatever she wanted for her own room.

As he carried the young ningen to her bedroom memories came back to him, Rin had chosen his old room, the one his father had built. He leaned forward brushing her forehead with his lips. He covered her with the blanket staring down at her cursing himself for not finding another mate to tie him over until she was old enough. Hell, the great Inu-no-taishou had done the same with Izayoi, he found a powerful inu-youkai bitch to mate with until she was of acceptable age only the bitch had gotten pregnant foiling his plans of having only one heir. The last thing I need is my own whelp trying to overthrow me the way I tried with chichi-ue.

Rin stirred beneath his gaze her eyes opening she grinned with a twinkle in her eye that made the lord shiver. Sitting up she released just where she was and looked at him “I fell asleep…” She said with a frown.

“I’ll take you to the onsen tomorrow. Now tell me, Rin, what did you learn this week?”

The girl scooted over so he could sit down next to her and when he did she climbed up into his lap. Taking a few strands of his hair between her fingers she began to braid it as she talked, “Kagome-sama wanted me to practice with the sacred arrows. I don’t like it much….” She trailed off.

“What happened, Rin?”

She would not make eye contact with him her fingers still working on the silver braid when it was finished she licked her index finger and her thumb wetting the tip of his hair so the braid would not come undone.

“Rin,” Sesshoumaru lifted her chin forcing her to look at him, “Did you cause trouble for Kagome?”

She shook her head. “I don’t like bows and arrows,” Rin said quietly, “Kagome-sama said I was good with them but I don’t like it. I asked if I could just have beads and I wouldn’t waste them.” Her forehead wrinkled.

He let go of her chin. He didn’t understand.

She sighed and went on to pull the flowers out of her hair, “Bandits killed them.”

“What are you talking about?” He didn’t like the change in her scent, as though she was about to cry. Rin..?

“You know my parents and my big brother were killed by bandits.” She paused, “The bandits used flaming arrows to burn our house and used knives on my family.” She trembled at the memory. “I have nothing against Kagome-sama for using them….it just didn’t feel right for me to use them. It’s like I’m no better then those evil men.”

Sesshoumaru was stunned, this was the first and only time she had ever spoken of her life pre-meeting him. He didn’t know what to say or how to make her feel better, he couldn’t relate at all. He admired his father but desired to surpass him in power, rarely did he ever think of his own mother, Izayoi died shortly after his father and ever since his brother was a pup he had found him beautiful and mated with him on many occasions. Not the greatest family example to compare with. The silence between them was awkward she was practically trembling in his lap suppressing emotions that threatened to break her. Pressing his lips against her temple Sesshoumaru then licked at her cheek.

Rin giggled wiping the wetness from his warm tongue off of her. Sesshoumaru-sama had changed so much towards her it made her happy that he was so affectionate, but instead of returning the gesture she strummed her fingers against her knee not sure what to say or do. She smiled her brown eyes met his gold eyes, “Oh my beads! I should put them up.” She took the cloth baggie out of her kimono and set it on the small table next to her bed. Taking one out, she showed it to him, “They are like Inuyasha-sama’s beads.” Rin closed it tightly in her fist then dropped it into the baggie, “Only I would never give you subjugation beads like his because that would be mean.” She gave him a devious look and burst into giggles at the now wide eyed Sesshoumaru.

He was relieved that she was in a better mood, he hated when she was upset, and the idea of the girl having her own beads for him did not sit well with the taiyoukai. He stood up, “You need to sleep now, Rin.”

“Oh Sesshoumaru-sama!” She protested still snickering, “I was only kidding.”

Sesshoumaru picked her up and set her down on the bed, “I know you were. I am going to rest as well.”

Rin rolled over opening her eyes she sat up. The room was dark she couldn’t see across the room. “Sesshoumaru-sama….” She whispered his name; her heart was pounding so hard in her chest it hurt. “Do you want me as much as I want you?” Rin placed her hands together over her beating heart the kisses he often gave her were not as intense as they had been that afternoon four long years ago before his younger brother ruined everything.

She knew that Inuyasha was in love with Sesshoumaru it disgusted Rin more then anything but she never spoke against either of the inu-brothers, she had no right. Shippou had informed her of all the trouble it caused between the gumi and Inuyasha but she didn’t care, it was the idea of her lord doing all of the things she wanted to do with him with someone else that hurt her so much. Only once did she bring up her pain over the situation to Kagome but the elder miko pushed the question aside it must have hurt her as much as it did Rin.

Climbing out of bed Rin walked into the hallway and down to Sesshoumaru’s door way she pushed aside the rice paper door, “Sesshoumaru-sama?” She whispered, “Gomen nasai, could I sleep with you tonight?”

He rarely ever slept, once or twice a decade. His golden eyes snapped opened before she was in the room, sitting up he looked at her, “Yes.” Sesshoumaru watched her intently as she walked across the floor to his bed and climbed up next to him. “Did you have a nightmare?” He put his arm around her when she climbed into his lap leaning back against the pillows he looked down at her.

She shook her head. “I know I shouldn’t ask, Jaken-sama always tell me I ask you too many questions but I feel like I’ll die if I don’t know.”

She’s demanding an answer.... Sesshoumaru nodded, “What is it?”

“The houshi told me once the only reason I stay with Kagome-sama is because you go off to mate with Inuyasha-sama so you don’t come after me,” Rin said, “Is that true, my lord?”

Dammit. I…how am I supposed to explain this to you, Rin? I’m only doing this to keep you safe from myself until the time is right. Everything in him wanted to tell her the truth, but he stared at her with the same stoic look he always gave her.

After several moments she realized he was not going to answer her and spoke up, “I’m not asking because I care I’m just curious. I don’t like the idea of you kissing someone else the way you kissed me.” She blushed at the forceful way she spoke to him and touched his cheek with her hand tracing the marks on his face with the tips of her fingers. I love him more then anything in the world. Rin leaned closer to him and pressed her lips against the crescent moon on his forehead, if he doesn’t love me the same…I don’t mind.

“I care for you, Rin.” He said, his clawed hand cupped the back of her head, more then I have ever cared for another being.

Rin smiled and hugged him tightly around the neck.

Sesshoumaru licked at her cheek. She was ready, the girl had loved him the moment she met him. This little ningen female had changed him in ways no one else would understand. He loved her and never wanted to lose her again and he knew what he was going to do. Closing his eyes he pulled her tightly against him, “This will hurt for only a moment,” he whispered in her ear.

She leaned her head back feeling his lips brush over her neck, the graze of teeth sent shivers through her body.

He closed his mouth over her throat lathering the place he intended to mark over with his tongue. Her heart was pounding in his ears along with his own holding her bottom up with his knee Sesshoumaru was able to cradle her, his hand took hold of her shoulder. He pulled back looking into her eyes and he kissed her forehead. “Don’t be afraid.”

“I’m not.” She said bravely staring into his beautiful gold eyes.

Sesshoumaru touched her neck again with his lips then carefully bit into her soft flesh.

Rin trembled in his grasp letting out a mewling cry as his teeth sank in.

Gathering her blood into his mouth he swallowed the tiny mouthful and licked at the wound. His eyes flashed red; biting into his tongue he covered the mark on her neck with droplets of his own blood. Sesshoumaru watched as it mixed with hers, the wound closed on its own and where he had bitten her a tiny crescent moon had form on her skin.

She moaned as the tingling from her neck moved through her whole body and when it was over Rin looked up at him. “Sesshoumaru-sama…..” She tried to sit up but was dizzy suddenly, she touched the place on her neck with her fingers and tears came to her eyes. He marked me as his mate! “Sesshoumaru-sama!”

Sesshoumaru kissed her lips tenderly cutting her off, “Sleep now.” He said, “We will talk in the morning.”

Chapter 9: Awakened

He never loved me he was only using me The young inu-hanyou torn through the forest, the only reason he let me have him in the cave was so he wouldn’t go after her He tells me I’m dirty but he feels no shame in being with her. Inuyasha slammed his fists into the ground ripping at the dirt.

His youkai blood was raging in his ears even with the Tessaiga by his side Inuyasha could feel it, burning heat, pulsing as the anger and hurt rose up within him. This hurt he felt when Kikyou betrayed him was nothing compared to the fury he felt. Sesshoumaru knew very well that Inuyasha still loved him why not break things off in the first place? Why mate with me ? Why make me feel like something can happen between us? WHY ? His jaw tightened he wouldn’t allow himself to cry, not anymore and especially not for Sesshoumaru.

Casting off the Tessaiga Inuyasha stood up, “I don’t need help from my old man to kill that bastard.”

A euphoric Rin leaned against the fur her Lord normally wore over his shoulder. It was soft and felt wonderful against her skin. He told her they would be moving again soon and to not get ‘too comfortable’. Closing her eyes Rin curled deeper into the fluff pulling it around her so she was completely covered by it. It smelled like Sesshoumaru.

Sesshoumaru took a drink from the river, he glanced up to where he left the young Rin, she was dozing by the tree. He plunged his hand into the water splashing his face with it, he groaned, his body burned with lust for her and he couldn’t go crawling to his younger brother like some breeding bitch in heat to alleviate himself nor could he leave Rin to go to his cave. A nap for her now will allow more time for traveling. Sesshoumaru thought as he stripped off his armor and silk clothes then lowered himself into the icy river waters.

He leaned his head back against the riverbank allowing himself the time he needed to calm down. This situation was growing into a serious problem, he had hoped the kissing and small caresses would suffice Rin’s curiosity for physical contact but Sesshoumaru had not planned on his own reactions being as great as they were at least not this quickly.

Not to mention Rin’s eagerness for more. One day she was making those ridiculous flower necklaces the next she was biting his neck like she wanted to mate with him Were all ningen females as strange as Rin? The taiyoukai closed his eyes letting his thoughts of her and the horrible position he was in drift away even if it were only a moment.

His eyes snapped open suddenly something was coming.

That scent. Inuyasha.

Crawling out of the water Sesshoumaru pulled his fundoshi on tying it tie, there was no time to cover himself more. Tonkijin pulsed by his side as the hanyou grew near, his youki was different then when they mated, filled with fury. Sesshoumaru removed the sword from it’s sheathe it seemed to vibrate in his hand as he ran between Inuyasha and the now fully awake Rin.

I’m going to kill you, Sesshoumaru You fucking bastard. His hanyou ears flattened back against his hair, cracking his knuckles Inuyasha let out a growl.

“Lord Sesshoumaru ” The thick voice of the toad youkai was close by, “I’ve finally found you ” Jaken climbed off of Ah-Uh and ran towards him stopping in his tracks when he saw Inuyasha transformed ready to attack.

The Inu-youkai did not look back, “Protect Rin,” he said.

As if on cue Inuyasha lunged for him, his eyes were crimson his fangs enlarged, his claws sank into Sesshoumaru’s phantom left arm he jerked away feeling it dislodging from it’s socket. Cursing himself his concern for Rin had slowed him, Sesshoumaru tossed the blade aside and slammed his fist into his brother’s gut knocking the breath from him. Inuyasha snarled and went after at him again, the left arm hung useless Sesshoumaru severed the limb from his shoulder it was only slowing him down.

Rin clutched onto the fur, “Sesshoumaru-sama ” Her heart pounded seeing her lord discard the arm he had held her with only a short time ago. “Sesshoumaru-sama ” She cried out.

“Shut up you little wench ” Jaken shouted, “ You’re only distracting him ” The toad youkai held onto his staff of two heads trembling. “The arm was no use to him to begin with...”

Poisonous shouki dripped from his claws, “You are pathetic, Inuyasha, letting chichi-ue’s blood control you.” Sesshoumaru taunted him sinking his claws into the hanyou’s skin, he doesn’t have the Tessaiga he knows chichi-ue’s fang is the only thing to hold back the blood.... He slammed his knee into Inuyasha’s groin glancing back at Rin she was still by the tree.

Jaken was trying to pull her out of harm’s way the toad knew that if anything happened to her Sesshoumaru would kill him then bring him back with the Tensaiga and kill him again. “Dammit Rin we have to go now ”

The girl pushed him back, “No I won’t go ” I have to stay with Sesshoumaru-sama.

Inuyasha’s ear perked up hearing Rin’s scream. It’s because of her....she’s the reason why he doesn’t care about me. Claws dug into his thigh and threw him back away from Rin. Blood and green venom covered the ground both brothers out of breath the youngest half out of his mind.

“Osuwari ”

As amusing as it would be for Sesshoumaru to see his crazed brother slammed into the ground that didn’t happen. The furious claws kept coming at him each one Sesshoumaru blocked The ningen girl Kagome, the taijiya, the houshi and the little kitsune now seemed to be an audience to the battle. He groaned feeling Inuyasha’s claws sink deep into his chest and dragged down sharply. He was pinned to the ground for only a moment then kicked Inuyasha several feet away from him Sesshoumaru stood up his chest heaving, blood trickled from the deep gashes in his chest. What the hell happened to him between two nights ago and today to set him off?

Inuyasha came at him again unable to hear the cries of subjugation from Kagome the blood flowing in his ears controlled him now his only desire was to kill.

Rin closed her eyes it pained her to see her lord this way, I have to do something She ran toward the brothers despite Jaken begging for her to stay back, falling to her knees Rin held up her hands, “SESSHOUMARU-SAMA ” A ball of energy seemed to burst from her body forcing Inuyasha away from them with a small barrier.

“Rin-chan.....”, Kagome gasped running to where Inuyasha was thrown, he was unconscious but back to his old self. Her hands came up to touch the barrier the young girl had set up, “What is this?” She whispered and pulled her hands away with a small cry as the barrier disappeared giving her a shock, her eyes went wide Rin had collapsed and wasn’t moving, “Sesshoumaru....is she okay?”

Sesshoumaru did not acknowledge her question but took Rin up cradling her with his arm against his chest, she was still breathing, he sighed inwardly with relief, he turned to retrieve his clothing and leave them.

“Wait ” Kagome cried as the rest of the gumi rushed to help Inuyasha, “Sesshoumaru ”

“Sesshoumaru-sama.” Her voice was filled with joy the way it always is when she wants attention.

“What is it?”

“When I die someday will you still remember me?” She softens, probably blushing a little, her voice is almost sad.

Golden eyes opened slowly shining in the moonlight, the small fire in the middle of camp had died down. Why do such memories fill my dreams? That happened nearly a year ago She could have died today......died.....Rin could have died trying to save me. Sesshoumaru looked down at the girl sleeping across his lap, her small chest rose and fell slowly. Idiot female. In all of his years the taiyoukai could not understand why ningens did the foolish things he had seen them do. Rin made a sound in her sleep breaking him from his thoughts. Why try to help me when I’ve fought youkai a thousand times stronger then Inuyasha It made no sense.

“When I die someday will you still remember me?”

Rin....how could you ask such a thing of me? I will live many centuries after your death. He stroked her neck with his claws, his fingers moving down her small frame. Rubbing her shoulder with his thumb Sesshoumaru’s eyes softened. “I will never forget you.”

“Sesshoumaru-sama.”

He pulled his hand away and froze staring down at her.

She rolled over snuggling into the warmth of his fur. “Sesshou.....maru...sammma.”

Talking in her sleep again. Sesshomaru relaxed lifting her up, careful not to wake her. All sentimental feelings aside he recalled her actions during the battle. That power. She had no markings on her body he would have noticed them when she bathed. Rin was, according to her scent and her previous actions since she traveled with him, a normal mortal girl. If that is so then how could she have set up a barrier in attempt to protect me from Inuyasha? Her female blood stopped flowing after a short four days perhaps the miko powers are kept dormant until the females reach that time? Did Rin know the time was coming? The idea made Sesshoumaru uncomfortable. If something was on Rin’s mind she was not shy to tell him even if it was something as trivial as a little song she made up in the last few minutes. No. She wouldn’t keep something this important to herself. She was terrified when her blood came how could she know about miko powers? She couldn’t have known....unless... Then it hit him. She had told him in her story after he returned from the cave.

Once upon a time there was a strong youkai who could beat any enemy he could find. But one day he found a beautiful miko who was being attacked by wolves. She fought them with all her power, but she could not defeat them, and they killed her. But this youkai was a powerful youkai and could bring her back to life. Nobody knows why, but they think it’s because he loved her. He protected her from youkai like himself and she protected him from the ningen like herself. They got married and lived happily ever after.”

She claimed to have made it up, true she added a few of her own desires as far as the two of them getting married, he understood now that she was trying to tell him who she really was. Or he was reading too much into the girl’s story. There was no proof of her upbringing she didn’t have parents, he assumed, since no one had come looking for her and from what he knew about ningen mothers they would protect a child even if they did not birth them, they could be more dangerous then youkai when it came to protecting their offspring.

When she ran out to ‘protect’ him Sesshoumaru did feel a change in Rin, Inuyasha had become more enraged seeing her, everything happened so fast she set up the barrier and Inuyasha went flying backwards. Sesshoumaru had sensed a similar power several times when in battle with Inuyasha from the miko who wore strange clothes. Kagome normally used enchanted arrows other mikos Sesshoumaru saw during his life were capable of creating barriers as well as other items like the sacred beads his brother wore. The lord twitched at the thought of his little girl using such humiliating powers on him. He would seek advice from the old tree on what he should do about this situation.

The sky was painted orange and pink the sun had not yet begun to rise over the horizon. In a few moments morning would arrive and they would continue their journey . Sesshoumaru lifted a sleeping Rin up close to his face, taking in her nectarous scent, his claws stroked her head. Her black hair felt silken against his fingers, he pressed a gentle kiss against her throat letting his warm tongue slip between his lips. He licked beneath her chin lovingly.

Strange Coincidence

I recently wrote two Sesshomaru/Rin fics, and a running symbol throughout them is of a white flower. Then I found this community, and without knowing what specifically _whiteflowers_ was, I clicked on it. And it's a Sess/Rin comm! Weird coincidence.

Anyway, nice to meet other Sess/Rin fans. I think they are two of the most fascinating characters in Inuyasha, and Rumiko Takahashi's depiction of them is brilliant.

I like both aspects of their relationship. The guardian/ward aspect when Rin is young, and the possible romance when she's older. I only like the idea of that happening in fanon though.

I'm still making my way through the manga. I'm up to chapter 258, so I still have a lot of catching up to do.

WHY I CHOSE THIS:
Even with this pairing becoming more popular with time, there's still a considerable lack of good fanfiction for these two. The author has kept the characterizations of Sesshoumaru, Rin, and Jaken relatively within character, and the story - although common to a certain degree - is told nicely.

I've been watching this comm for a while and figured I might as well join. There is the shortened version of myself (since I'm running around the room getting ready to catch the bus - which I'll most likely miss anyways)

3. Jaken's odd, yet funny
4. I read fanfiction (yes, there's a difference from #1)
5. I don't read enough Sess/Rin
6. I don't read Sess/Kag (at least not yet)
7. I have an unholy fascination regarding their demon/human connection
8. Highly amused with their age difference

Hello!

Well...I think I've left this community neglected for way too long! I'm fleurette, your formerly missing maintainer. Nope...still haven't done anything with the appearance of this community...but hopefully that'll change...*sigh*

Obviously, my favourite Inuyasha fanfic pairing is Sesshoumaru and [adult] Rin, but aside from the projected future romance, I also really enjoy their current guardian/ward relationship. I love the idea that a formidable, powerful, human hating dog demon can be so thoroughly smitten by a little human girl, that he makes her an exception, and cares for and protects her -- even if he won't verbally admit it, his actions speak volumes. I also think Rin is an exceptional girl...somehow she knew Sesshoumaru was right for her at first sight. She was never really afraid of him, even after his initial rejection. When he restored her life, she made sure she was his.

So...let's discuss. What is it about the Sesshoumaru/Rin relationship that draws you in? Do you believe it could really happen, or do you feel more like it's just for fun, and that it would never work in real life? Or maybe you have an entirely different take on the whole thing...

hello, though this comminity seems to be neglected i though what the heck , i'm a big supporter of this pairing, i just love them ^_^;; they seriously don't get enough love!
