lulu

Hello All!

The second issue of Zelda : The Magazine of the Vintage Nouveau has arrived! We have some amazing features in this issue...the cover girl is Doris Eaton Travis- the last living Ziegfeld Girl! She was in the Ziegfeld Follies from 1918-1920, and I was lucky enough to interview her for Zelda! (It was truly an amazing conversation...you will love it!) Here is a list of the features in the current issue:

COVER STORY : Like a Melody: Doris Eaton Travis (interview)
A True Classic: Robert Osborne (interview), Marsha Hunt: On Golden Era Fashion (interview) , Cocktails : The Red Velvet Sling: Dead Men Tell No Tales, But Their Spirits Do!; Pincurling Tutorial, A Dress Shoe for the Man of Action (in 1922), Illustrations by Fyodor Pavlov, Lawrence Gullo, and Joslyn Zoe, Gelber & Manning, Vicky Butterfly : Vintage Burlesquer, Sage Advice : Mister Burton, Vintage City 101: Los Angeles, On the Town (vintage event photos)

I would love to hear what you all think if you order the magazine!

You can find Zelda online at http://www.zeldamag.com !

It is ironic, I hate to cook (love to bake though) yet, I am obsessed with creating my ideal vintage kitchen. Here are a few of my latest finds:

Hello!

These are from a recent shoot I had at my house with my tiki bar. The suit is a vintage Cole of California.

Hope you like em!

I meant to do this earlier, but I've been busy....

I recently acquired a 1948 GE Stratoliner Electric Range... for $50! It's not perfect, but it is working order, and only needs some minor cosmetic work. Excuse the pic quality, was taken with my phone.

With the fluorescent light on. :)

Vintage clothing tailor in Richmond, VA [Feb. 24th, 2010|03:24 pm]

[Current Mood |curiouscurious]

This is a pretty specific question, but I'm hoping someone might have a recommendation. I recently have moved to Richmond, Virginia (USA). I have also lost weight which means a lot of my vintage dresses don't fit quite right anymore. Taking them to any old tailor just makes me a little bit nervous. Does anyone know of a tailor in Richmond that has a good knowledge of vintage clothing? Thanks so much!
