[ADMIN] Looking for new admin

[info]m_inglorion
I've thought about this for a while. I've been slowly losing interest in the rotation for some time now. Some of you may have noticed that I've been late more than a couple of times in posting "request" entries as well as the newsletters. Part of it is due to my workload. It is my final semester right now and it is certainly more carefree than the previous ones. But somehow, there's always something to do and I end up being so busy that I forget about the rotation. I'm graduating but I will be (hopefully) going back to school next semester and I'd be even busier then. Also part of it is that I'm losing interest in the Japanese music industry itself. I can't even remember the last time I bought a single or album.

I've considered letting someone take over admin duties temporarily like I've done before but I thought I'd be able to do it myself. Now, I'm not so sure I can. So I'm thinking of letting someone take over the rotation completely as a new admin. I will remain on the staff - it's easier than going through the master playlist and pulling out all of my entries. So I will still upload if my albums get requested. But everything admin-related will be handled by someone else. For example, putting up "request only" entries, assigning requests to the staff, adding new staff, playlist maintenance, etcetera.

But, I won't let just anyone take over as the new head. There are no formal requirements but I do have preferences. Current staff members are preferred over non-staff. And even then, active staff members are preferred. (You may have noticed that I haven't been enforcing the 4-months rule for staff much either.) In other words, if the staff member hasn't posted anything for the past 3 months or so - not even staff picks - that's considered inactive. Why current staff over non-staff? Well, I trust them more and I know they have a more vested interest in the rotation than non-staff. Plus, they know how the rotation works better than non-staff.

If you want to do this, let me know. Hey, who knows, maybe the new admin may be able to bring new things to the rotation - which you must admit is rather cut and dry at this point. =P

[Admin] Playlist Error (Again)

[info]imod
ATTENTION ALL MODS

Once again, there's been an error with the playlists - this time, with every one of them. Please DO NOT use rich text mode! If you don't know how to use the plain text editor to add in your list, let me know. This is nothing to be embarassed about. But whoever kept switching to the rich text editor, STOP. Once we switch back to plain text mode, the HTML gets really mucked up. Just send me your playlist if you can't add your list using the plain text editor.

I've restored the playlist to the August 4th version. I think there have been a couple of additions since then so unfortunately, you'd have to re-add your albums. If you don't want to go through the trouble, though, feel free to send them to me and I'll add them for you.

Again, DO NOT USE THE RICH TEXT EDITOR! Thank you. ._.

EDIT: If you are on rich text mode by default and can't seem to get out of it, please use this page. I've always thought, however, that when an entry is posted using one mode, it should retain that same editor when you edit the post later. Thus, I still think it's possible that someone is changing modes.

[Admin] Tags

[info]m_inglorion
We've begun implementing the tag system, which you can find on the sidebar. We won't be going back through all the entries and tagging them so some of the links might lead to 404 errors ATM. Old (and new) newletters can still be found through the memories section. Rotation and staff pick links change for every rotation, but the only difference is a new date.

Hope this makes finding what you want easier.

[Admin] Playlist Change

[info]m_inglorion
The playlist has been broken into five lists. Why? Because I can. It's probably going to get a little excessive trying to look through each list for something. But LJ does place a characters limit on the entries and well, have you seen our playlist lately? Should we be proud of it, I wonder? =]

Anyhow, don't any one of you dare complain about the number of lists, y'hear?
